2015 NFL Off Season

Should be a good season, especially since all the top teams (IMO) have glaring issues. In no particular order:

Pats
Reason for concern: Huge drop off in CB talent compared to last year.
Reason for optimism: Addition of red zone target Scott Chandler to an already top 5 offense. Hopefully contributions on the defensive line to help the secondary from FAâ??s (Jabaal Sheard), young players who havenâ??t seen the field much because of injuries (D. Easley), and rookies (M. Brown, T. Flowers, G. Grissom).

Seahawks
Reason for concern: Defensive depth, strength of schedule, KC holdout, secondary injuries, CB talent after CB1, and offensive line quality and depth.
Reason for optimism: Jimmy Graham is a huge addition, young receivers are hitting their prime, Wilson is only getting better, and lots of big game and playoff experience.

Packers
Reason for concern: Loss of WR1 Jordy Nelson, strength of schedule, defense is middle of the road.
Reason for optimism: Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, and Eddie Lacy.

Colts
Reason for concern: Same run of the mill defense with aging players, no pass rush, and still no legitimate RB.
Reason for optimism: Luck continues to improve, slightly improved offensive talent, young and talented TEâ??s entering their prime.

From what I read, the court decision was not about whether or not Brady did it but rather whether or not the suspension was consistent with the player conduct handbook and past punishments. The judge ruled that the suspension was not.

The NFL also openly admitted the punishment was much harder because of Spygate (even though it is almost a decade oldâ?¦) and a â??patternâ?? of cheating.
The NFL couldnâ??t prove Brady was involved, and they slap him with a four game suspension, fine the team, and take away the teamâ??s 1st and 4th round picks in subsequent years.
The Panthers and Vikings used heaters to heat up cold footballs during the game, on live television, and they were â??warnedâ?? not to do it again.

In 2012 the Chargers used a sticky substance on game balls and were fined $20K.
Aaron Rodgers admits to using over-inflated balls, no big deal.
Eli Manningâ??s ball prep; Eli Manning’s Footballs Are Months in Making - The New York Times

The Skibas explained the Giantsâ?? procedure.
â?  The new ball is rubbed vigorously for 45 minutes with a dark brush, which removes the wax and darkens the leather.
â?  Next, a wet towel is used to scour the ball until the ballâ??s outer surface is soaked through.
â??Youâ??re not done until the ball is waterlogged and water will no longer bead on it,â?? Ed Skiba said.
â?  While the ball is wet, it is brushed again.
â?  Then the ball is taken over to an electric spin wheel, where it undergoes another high-speed scrubbing.
At this point, the ball is put aside overnight. Then the process is repeated twice over the next couple of days.

God damn, life without Kam is going to suck. And I mean suck. There’s a good chance he’s not coming back this season, which would be a disaster for him and the team.

Good post overall, and a fair comment IMO.

Agreed.

Ya, that’s gonna suck on defense. Nice to see Fred Jackson found a home with the hawks though. You’re gonna like having him out there with Wilson. I was really disappointed in the Bills cutting him (ESPECIALLY if they end up keeping Cassel I’ll be right pissed). Outside of Kyle Williams he’s easily the most beloved Bill of the last decade. Has a knack for big plays when you need them, pass protects better than any back in the league, has great vision, quick thinking, and is good off the field too. He might be getting a little long in the tooth, but what he lacks in youth he makes up for in smarts. Not only will he be productive on the field for you, but he’ll be a good influence on the young guys. He’s the kind of vet you want. Unfortunately his presence there though means that in the NFC I (and every other Bills fan) just became Seahawks backers. We love this guy.

This statement from Judge Berman does not raise concerns for me about the NFL and the Commish. It actually raises concerns for me about this Judge.

lmao…

And I’m the biased fanboy…

Right[/quote]

Haters gonna hate never applied more than in this deflate gate debacle. From the most casual fan (and probably those who aren’t even football fans [everyone knows who Brady is]) all the way up to Goodell it has been a witch hunt mentality.

I think I’m pretty good at being objective but even if not, I have the luxury of not being a Pats fan and only mildly a Brady fan. I’m a fan in as much a I think he’s the best QB in the game. Maybe respect is the better word since I don’t really root one way or another for him. As posted pages back, I read that entire text message transcript and pointed out I didn’t see a shred of evidence of wrong doing. The responses I got back were basically “HE’S A CHEAT”.

No evidence, no reasoning, just the desperate, flailing attempt to cling to what they want to believe.

I think if I had to pick a top 4, yeah… Everyone else has even bigger holes in the roster. What is your top 4?

Also, I apologize for the formatting. I wrote it in Word and it didn’t like Word’s formatting.

AFC: 1. Dolphins
2. Colts
NFC: 1. Cowboys
2. I don’t care Seahawks/Packers I think the Rams will push the Seahawks for that division. The Vikings should give the Packers some problems in that division.

I think that the Dolphins and Cowboys will be the two best teams in the league this year and will face off in Super Bowl 50.

Yes

Don’t fight, guys. Put your money on it. MBDIX you’ve got the Cowboys and Dolfins. Dalton, you’ve got the rest of the field for the SB. Thousand bucks to Dix if the Dolfins or Cowboys win the Superbowl or 300 to Dalton if any other team wins. Don’t be pussies.

Those are pretty shitty odds for my side. For Dalton, that would be an easy bet to take.

I could put $300 down on Dallas right now at 12/1 odds. Paying out $3,600.

$300 on the Dolphins pays out $9,000

If I split the bets in half $150 on Dallas gives me a possible $1,800 pay out, and $150 gives me $4,500 possible pay out on the Dolphins.

Yeah, I guess I’d make a pretty shitty bookie.

I just found it odd you called out my top four…

And your SB matchup is Dallas (who is worse on paper this season and replaces Murray with 4 RB’s no one else less wants) and the Dolphins (who don’t even have a division title to their name this decade).

By all means, make bold predictions, but at least have some reasoning behind them…

The Cowboys have gotten worse on paper? DeMo had a good year last year, but lets not get carried away here. There are multiple RBs in the league that could have put up his numbers in Dallas last year and some could have put up bigger numbers. That is why every RB in free agency that was not getting a lot of attention was asking Dallas to holler at them.

Defense. We get Sean Lee back. Demarco Lawrence is healthy. We sign Greg Hardy. We draft an edge pass rush specialist, that looks like will be making an immediate impact on passing downs.

Speaking of Gregory. We get three 1st round talent draft picks out of this years draft.

Romo is coming into the season healthy for the first time in 3 years.

Dez Bryant is signed and is focused on one thing. Winning the Super Bowl.

Jason Garret has firmly placed his stamp and style on this team. His players are believing in what he is trying to do, and the entire team is on the same page.

I don’t know what paper you are looking at that has Dallas getting worse? I do know where you could find that paper though… The fiction section.
