I was hoping to find NFL football fans here. I feel so alone!!!

NFC west plays the AFC north this year.

AFC north is consistently one of the best in the NFL and NFC west has been peaking over the last few seasons, should be real interesting.

I think the 49ers will have a down year due to the turnover.
Rams and Cards should be tough
and the hawks are the hawks until proven otherwise.

This chuckled me to no end. AND, it’s truth speak!

NFC West also plays NFC North. We also get Philly and NO. Gonna be a fun season!

I’m a Cowboys fan I am hoping and expecting the NFC Championship game to be played at Jerry’s World.

I’ve been expecting good things from them for years now, and last year it finally came together.

The Cowboys have gotten much better this year. Lee coming back and moving to Will backer with McClain in the middle= scary.

Our DE’s should be scary even with Hardy out, he comes back, are you kidding me? I think Crawford in the interior is going to have a hell of a year.

I like our draft, and I think Byron Jones is going to get on the field and make an immediate impact. (The word around Jones coming out of college is “he is more suitable for the NFL than College”) Scandrick has been inked.

The Blockocalypse is going to give our backs plenty of room to run. I think Randle is going to take over as the lead carrier on this team. I am not concerned one bit about Murray’s departure. I am actually glad he is gone. (Thanks for the 1 year of staying on the field DEMO)

Tony Romo.

In all fairness I can pick out missed reads from Peyton Manning that, due to his lack of foot speed and mobility result in a sack, INT, or incomplete pass. It’s pretty easy to cherry pick good or bad plays from a guys season. I don’t think Manziel is a complete QB, but neither are most of the other guys in the league, The real issue is whether or not Manziel can succeed in the NFL in an offense that doesn’t play to his strengths, without a true playmaker at WR, TE, or RB, and without an overpowering defense (giving him good field position).

The positives for Manziel would have to be O-line play, Thomas and Mack (if he’s healthy) are beasts and Erving (though he’s a rookie) and Bitonio are going to be just fine. The longer he has to create the better off he will be (no surprise there) and that O-Line should give him time. Remember, Mack went down in October so Manziel had a newb at center and a reshuffled O-Line for his 2 starts. After Mack went out the offense was just awful.

Manziel should beat out the 3 headed shit show of Lewis, McCown and Shaw if for no other reason than playing him at least gives the Browns a chance to showcase him for trades. Manziel is more than likely not going to be a top QB in the league, he may never even be a serviceable starter or back-up, but I will repeat that 2 games is not enough to judge a career on.
PonyWhisperer, would you agree that Luck is a complete Quarterback?
Yes I would, I actually agree with the other poster that Luck and Rodgers are the most well rounded QB’s in the league (ability to move around a bit, make all the throws, make calls at the line etc.) I think Wilson needs to be asked to do a bit more but he could be up there as well, other young guys like Tannehill, Kaepernick and Newton have the physical traits, but are still learning the game, and the Brady , Manning types are old and more one dimensional (though still awesome).

Sure. My dad was a football coach in Texas my entire life. My mom was Grant Teaff’s secretary. My mom shared a room with Gary Gaines’ wife while my little sister and Gaines’ daughter were being born. My sister used to babysit Drew Brees during the summers when I was playing for his grandfather and my dad was on his staff. I spent part of one of those summers throwing with Brees’ uncle, Marty Akins. I’ve been hunting or played golf with more college coaches than you could probably name. Admittedly, I still can’t throw for shit to this day, but I guarantee you I’ve got 10x the football background you do. And I know a scared little kid when I see one.
I gave some time to see if you would want to come back and edit this post.

Do me a favor and read your post again, maybe even a couple of times. Try to read it as if you were some random guy on the internet. Or read it like I am the one who posted it. Then come back on here and tell me what you think.

If you do that, I will be more than happy to dive into it with you.
Ok.

Read it over a few times. Don’t know what your point is. If you think your junior high bench riding gives you more insight into the scared psyche of Johnny Football, I’m all ears.

Dude , number one your post gives you absolutely zero credentials. I was going to go off and insult you back and possibly insult your father in the process but you took to long in your response and I don’t have any urge to right now.

Even though I don’t agree, let’s just say that Manziel plays with fear. You do realize that many NFL hall of fame players played with fear. Being afraid isn’t the issue. What you do about that fear is. And what Manziel did is posted on the other page.

Irvin played with fear, trained growing up using fear as a motivation. Irvin used fear every time he went across.

Faulk used fear in his running, and in his training growing up.

If he is playing with fear he has shown he can use it to his advantage.

And finally in my 10 years playing football I didn’t ride the bench until an injury forced me too my last year.

manziel is full of liquid courage, no way he plays scared. Although he should be scared considering he was injured from a guy simply falling on him, he might be killed if he takes a real hit, one day, if he ever plays again, not in the pre-season.

Most of your post recently on here have been annoying to me, but that first sentence was pretty freaking good. lol

Sounds like it was either a couple of friends fucking around that got misinterpreted by the eyewitnesses as the start of a fight, or Manziel legitimately got harassed by a random fan and called security to address it, depending on which report(TMZ or his agent) you want to consider credible.

Funnily enough I think his agent’s story actually seems worse, because it implies he got mad enough at a fan talking some shit to him that he threw a water bottle at said fan, rather than just some horsing around on the golf course with a buddy talking some shit.

You’re missing the point of the story…he missed with the throw.

I’m not a Cowboy fan now but I grew up as one until jj took over.
If your O-line stays together I think you’ll win the East. Decent runners should get 80+ yrds a game behind it. Your D should be good to great depending on you secondary. Since you’re drafting smarter and not jerry’s way I think it’s going to be very productive.
Since Kiem and Arians took over we’re getting the O-line we haven’t seen since Conrad Dobler. Veldeer and Iupati give us a great left side. Hopefully Cooper lives up to his 1st rd pick since his leg is healed and Humphries will push Massie at RT. Not sure about center but should be OK. Gotta protect Palmer.
3rd rd RB Johnson, 6’1" 225 4.5 and great hands, will push Ellington and give us short yardage power along with the guys from last year. Real young backfield. WR’s are good to go. Deep as hell. Whoever we cut will be picked up by other teams. TE is a ? as we’ve got good but young players.
D looks decent. Safety is solid with Johnson, Mathieu, Bucannon, and Jefferson who spent the off season working to improve his TE coverage technique. Corners will be solid. D-line will be good mix of vets and youth. If Daryl Washington gets reinstated we’ll be a beast at ILB…if not it’ll be an adventure with the chance to be very good. OLB is the biggest ? for the whole team. Okafor, another vet to be determined, and lots of youth with a ton of potential.
With Ginn gone punt and kick returns should improve. Drafted the fastest guy in the combines. Receiver, kick/punt returner with a 4.21. Also got a few others with a lot of potential. Punter, kicker, and LS are some of the best.
Got a lot of players on their last year of contract or a 1 yr prove it deal like we had with Cromartie. After this season we could be a REALLY young team.

I imagine you guys will make a run at a QB maybe next offseason. Interesting to see how Cards do- they never seem to have all the pieces together when they need them.

I think SF is done. I think they will be done for a few years. That team has been dismantled and I don’t think Kaep is going to be their long term answer but who knows. Seattle seems to be in a good position again and STL always appears to be ready to make a run but somehow falters. Will be interesting to see how Foles does…

I admit that I haven’t paid a lot of attention to the Cards. I know a lot has been talked about y’alls coach.

What are the Cards trying to do? Run team, field position, and defensive play? Deep throws? Why has the Coach been talked about so highly? What has he done? These are questions because I am not familiar with what has gone on in Arizona the past few years. I know that they have had to play with 3 different QBs.
