2015 NFL Off Season

2014 Vikings and Panters were caught on film warming the game balls with the heaters and got a warning.

2012 Chargers hid Stickum towels from league, obstructed investigation and got $20,000 fine.

Falcons pump in fake crowd noise and get $350,000 team fine and fifth round pick.

A million dollar team fine, first and fourth round picks, and four game suspension is bullshit for what is ultimately circumstantial evidence.[/quote]

I actually wasn’t thinking about those other cases when I posted. I was just thinking about this situation. Pointing out the offenses and punishment like you did, I can see your point. Not when comparing the Vikings and Panthers offenses though, but the Chargers and Falcons yes.

Punishment seems pretty fair to me. I think the league is making an example out of the Patriots. Other teams will take notice.

Also, they said on ESPN said Spygate had something to do with the penalty this time for the organization. Like having a second offense.

I thought I had heard that the Chargers were very cooperative with the investigation recently when that was brought up(like, within the last week, when this discussion reignited). Forget what I was listening to(tv/radio).

I was going to say the opposite – according to my memory, they didn’t actually even use Stickum, and were found not to have violated any rules. But they were fined for being difficult.

Maybe that’s what it was. I just remember hearing a discussion that essentially summed up as “The Chargers case is nowhere close.”

So you don’t consider heating the balls up to be an issue, but letting air out of them is?

Chargers case came down to: the stickum covered towels weren’t illegal, but the Chargers had impeded the investigation, therefore they’re fined $20,000.

Just for a point of reference, I think what the Falcons did was the worst of the examples given so far. Followed by:

Brady surreptitiously having balls deflated,
Vikes and Panthers heating balls up,
Chargers interfering with investigation.

I don’t think that during a game with below zero temperatures sideline attendants putting the footballs under the heater to warm them up, when they probably didn’t realize they were breaking rules, anywhere close to Brady did over multiple games. They were doing it out on the field of play during a televised game. I find it insane to compare the two honestly. Reaching for straws if that is a comparison.

Then the league told him in fact he wouldn’t be eligible for 2016 Draft.

Then 26 teams contacted him, he narrowed his decision down to MIA and DAL, and Jerry Jones closed the deal. (cannot recall where I read that but it’s out there)

Yes, partially correct. If he was drafted and didn’t sign a contract he could reenter the draft in 2016. Because, he would not have become a free agent. Undrafted, he wouldn’t be able to enter 2016 draft. Because, he would become an undrafted free agent.

The 26 teams, I’m not sure about. Jerry, La’el both said something along the lines that he got to choose what team he wanted to play for and every NFL team wanted him. I think he said that he had gotten a phone call from every NFL team.

The NFL’s new logo…

I’m done. I’m out. No more bread and circuses for me. When having zero proof results in the same punishment for raping a chick, or if deflating your wife’s face results in LESS original punishment than a unproven violation, I’m done. Neither this game nor any professional sport as ever had any integrity… If only people held politicians or god forbid themselves to an equal standard they do a grown man who gets paid to play a child’s game, the world would be a much better place.

It’s been real guys, and I still feel for Jack.

You shouldn’t have much trouble replacing me in the fantasy league. Just let Matty know when the time comes.

Who are you talking about? Who raped a woman and got 4 games?

Rice was suspended 16 games and his career might be over. Peterson missed 15 or 16 games last year. Josh Gordon was suspended for 16 games for substance abuse. Greg Hard got 10 games and he was exonerated in court. Ngata got 4 games for Aderal (sp?).

Brady got 4 games and 1 is against Jacksonville for Christ sake…

Sigh…

I’m done. I don’t care. I don’t even have the effort to look up how to spell his stupid last name.

It’s all pointless nonsense.

I’m on the phone seeing if I can cancel the NFL network now, or if it’s part of my package.

Damnit Beans dont make an NFL decision like the NFL.

Just enjoy the SB win and let this play out.

I’d bet money Brady wins the appeal.

Or gets it reduced, but to give up watching the game over something likes this I just dont understand.

And yes if Romo got suspended for the same thing then I would watch.

At this point in time, please tell me one profession just one that is 100% free from someone that has not raped, murdered, child abused or grand larceny, etc.

There is not one, so yes sometimes the little “crimes” may get harsher punishments, but that is only because the NFL has to make up for the Aaron Hernandez’s of the NFL.

Anyway I believe we have argued about this in the past. I love this game, and there is not a damn thing that I see that has caused such a grievous act that we account for me never to watch again.

And my team is the Cowboys and JJ fired the best coach of all time :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed.
