IE. The only reason Manziel scored a TD on a wide open run.
Yep and after 4 games if he is still doing that then he may not be a bust.

I have to agree with Deion Sanders in that Hoyer’s serious decline directly coincides with Gordon’s return and it makes you wonder if he isn’t trying to force the issue with Gordon instead of running the offense.??

Was listening to Bob Papa and A Toomer this morning on NFL radio about this topic. I think it comes down to the fact that there is a lot of game film now on Hoyer and DC’s are game planning. He has to step up his game, he has not so that is why he is basically Fitzpatrick type journeyman. They are good for a 3-4 game stretch but they are not starters in the NFL.

So why not go and get an established QB? The Browns have proven they are incapable of drafting one or growing one, why not try to spend big money on an established free agent?

They dont keep a coach long enough to do this. How do some teams just find a QB? The Raiders, Houston and the Browns have been trying to find a franchise QB forever.

We had Gordon on the field in the loss against Jacksonville when Hoyer had a sub 10 QBR?
How about that god awful performance to barely squeak by a terrible Tampa team at home?
The Houston game?
Do any of you actually watch Browns games? Because I do. Hoyer has basically relied on busted play action coverages(and he’s missed some of those so badly it turned free TDs into barely-caught receptions). He has 2 games above a 40 QBR since week 5. Dude isn’t good, 7-5 record(and falling) be damned.
That said I probably give him this week at Indy because Johnny on 1 week of starters reps is most likely not going to cut it(and I’m not letting 1 changeup drive in a game trailing by 17 fool me into thinking he’s automatically better). If we lose this game we’re done anyway, so why not let Brian get one last shot at it to keep the season alive?

True, I was just sitting here trying to think of who it would be that they could get… Maybe they should have sucked worse so that they could have gotten Andrew Luck ha. And could it be that instead of being bad at evaluating talent, those franchises are just really bad at developing it and really good at ruining it? Basically whoever goes there is destined to crash and burn because of their environment?

Sadly history has shown that to be the case with the Browns. No QB worth a shit since Bernie. Revolving door of coaches and systems I believe has continued this.

Just did a quick Google search:
Number of starting QB’s since 1993:
Browns - 26
Bears - 25
Packers - 5
Number of Head Coaches since 1993:
Browns - 9
Bears - 4
Packers - 4
I think it starts higher than the coach and the system; some teams (like the Bears) just have an inability to judge talent at the QB position.
How many GM’s? and I agree

Can’t determine that after only 4 games. I’d prefer to judge that over an entire season

Yeah, just look at RG3. He did have one great season, but I think its doubtful he will ever get close to that point again.
Funny that the media seems surprised that Manziel won’t be starting this week for the browns. His touch down drive got so much coverage this week, but coughing up the ball in his own end zone the next drive (called back as a forward pass on an obvious tuck, doesn’t change what it really was) got zero. Browns smart to go with Hoyer till they atleast lose another game. I really think Manziel is still as likely to lose them a game as he is to win it.
Really hoping for a buffalo win this week at Denver. Defense, and special teams will have to come up huge, but if they can beat Denver it puts them right back in the playoff picture in a big way. Terrible schedule to close out the season with Denver, Greenbay, and New England all yet to come, but helping the Pats get another game up on Denver will matter come week 17 - if the pats have nothing to play for Belichick will sit Brady, and 10 wins becomes a real possibility. Having that game last in the season may actually be a break for the Bills if they can squeeze one out here.

Not as bad as the Chargers final schedule. They have the hardest out of any team. Patriots, Broncos, 49ers, and Chiefs.
Oh and they have to play the Patriots after they lost.

The Cowboys have had six head coaches since '93
How many QB’s did we go through until we got Romo? How many Playoffs wins since Jimmy Johnson was fired?
