2014 NFL Thread

Ray Rice wins his appeal and can sign with any NFL team effective immediately.

I know he was seen as being in decline, but I’m sure someone signs him(I mean, Blount and Tate got picked up almost immediately after being released by Pitt and Cleveland respectively).

I bet they look a lot better in their next game.

I think the Niners ran into a team last night that has just hit its stride. I’m going to predict right now the Seahawks are going to win out the rest of their games.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Arizona and SF from here on out. I think the niners will win 3 out of 4 then it will be a question of wether or not Arizona completely implodes and loses their playoff spot. They are going to lose two for sure.

Edit. I just looked at Arizona’s schedule. I think they will lose to Seattle, Niners and KC. That means they have to scrap out a win verses the Rams or Falcons. I wonder who gets the tie breaker if SF & AZ are each 10 & 6?
Seattle looks like they did last year, but some of these games they have to play aren’t a walk in the park I think they will lose to RAMS and CARDS

I think the Seahawks will lose at least one more game, possible two.

I kind of disagree with on edge about the Niners. Their offense has really looked bad all year. What happened to Vernon Davis? Why isn’t Gore running the ball more? Their defense has been keeping them in it all year. I’m just not all that impressed with Kap.

He’ll be picked up for sure.

Wash is not going to get rid of RG. They have a first round draft pick & tons of money to spend. Gruden will work w/him the entire off season to fix him. The O line needs to take some blame for this too. As does Haslett. That def. is horrible. I’m not a RG fan, but he does have skills that can make him successful in this league.
I’m reaching back a bit to respond to your comment but I think that what’s been going on in the media between Griffin and Gruden is the tip of the iceberg. I think Griffin’s comments to the media last week, in which he supposedly threw his teammates under the bus was carefully crafted by him ahead of time, whereas Gruden’s were more heat of the moment and off the cuff. I think Snyder knows he can’t keep swaping coaches to satisfy a quarterback’s ego.

I think the Defense has shown that they can be great but they are hamstrung by Haslett’s bi-polar play calling.

It has begun!!!

Huge win for the Chargers today. Finally beat them Ravens. That really helps them out for securing a wild card spot.

Yeah, I was obviously wrong about that one.

You were being a homer because of Colt werent you?

Tough loss for the Pats.

GB was a much better team, and Rodgers couldn’t be stopped on 3rd down. Pats couldn’t over come some really, really shitty officiating both early and late, and just dropped the ball at the end. Had plenty of opportunity to win, and just couldn’t get it down against a better, overall, team…

Good game, but a total gut wrencher.

I think that matchup was going to be won by whomever had home field. In Foxboro it may have been a different story. Enjoyable game although it was weird to see NE so bottled up for much of the game. GB defense has really stepped up.

GB beat them in all 3 phases, and in intensity as well. GB made the pats look a lot worse than they are, and still didn’t put up 30+. So You may be right in that on a different field the outcome is different.

However, and I’m not saying this is why they lost, it isn’t, a different officiating crew and you’ll see a very different game played too. I mean, they called 12 men with 11 fucking on the field. I’m pretty sure vegas got to the Ref’s last night, and they wanted a GB victory.

Agreed tough loss for the Pats, but if there was to be one the second half of the season I’d rather it’d be this one. The Packers are clearly the best team in the NFL right now, and now, the Pats know what they need to work on.

Maybe a little. I was thinking it was going to be a major motivating factor for the team.

Dude its not a Rudy movie. I know football is an emotional game and why I love it, but it still doesnt win games.

Yeah, I know it’s not a Rudy movie. But, when you have players in the NFL get extra motivation it can have a big impact.

When the Denver Broncos won their first Superbowl with Elway against Green Bay, emotion won them that game.

At least you haven’t been humiliated two weeks in a row by your biggest rivals. Suddenly feels like 2012 again. Andy Reid can be infuriating at times. JC only having 14 touches is a joke.
Game with the Cardinals is huge, both teams have looked a bit shit recently and I think the loser will go into free fall and miss the playoffs.

Mmmmm I have to disagree, Elway finally had a running game and a HOF tight end. Also the defense was finally playing at least in the top half of the league.

I really believe most fans to do not appreciate the fact that this is a professional game. Coaches work 18 hours a day to game plan and coach players to be prepared for Sunday. Players do not work 40 hours a week and spend 20 hours of that fucking off on the internet.

Now a QB with no previous game film can come in and sometimes spark a team to a win, not due to emotion but due to the fact the opposition has no game planning on that individual.

IE. The only reason Manziel scored a TD on a wide open run.
