js252, love your avi.

The Cowboys were America’s Team…about 30 years ago. It was boosted in large part by the popularity of the Dallas TV series and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and their TV specials. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders made for TV movie that aired in 1979 had a %48 share of the national television audience.

After the '83 playoff game, the national fervor around the Cowboys died out around the same time the Love Boat and Fantasy Island were cancelled.

Are you suggesting Ricardo Montalban play the role of Jerry Fuckface in a new made for TV movie or series?
Wrong actor, right series.

First car I ever learned to drive on was a New Yorker, with it’s rich, Corinthian leather.

DCC with Capt. Stubing and Julie McCoy.

The Cheerleaders were Tex’s idea too

The Cowboys dominate NFL team tv ratings year in and year out. If the Cowboys make the Superbowl this year it will be the highest tv rating for a NFL game in history

I just want to make sure I have this straight. The consensus on this forum is, the Dallas Cowboys are not America’s Team?

I damn sure hope so.

Btw, know how to use your apostrophes.
Yes I do. Thanks for pointing that out

WTF does that even mean? Since the Cowboy’s heyday, the Carolinas, Nashville, Jacksonville, Arizona, and Baltimore have all gotten teams. Who’s left? Albuquerque? Omaha? Anchorage?

The major markets are covered. The Cowboy’s were top dog 30 years ago because there was no one else for wide swathes of the country to root for and because of a TV soap opera, oil money, and some cute cheerleaders.

The TV soap opera started in the late 70’s Dude. The show “Dallas” is not part of any reason the Cowboys are America’s team. The Cowboys are a major reason why the TV show was created.

-They have more people across this nation watch their games every year.
-They have more team merchandise sales than any other team every year.
-They have more fans than any other team. In the US and the World.

Also, to address your statement about the States that now have NFL teams. There are fans that had Grandparents and Parents that were Cowboys fans growing up and became Cowboys fans, and when the NFL brought a team to their state remained Cowboys fans.

We are talking about the team with the star on the side of their helmet. Americas team.

How bout them Cowboys!

Go Cowboys!!!

Not really feeling the game today. I don’t’ think the Pats can beat Seattle, and I think Seattle is going to the superbowl…

So with that said, I don’t know if I’s rather they lose today against Flaco (ugh) or Denver next week (vomit).

If Baltimore’s D comes out hyped up and hitting hard, and Pats don’t… It’s going to be a long day in Foxboro.

I got it like this.

Pats win
Colts win
Panthers win
Cowboys win

You should go place your bet on the Panthers now. You will get pretty good odds betting on them straight up. Somewhere between 4 and 6 to 1. That could be a big payday.

I just checked the weather and they are expecting windchill of -9 at Lambeau. That would be a nice win for Dallas and Romo.

Pats/Baltimore is a toss up, I’ll give you that. (I think Falco rolls really.)
I can see Colts winning
I don’t think Panthers have a shot in fucking hell, but they have a good defense.
I could see the Boy’s beating GB with a banged up Rodgers in Dallas, I’m not so sure in freezing ass GB though, and that crowd…
