dude the PRK lifters have been unreal. The crowd loves them, and the one of the PRK guys (in the gifs you posted) loved the crowd, like it’s the only time they can express themselves openly. After his last celebration his coach actually yanked his arm roughly to take him back into the warm-up room. Oh well, at least that lifter has earned a nice place to live for him and his family.

Tremendous respect towards Kim Un Guk and im really happy for him. It seems to me that the WL Crowd has always been the best and most supportive crowd out of the Olympic games. I just didn’t realize that North Korea had a powerhouse of a Weight Lifting Team.

Only in the smaller weight classes though, I think that’s the last we’ll see of them. IIRC their system is almost entirely based off the Russian system.
also want to give a shout-out to my boy Conor Dwyer, who helped Phelps win his 19th Olympic medal. I went to high school with this kid in Chicago!

For competition, maybe. But if you want to stay injured train right through it and never rest it. You gotta lay off injuries. If I am going for the gold, I’ll lift through it because I have the rest of my life to get better. But unless you have a reason, you gotta rest and ice that shit.

That was probally the most emotional I’ve ever gotten when it comes to sports. Young Lu’s Injury and Old Lu’s EPIC C&J. Im going to take off to the gym right now and pound some shit. Im so inspired and determined now. I wish I could have watched it at my office. It would have been epic.
