I didn’t really read the article but why does there always have to be a reason. Dude just had a bad game. We can’t accept bad play anymore it seems. If he keeps playing like this some story about wade banging his mom is sure to surface lol. I just think he had a bad game no real rhyme or reason, I credit dallas.
Haven’t read the article yet, but I will. He’s had a bad series [for him], and each game he’s gotten progressively worse. He has a lot of trouble dealing with the zone, and Dallas’s individual defenders give him trouble. This goes back to the mental makeup I and others have been talking about for a couple of years on these threads. Jordan had it. Bryant has it. James doesn’t have it, and never will. You’re either born with it or you aren’t. He’ll go down as the best sidekick in NBA history, but he’ll never be “The Man”

I think LeBron was just tired during the 4th quarter. Even when he’s not shooting the ball well he crashes the boards hard and wasn’t doing that. I think he was just a little gassed cause he’s played so many minutes. Spolstra needs to rest him a little more.

I honestly don’t fault James too much for last nights game and I am not a big James fan lol

Oh yeah and to add on to WF’s point… Dallas’ zone really screwed up Miami IMO. Miami looked lost once the Mavs went to the zone

To some extent you’re right, but we’re not talking about just a bad shooting night, which can happen to anyone (like Dirk actually). We’re talking about being totally passive the entire 4th quarter, not even TRYING to attack the basket when being guarded by Jason Kidd and DeShawn Stevenson, which is unacceptable and very uncharacteristic of him.

A bad shooting night is “just a bad game”. An entire attitude change, and change of HOW you play, becoming totally passive, is a different beast IMO. People’s game-to-game performance varies a lot but their MINDSET, especially a premier player’s, should always be the same. Especially in the Finals.
He has been struggling offensively all series but he has been making plays on the defensive end and distributing. He just hasn’t been getting/taking his looks. whether that is cause wade has been dominate or Marion is not a good match up I think it is the latter. It reminded me a lot of the boston series when everyone thought he threw in the towel. I just think that is how he looks when he plays poorly.

I’m getting a kick out of the “He’s tired” arguement. IT’S THE NBA FINALS. Everyone is tired. James lack of assertion has nothing to do with being physically fatigued. It has to do with his mind, and his unwillingness to work. He’s not averaging too many more minutes than Wade, and Wade’s playing like his career depended on it. Yes, Wade has the favorable matchups here, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s played a shit ton of minutes as well. If anything Wade should be more tired due to all the work he’s putting in this series. People need to recognize that James just doesn’t have “it” and stop making excuses for him. Dirk had a 102 degree fever on top of being his teams main option every night [a luxury James gets to share] and it didn’t seem to make him any less aggressive.

Yeah but the difference last night is that he struggled defensively last night. Everyone he guarded took him to the hoop.

I agree with the first part of your post. I disagree that he will never be “the man”. He was “the man” against boston, he was “the man” against chicago. He brought cleveland to the conference finals and finals. People act like he has never won a playoff series sometimes. I think people underestimate how difficult it is to win a championship if you dont play for LA or Boston. You’re right he is not jordan or kobe and doesn’t play like either of them. He is right where he wants to be in the finals 2-2 2 home games left. The only time this year he has been side kick this season is in this series and in clevland he was obviously their main dude.

That being said I think he is going to continue to struggle for the rest of the series.

Correct and in my prior post I said he had a terrible game all around. I was saying there is no reason fatigue or otherwise for it. He just had a shitty game it happens.

I read a paragraph from John Krolik (wrote for Cleveland paper, covered LBJ since high school) and he says after all these years he literally has no idea what to expect from LBJ for game 5. Sometimes he backs down from challenges, sometimes he rises to unbelievable heights… he would be “equally surprised if LBJ went for 40 points or four points”.

Thought it was interesting insight from someone who knows LBJ - an insight that certainly meshes with what we’ve seen from him in terms of playoff performances through the years.

OK but he wasn’t matched up with Marion nearly as often last night. In the 4th quarter he was frequently guarded by Kidd and Stevenson and didn’t even attempt to beat them.

My bad. What was your point? I thought you were saying he doesn’t have the make up to win a championship as the man.

did someone say Dirk?

best description of Dirk ever lol

I agree, He looked like a bag of shit out there. I could have held my own out there if I was matched up on him lol. He is def having a bad series, my point was that there is no reason behind it maybe his confidence took a bit of a hit but overall hes just having a tough go at it.

hahaha the German Moses lol

Ya idk that is an interesting perspective and obviously he knows him pretty well. The thing about Lebron is he fucking sucks off ball. It is an area of his game that really needs to improve, he doesnt post up and he doesnt come off screens. He doesn’t have a different look to throw at the mavs defense so I think his struggles are going to continue. When he is struggling like he was last night(not being able to penetrate or beat his guy) he almost just kinda fades away imo.

Those videos ae hilarious!
And he’s so right about Bosh and the Raptors jersey
