2011 NBA Playoffs

Did I see correctly on ESPN news that Lebron is about to have a news conference today? What kind of prima donna shit is this?

Both teams practiced and then talked to the media. it wasn’t a press conference, pretty standard procedure. that would have been hysterical though.

Damn, I was really hoping for The Decision Part 2

Good stuff gregron lol!

Lebum Sucks - Go Bulls!!

Ya idk that is an interesting perspective and obviously he knows him pretty well. The thing about Lebron is he fucking sucks off ball. It is an area of his game that really needs to improve, he doesnt post up and he doesnt come off screens. He doesn’t have a different look to throw at the mavs defense so I think his struggles are going to continue. When he is struggling like he was last night(not being able to penetrate or beat his guy) he almost just kinda fades away imo. [/quote]

Yes exactly. When the ball isn’t it LeBron’s hands and he’s not controlling a particular play his effectiveness is marginalised.

Terry on LeBron today:

â??Pick your poison,â?? Terry said of James as a scorer or as a facilitator. â??Him getting a triple double that will help them, theyâ??ll win the game. He almost had one last night and they almost won the game. LeBron is unique. Heâ??s a unique character. If you want to categorize him as just a scorer, youâ??re doing it all wrong. Heâ??s like Magic. Heâ??s a guy who can affect a game without scoring 30, 40 points. He can get it done on both ends.â??

I am honestly shocking myself with how vehemently I’m rooting against the Heat. I thought I was indifferent to them.

But I guess the purist in me wants to see them pay their fucking dues for a couple years before they are treated to the spoils.

I originally predicted that Miami would take 2 in Dallas. Tonight though, I’m taking Dallas. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTT, I’m now taking Miami in 7. lol

what are predictions for tonight?

I am with fnf, Dallas wins and wins big tonight. 3-2 going back to miami yeaaaahhhhh budddddddddyyy

^^My prediction (before the series shifted to Dallas) is that the Mavs would be up 3-2 heading back into Miami. My original prediction was Dallas in 6. If they don’t take it in 6 I have to believe that Miami will win a home game 7 to clinch it.

Go Mavs!!!

EDIT: I originally thought the series would go like this.

Game 1- Dallas
Game 2- Miami
Game 3- Dallas
Game 4- Dallas
Game 5- Miami
Game 6- Dallas

Obviously thats not quote how it’s worked out so far hahahaha

If Dallas doesnt win tonight the series is over IMO. They aren’t going to take 2 in a row in Miami (not with how turnover prone/open shot missing prone they’ve been)

If you predicted DAL in 6, stick with your guns. Why point out where you were wrong??

I bet DAL in 6 at 4.5:1 odds so I’m liking that as a good value (it would happen 1 in 4 times at this point I believe).

As far as what I think is likely…tonight is a complete tossup and anyone who thinks they know the winner is talking out their damn ass! MIA prob wins the series in 7 if I had a gun to my head.

I agree. Although I’d still hope for some kind of crazy comeback and DAL in 7.

I really hope Dallas wins the series. I really like the team, not just Dirk (believe it or not). They deserve it so much more. Miami will probably win enough championships in the next couple of years.

I’m not sure I agree with that last sentence. Things that look like sure bets often change for the worse very quickly (i.e. injuries). 2 years ago we were all saying Portland was going to be the team to beat in the near future when Roy was a superstar and they were the up-and-comers.

totally forgot about Portland, you’re right.
But still I think If they’re not haunted by injuries and the core of the team stays like this, they should be able to grab a few championships in the next years.
But you’re right I guess you can’t really predict that kinda stuff. I just hope they don’t get a rinf this year

Portland were up and comers like OKC are up and comers. Miami is just retardedly stacked unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and they will only get better after they add some better pieces, like a decent center and pg.

My prediction was:
Game 1 Dallas
Game 2 Miami
Game 3 Miami
Game 4 Miami
Game 5 Dallas
Game 6 Miami

Now:
Game 5 Dallas
Game 6 Miami
Game 7 Miami

But Wade is an old 29 and is injury prone. Miami goes as he goes.

Injury prone? He had one bad injury and hasn’t looked back since recovery. I’ll reserve that label for someone regularly has season altering injuries (e.g. Greg Oden).
