Why do these games have to be so spaced apart. I’m fucking ready for game 3 tonight.
^ no kidding. Am I the only one who thinks Dallas can win the next 3 at home and close it? haha

I bet DAL in 5 at 12-to-1 odds, so I’m there with you. Drinks on me if they do!
Nice man. I need to start gambling again haha. It’s been way too long.
Dallas will not win the next 3 home games. And quoting the great (but used to hate him) Michael Irvin, PERIOD!
Are you guys with me that these Finals (and the playoffs in general), regardless of how many games it goes, are MUCH better than last year’s?

Much better than pretty much any year. This is why I actually am somewhat against parity in the NBA - the playoffs are vastly more entertaining with a crop of elite teams.
Said several times now that these have been the most entertaining playoffs in a long time. I think Dalles goes 2 out of 3 at home and heads to Miami up 3-2. The thing is though, if they do they’re gonna have to win game 6 'cause I don’t see them winning a game 7 on the road. When’s the last time someone’s won a game 7 on the road? I don’t remember it happening.

Last Finals game 7 win on the road?
1978
the Washington Bullets beat the Seattle Supersonics at Seattle Center Coliseum.
I didn’t know it off the top of my head just found this page listing all Game 7 playoff games in the NBA

Think I actually knew that. Pretty sure that’s when Dennis Johnson had his “John Starks moment” and shot like shit, helping the Bullets’ cause. Then DJ went to the Celtics and won a few.

You watch a lot of old games on ESPN classic?
I really don’t know much about basketball history (anything before the Raptors inception)

I don’t understand…? Is this some sort of reference to the first ever recorded professional basketball game being played in Toronto?
^^^ I can’t wait till they draft another euro big man this year and have the first ever PF-C combo to average less than 10 reb/game combined

lol oh I get it. They suck, they should be a CBA team.
It will probably happen, he’ll draft this Enes Kanter fellow. Our GM has stated Barg’s has peaked defensively so he’s definitely not going to increase Reb/gam.
Enes Kanter is the real deal… haha just kidding. I would feel bad for you guys if they do draft him. He seems like another weak big man to be honest.

Not really. Honestly find most of the games played before the mid 80’s kind of boring. But, when I was younger I read a retarded amount of basketball related material and have a lot of random basketball related shit floating around in my head. Also have a shit ton of old games on tape.
(Sorry if repost)
Caught this just today. Got me thinking …
Would MJ have been even more dominant if he were built like Lebron?
Would Lebron even be as dominate in his SF role if he were MJ’s height and size?
Place Dwayne Wade on the same team as MJ, do you think Wade would out perform Jordan as often as he does Lebron James?
Nah MJ was MJ 'cuse he was 6’6 215. Fact is he is the greatest basketball player of all time. That means if you had some sort of algorithm that derived some sort of ‘greatness index’ MJ would be at the top. Who cares about the hypothetical scenarios. LeBron may jump higher than MJ, he may rebound better, dish it out better, run a faster 40 yard dash r whatever but he doesn’t have any where near the accomplishments Jordan had. More than that no one will ever represent a professional sports organisation and even an entire sport, globally, like Jordan did. Shit I’ll even go beyond that and claim, unflinchingly, that Jordan was the greatest athlete of the 20th century. If he had like a manifesto of human history and you could only place one picture to associate with a subject humanity would decide to have MJ holding his shorts, shoulders broad, chewing gum, next to ‘basketball.’
I will say though, the comparisons, however loony they may be help me put into perspective that I am watching potentially one of the top 5 people in history to ever handle a basketball
