Jordan was way more dominant than LeBron, and he was built like Jordan. I like that all the announcers are asking “How’d LeBron pass Kobe Bryant on the all-time list already?” The answer is: HE HASN’T, AND WON’T.
My top 3 shooting guards I’ve seen play since their rookie years: Jordan, Bryant, Drexler. I don’t see anyone getting past Kobe for #2.

LeBron may jump higher than MJ, he may rebound better, dish it out better, run a faster 40 yard dash r whatever but he doesn’t have any where near the accomplishments Jordan had. More than that no one will ever represent a professional sports organisation and even an entire sport, globally, like Jordan did. Shit I’ll even go beyond that and claim, unflinchingly, that Jordan was the greatest athlete of the 20th century. If he had like a manifesto of human history and you could only place one picture to associate with a subject humanity would decide to have MJ holding his shorts, shoulders broad, chewing gum, next to ‘basketball.’
I will say though, the comparisons, however loony they may be help me put into perspective that I am watching potentially one of the top 5 people in history to ever handle a basketball [/quote]
Even for as big and strong lebron is, Jordan had the best “game strength” i’ve ever seen. If he ever got his hands on a ball it was his. He would win pretty much every 50/50 ball. One of the underrated parts of his game imo. Jordan is the Babe Ruth of baseball no matter what anyone does in the future in peoples minds Jordans accomplishments will trump all.
God I can’t stand the Lebron hype. The NBA/ESPN/media in general all want another golden boy since Jordan retired. First it was Kobe, then Wade, now Lebron. Any time Lebron has a good game we’re going to hear about how he’s the best closer in basketball, the best perimeter defender, better than Jordan, etc. All a bunch of propaganda bs.
If the Heat win the finals and there is a lockout I might have to kill myself because I don’t know if I can take an extended offseason of nothing but Lebron nut hugging.

James doesn’t jump near as high as Jordan did, especially with the ball, and I don’t think he’s as fast as Jordan was in his prime either. Jordan had outside of Iverson probably the best 1st step in NBA history. Also, as strong as James is he NEVER goes over the top of bigger players. I’ve brought this up several times. If a bigger player jumps with him, he lays it off the glass. If a bigger player stays flat footed and tries to draw the charge, he might try to dunk it but it’s probably still going glass. If a little guy jumps he’ll try and dunk it. He also has a weak post game for someone of his size.

I’d probably agree with that. Drexler had the misfortune of playing in the same era as Jordan, but he was a beast. On top of being a ridiculous athlete he was as complete a ball player as there was. He doesn’t get near the respect he deserves.

If he had taken Portland to one championship, I think people would have known more about him. I can’t think of a player right now who is great, but over shadowed by the presence of Kobe. Like Drexler was to Jordan. I’ll probably think of one in 10 minutes.

So are you agreeing that Jordan had the best “game strength” of all time? You are making it sound like James is some second rate athlete, He can get up pretty damn high whether dunking or chasing people down on fast breaks. I don’t know what going over bigger players matters, if he lays it in or dunks it what is the difference. You prolly don’t see it as much cause people just gtfo of the way when he has a full head of steam. I agree he needs to have a better post game, that will be the next progression in his arsenal.

Magic Johnson has said that Lebrons next step is to be able to pass out of the post. But does Lebron even like playing with his back to the basket?

For his size, yes I am agreeing. James is a top flight athlete [ I mean like top 5% in NBA history top flight], but he doesn’t jump well off of 2 feet, which somewhat limits his ability to go over bigger players. And, going over bigger players is HUGE in terms of basketball strength. Jordan did it, Bryant did/does it, Vince Carter did it, James doesn’t. If those guys got hit in the air, they could overpower the bigger guy and finish the play with authority. James - for all of his size and strength - can’t. He puts it off the glass.
omgz tonight so excite. Skipping Game of Thrones for this
I have a bad feeling that Lebron is gonna go off tonight ![]()

Miami will get 2 in Dallas.
I meant Dwayne Wade earlier haha. Looks like it’s gonna be Two Men tonight not Two and a Half men lol.
I really want Dallas to win, but Wade just pulled off a behind the back dribble to split the double and split another two defenders in mid-air to convert a sweet layup. He came to play, but Dallas is looking pretty crisp. Also, if Bosh didn’t just detach his retna he is a giant fag.
Also wanted to add that we’ve talked about Dallas missing Caron Butler, but they’ve also been doing this without Roddy Beaubois who’s in their top 8 roatation, and they’re without Haywood tonight. Getting this far without 2 of your top 8-9 players is crazy.

By “weak post game for someone of his size” do you mean “no post game whatsoever”?
^^^ Yeah that’s exactly what I meant.
I scream at my TV every time a PG switches on him and he faces up instead of backing him down. Barea could be on him and he wouldn’t post up… it’s infuriating.
