^^^ So basiclly Dallas continued their shitty play from game 1 through 3 quarters of game 2 and went ape shit in the 4th? What do y’all think this does to Miamis confidence? Like I said, couldn’t hear 'em but Wade and James look crushed at the post game press conference. Blowing a huge lead like that at home facing a 3 game stretch on the road has to be demoralizing.
That Game2 collapse was just the wake-up call MIA needed. When D Wade hit that corner 3, they figured this series would be a cakewalk. (and rightly so, to that point)

I actually think DAL would’ve been MORE demoralized had they not completed the comeback. To come up just short last night (which didn’t happen, obviously), I just don’t see how DAL would’ve been able to recover from that.

Anyway now that the hometeam has lost a game, the Finals has officially begun…

Seeing Dirk pull out like that, AGAIN… god, I’m so happy for him. I want him to win the championship so bad, I hope he does. How can anyone root against this guy or the Mavs at this point?
Pull for Dallas to win these NBA Finals because Miami will get forklifts of rings someday. This might be Dallas’ last chance.

Pull for Dallas because it got screwed in the 2006 Finals worse than Bartman. To lose to the same team five years later would be tantamount to basketball waterboarding.

Pull for Dallas because Dirk Nowitzki deserves this title more than anybody else on the floor, more than LeBron James, more than Dwyane Wade.

Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki stayed with his team, never took his talents anywhere but to the damn gym every day…

…Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki didn’t try to win a title the new way, didn’t pick the best kids on the playground and take on everybody else, didn’t get a bunch of super-human friends and schedule himself a ring, like you might a kegger or your birthday party.

MIA celebrates way too early. They have a habit of blowing strong leads like that; just look at the regular season. Ridiculous.

And what was up with Haslem getting the ball and not having the confidence to take a shot or drive? He looked like a scared little kid, searching for the Big Three.

That last DAL play was classic NBA Finals material.

love it.

^^^ Agreed. Man, Sunday can’t get here fast enough. No matter what happens the rest of the way this has been a fucking awesome playoffs.

Wait, Wut?

^^Sir, could you please make your picture a tiny bit smaller, its taking up the entire page.

kthanx

Balls on JET Jason Terry for getting that O’Brien Trophy tattooed on his right bicep. IIRC he got it done even before the season started or something like that. People must have been calling him bat crazy at the start of the season and even heading into the playoffs. I can’t blame those people that criticized his sanity then, but boy did JET stick it to them.

Regarding LBJ, if Miami loses this series LeBron will probably get scolded like no other this off-season. That ‘hate,’ unfortunately for LeBron, could last a long time if there’s a lock out next season. However if in the scenario he proves his heart and visibly puts it out there in a way millions of fans can see it and the Heat still lose I think he’d gain enough respect to largely cool down the impending fire storm.

I’ll say though, if LeBron was really playing with that level of heart required, Miami would probably win…

Dude, I totally forgot about that. Going small totally shocked me at the time as well. It’s sorta defensible because they needed offense and DAL doesn’t have a true center who can hurt you, but Chandler was playing well and you can’t make a run unless you stop your opponent. It was ballsy though and I generally like Carlisle so I trusted it.

scj119 wrote:
Yeah that was a crazy move and didn’t last very long. Kidd was guarding Bosh and Bosh still didn’t post the little fucker up. Hell even Wade posted up Kidd when he had he chance and score on him. Though I think when Bosh easily grabbed that rebound for a dunk, Carlisle knew that lineup was a mistake.
The way MIA play, I thought it would be a blatantly obvious so completely disregarded it as a game strategy. Who was on the court at the time? Bosh … James … Wade … Anthony/Haslem/Miller & Chalmers/Bibby?

You go small, you are going to get out-rebounded, you are leaving the inside wide open for LBJ and Wade drives AND not going to get inside yourself on the offense without getting hit with blocks or easy double teams.

Dirk, Marion, TERRY, KIDD, BAREA

Shit, you even give James a 6 to 8 inch height and reach advantage to pop up 3’s with defenders in his face.

Carlisle is a good coach, and I am sure when he is in his twilight he’ll be considered as one of the greats of all time. I really thought G2 was filled with strategic mistakes. Dallas were overall too soft on the inside trying not to foul. It worked to keep the Heat off the line but it also just allowed them easy uncontested dunks. I can see how it kept Chandler from getting into early foul trouble which I guess with Haywood’s injury was a lucky move. They were just far too soft until those last 8 minutes in the 4th and got away with a lucky win.

Better?

I laughed at the faking at the end after the initial shock of the loss was over.

Was out with the chick I’m seeing and missed basiclly the entire game. Rolled into a bowling alley during the timeout with 24.5 left in the 4th and saw Dallas execute to perfection for Dirk to close it out. Apperantly they were down like 15 or something with a little over 6 minutes to go. Since I didn’t see the game I can’t comment fully, and the sound was off in the alley so I couldn’t hear their voices, but the Heat players [specifically Wade and James] looked crushed at the post game press conference. Think this knocked 'em down a peg and put some doubt in their minds.
dude… it was INSANE! You missed out. you should definitely try to catch the game on replay some time. The NBA Channel will definitely replay it.
Replay’s on NBATV right now. Two things that stuck out to me as pretty crazy is literally right before Dallas went on their run Marion airballed a wide open layup and Chandler blew the putback, then Van Gundy talked about how Dallas was still capable of going on a run like they did against OKC, only now they’re playing a “much better team”. Awesome.
