2011 NBA Playoffs

Pretty great that OKC made it a game towards the end, but Dirk came up when it mattered.

I like both teams but I`m kind of hoping the Mavericks win the series. The Thunder, as well as the two Eastern finalists are young teams (well…the Heat have some oldies) with plenty of time to compete for titles and whatnot over the next 5-7 years or so. The Mavs on the other hand are full of old guys who you hope can finally get a ring- Dirk, Kidd, Peja, etc.

That was as bizarre an opening sequence as I’ve ever seen.

Flash, gregron, Sneed, Matty (if you`re still reading), etc. who are you guys rooting for now that the Lakers are out?

I?m hoping for Bulls against the Mavs, personally.

You know man, I’d be pumped to see any combination of the teams available go at it for the chip. Like I said earlier, I think Dallas wins but wouldn’t be suprised to see OKC pull it out, though I think we’ll have to wait at least one year [maybe 2 depending on a ton of things], and I think Chicago is a much better team overall than Miami but they’re not playing like it so not sure who gets this one. A CHI/OKC Finals would be as fast paced as any in recent memory, CHI/DAL would be a straight shootout, MIA/OKC would end up a lot like a CHI/OKC series and MIA/DAL would probably be the most intense of the possible matchups due to the bad blood and players involved. Any way it turns out, we get a badass matchup.

I completely agree. Everyone left deserves a ring, and most of all I’m glad that it will be a fresh champion (now that LA and Boston are out).

I will reiterate: Heat in 6

loved that 1 on 1 break between Korver and Lebron. Korver looked like a scared little boy

Well this game got out of hand in a hurry. LOL @ Reggie’s ‘release the kraken’ comment though, one of the funnier things I’ve heard in a game this postseason.

Oh boy, this series might be over in 5. Miami looks invincible at home.

fack you Bulls. Fack you right now.

Hahaha yea I wasn’t sure if I heard that right.

In 29 minutes of play, Noah scored one point, grabbed five rebounds and picked up five fouls.

I feel honoured to have witnessed a Chris Bosh sighting. The Velociraptor came out to feast on some cattle today.

Kobe 2.0!

I forsee apologies, fines and gay community time in Noah’s future. At least Noah knows what he’ll be doing in the off season, which will probably be pretty soon.

I’m with ya. Bulls and Mavs… with the Mavs taking it.

just as long as Miami doesnt win lol

Jeezus, D. Rose has got sick game. Fucking unreal some of this shit he was doing. That’s why I was arguing with a buddy over who’s more of a franchise player, Rose or Durant. I think Durant’s stats are ridiculous, but Rose can handle the fucking ball (though he has more turnovers and is inefficient, but his athleticism is unreal…quickest guard). Aren’t he and Wade buddies?

I don’t see Bulls pulling it off in under 7. I see Heat doing it in 5 (now).

But I see Mavs winning it all and Heat winning maybe 2 games, tops. Mavs can move the ball and have talent all over. I’m sick of seeing Miller’s and Bibby’s faces. They’re not doing shit.

And what the fuck is up with Bosh pump faking when he’s got nobody on him? Either shoot the goddamn ball or drive. Yes, I know he scored 30+, but still. Be assertive. He loses opportunities when he’s open but hesitating like that and making unnecessary moves.

Slightly off topic: I’m trying to pitch an idea to Steven Levitt (Freakonomics author) about analyzing something particular to an NBA game (specifically playoffs). I’ll let you guys know if he bites. It’s definitely worthy of discussion in my mind.

god I hate both Boozer and Noah… so very, very much.

GIMME DAT [in Boozer voice]

I hope the Heat take it all. I’d rather see them play OKC, just because I’d rather watch Westbrook and Durant play than Dirk and Terry. I think the Mavs would be an easier series though.

You described that perfectly.haha.

Hope he keeps that up. Usually, his points come from foul line area jumps shots and feeds under the basket from James and Wade off double teams. If he can keep bringing a post game like that (which he’s obviously capable of), nobody’s touching the Heat. This is was the type of game people were expecting him to bring to Miami.

Seriously about the prediction change. I guessed Heat in 6 and now that just feels so generous. I guess we should’ve seen it coming, the Heat annihilated a good team (the Celtics), while the Bulls barely beat an 8th seed and let a mediocre Hawks team take team them to 6.

Also Freakonomics is one of my favourite books! Do you know Stephen Levitt, or are you just emailing him randomly?

Did you guys see the post/pre game on TNT? What was with the “Barkley Sucks!” chants LOL. It got a bit awkward out there for a while. He threatened to a space heater at one of them lol.
