2011 NBA Playoffs

And my comment for the final 1:30 - why is Maynor still in, and is there a chance we actually don’t see Westbrook in the 4th at all? JEEZUS. Ballsy by Brooks, to say the least.
Too bad Westbrook was being a punk on the bench.

Is it just me, or does Russ Westbrook look like a Ninja Turtle?

That is some coach-of-the-year type shit. Apperantly Westbrook said something to Brooks and Brooks went with Maynor. To have that kind of faith in your back-up, in a playoff game, on the road, down 0-1 facing an 0-2 hole going into your home arena is bad to the bone. Remember what I said about Westbrook maybe getting to big for his britches? That’s the kind of move that either shows him where his place is, or sends him running when his contract’s up. Hope he pulls his head out of his ass and stays, 'cause OKC is the future with him around.

Also, I think Boozer shows up tomorrow, Rose plays better than last game and Chicago wins on the road. They are a much better team than Miami, and they need to play like it.

I always thought he looked like Bodie from The Wire (best series EVER).

Holy Shit - he does!

And yes, THE WIRE is the best piece of creative content that has ever been created. Nothing will ever top it. It changed my life. Profoundly.

Care to elaborate?

I haven’t had the chance to see this series yet but from everything I hear people put it up “there” with the Sopranos and etc as one of the best TV drama series ever.

Brooks is a boss. Westbrook is too, but that was a smart move. I wasn’t aware that it was a punishment thing to keep RW out. I thought Brooks wanted to keep the momentum of the 5 on the court. I think momentum/game time chemistry is hugely underrated.

I think CHI is a better team than MIA, especially from the 1st half of Game 2 (read: CHI ball movement).

Damn, why can’t we all watch the games at some bad ass sports bar? I feel like talking shit, you mofos.

Always thought that. Hah.

The Wire - it’s awesome.

Changed your life Nate? How so? [sorry if I’m intruding ;)]

Buy yourself a plane ticket to DC and I’ll buy you a beer…seems fair to me

In Westbrook’s defense - I saw it written today by someone re-watching the game that they only cut to his face after bad plays and it’s possible that’s what he was upset about. I personally thought he was being a bitch in real time (can’t say I would’ve done better though), but something interesting to just have in you head.

Side note - while I agreed with that decision at first based on the rest of the 4th quarter, Maynor was pretty bad those last 2-3 minutes. I would’ve gone with Russ at the 1:30 or 1:00 mark after a couple of those plays.

Bump

Durant looks horrible so far. Of course it’s reaaaalllly early.

Man OKC wtf…

Still looking bad 90 minutes later.

If OKC can comeback and pull this out, Westbrook will be the reason. He’s making up for whatever boneheaded shit he did last game. Also, he’s using his left to finish more tonight than maybe all season combined.

Westbrooks gonna get a TON of hate after this game. He was the only reason they were in the game, but he did have a few really bad plays down the stretch though, that pull up 3 and the turnover on the drive against Chandler.

But man that was too close, especially after the early lead. Although OKC 36 FTs to Dallas 18, Dallas had 12 before the fouls at the end of the game…Dirk definitely deserved a few more than he got.

Activity in thread has heavily subdued following the elimination of the Los Angeles Lakers and the widening spread of games. Loss in thread participation can also be attributed to the absence of ‘hate’ posters who spend time writing damning posts on teams and or players they dislike, feeling the need to share their subjective views in the hope someone will agree with them. Saying that, some posters have ‘dropped out’ in conjunction with their team of choice having also ‘dropped out’ of the playoffs. Simply, Knicks fans don’t care if the Mavericks beat the Thunder or how the Heat will do in game 3. They certainly don’t care, nor have an opinion on whether Russell Westbrook acted appropriately in game 2, which is the latest trending topic in the NBA right now.

… over …

All these days off between games sucks balls

OK, that was a slight exaggeration. The point being that the quality of the show exceeds any and all hyperbole. Did not change my life, but for those 5 seasons, DEFINITELY improved the QUALITY of my life. I loved every second of the show. I was captivated, enraptured, and continually blown away, episode after episode after episode. I sat there slack-jawed the entire time. Best dialogue ever written. Every single episode had some totally mind-blowing dialogue that made you marvel at the talent of the writers. Its amazing how some writers can voluntarily write some of the wittiest lines you’ve ever heard. There were NUMEROUS times when I would rewind shit 5 and 6 times just to soak up the pure genius and intellectual masterclass they would throw out there. Don’t even get me started on the depth and breadth of the character development and their ensuing, inevitable, and unpredictable pratfalls.

Nothing will ever come close to beating it. There isn’t a single show in the same universe as THE WIRE. It is a MASTERPIECE in every single sense of the word.

Sorry, got a little carried away there…

BACK TO NBA.

You know, now that you pointed it out Im pretty sure last years thread had a couple of 2 page stretches of anti-LeBron articles posted on those days where there were no games…lol
