Saw that Nowitzki is 53-55 on ft’s for this series. That’s crazy.
X2
He bumped that up to 59-61 after last nights game. That’s got to be a record, no?
Record of what sort? Most free throws made out of 60 attempts? I don’t think they keep any sort of record like that, I think there’s just a most free throws made in a row and FT% records kept.
Michael Williams in the 80’s made 93 in a row. Caron Butler had 73 in a row at one point.
Jose Calderon has the best FT% of all time in a single season at .981%
FT% in a playoff series.
Edit: And he did set a record during that run:
Raj, I’m almost positive you meant Michael Adams, not Williams. How many ft’s did Calderon take that year? I can’t shoot 98% in an open gym with no one around. That’s nuts.
^^^ My bad. 87 in a row is crazy. How many games was that spread over? Calderon’s not exactly known for going to the rack, so I’m sure it was quite a few.
EDIT: Nevermind, checked the link. It took him almost a year to do that. That’s basiclly 2 ft’s a game.

You know who is known for going to the rack? Whoever Calderon is guarding.

article on ESPN today about Jason Terry and that tattoo he got before the season started…
he got the Larry O’Brien trophy tatted on the inside of his bicep! hahaha and now they actually made it to the finals. thats crazy
What if he never wins one, will he get it removed? Or what if he wins several? Will he get one tat’d title for every actual title? He better win one this year 'cause he’s gonna feel like a goon if he doesn’t. Did the article say why he got it?
Tony Reali has THE SLEAZIEST voice on television. It’s fucking great.
Michael Smith was arguing about MIA-DAL (I think that was the argument) and all of a sudden they gang up on him and he rips off his mic and leaves…one of the guys calls him Michael Westbrook. Fucking hilarious.

I literally just saw that, but I think they were arguing about the Lakers hiring Brown and Bryant’s reaction to it. I met Michael Smith at the Hilton when Houston was hosting the Super Bowl several years ago. He seemed really stoked that someone would recognize him, haha. Didn’t talk with him for more than maybe 2 minutes, but he seemed like a pretty cool guy. Also literally ran into Michael Irvin that night, and that dude’s a tank. He was wearing a suit and I swear his shoulders were as broad as 2 average dudes.
Dang I always thought Plaschke would get run off that Around the Horn set before anyone else. Hilarious
And speaking of tanks, I did notice a lot of locked-out NFL players spending money this past weekend. Didn’t recognize most of them (without the helmet, jerseys) but 6’4 275lbs in obviously decent shape is pretty unmistakable.
Anyway about tonight’s game, I’ve got CHI winning comfortably and sending everyone back to MIA on thursday…

Continuing this little tangent for a sec, anyone catch how Ray Edwards looked in his pro boxing debut? From the front he didn’t look ‘special’(although his shoulders were crazy broad and he has a thick ass neck) but when you see the shots from behind it’s crazy, dude has some serious back development.

Yeah, I’ve been around a handful of NFL players and some of those dudes are freakishly big. Not even overly muscular [though some are], just big dudes. To get off track for a minute, you said you’re in LA. The scene there is damn near as expensive as Miami’s isn’t it? I hear it’s ridiculous.
Anyway, I’d like Chicago to win tonight but at this point think they’d just be delaying the inevitable. Rose has become too ball dominant and no one else seems to be able to get in a rhythm outside of Deng. As a team they’re getting pretty good looks, they’re just not hitting 'em.
LA can be pretty tough, esp if you’re trying to get into whatever current spot celebrities are trying to be seen at. And the standard rules apply: you better have AT LEAST one girl for every dude and you still may be on the hook for bottle(s) anyway
As always, “who” you know ends up being more important than anything else, so it helps to keep in touch with promoters, hosts etc (also kinda helps to just outgrow it all, as we discussed earlier)

Sounds like it’s the same shit everywhere you go, at least as long as you’re going somewhere trendy. That shit’s for the birds.

Ignoring the undecided (or at least those who haven’t stated their prediction) our predictions on who’s going to win looks 50/50 in this thread.
I haven’t tipped my hat yet because I haven’t admitted the Bulls won’t win.
Here’s my prediction for tonight (unfortunately): Bulls are ahead about 6-11 points all game, MIA takes over in the last 5 minutes
