Me too man, I thought that would be addressed after how last season went kicking wise. That miss against the Saints scared the hell out of me. Buehler didn’t look terrible last night, still one of my main concerns for the Boys this year.

Found this article on espn. The Jets owner doesn’t seem to think that Revis will play-

Yea your kicker looked terrible, there has to be someone better out there, somewhere.

It would be surprising if Revis didn’t play, but I think the Jets saw it coming, and made sure to draft a great corner (Wilson) and also pick up another one (Cromartie). As good is he is, I think they can survive without him. It would be a shame though if he actually sat out, he’s exciting and entertaining and needs to be on the field.

The fact that so many players are whining while they are under contracts that they signed is really starting to bug me. They signed a contract, play it out, then get your money. I know there are some players that are signed to ridiculous contracts and then explode and deserve extra money, but it is starting to get out of hand.

The modern game man. I don’t begrudge them any strategy to maximize earnings. They need to be set up for life as I KNOW they don’t do a lick of studying in school and it could come crashing down at any moment.

Elvis Dummerville comes to mind. He’s unlucky that he got hurt but very lucky he just signed a new contract with all that gauranteed money.

And your right on another point, I know someone who plays in the NHL and his high school “curriculam” was a joke, mind you trying to get an education while travelling on a bus four days a week is pretty tough.

Its entertainment at the pro level. We dont bitch about movie stars salaries and they can do that shit till they are 100 years old, look at George Burns. Not to defend the players, but they sacrifice their bodies for a very short time span. And like has been said these are not the sharpest knifes in the draw, they know football and that is about it. My 2 cents.

I feel no pity for those owners. They wouldn’t have this problem if the NFL had guaranteed contracts.

Agreed real guaranteed but also incentive based contracts. You dont perform you dont get the extra pay. Barring injury of course. And can we get a rookie salary cap for God’s sake. No more Jamarcus Russel busts.

Well said, and I agree. Hopefully the new CBA will find a middle ground between players and teams, so that this flood of hold outs and disgruntled players can be somewhat quelled, but organizations are still protected against busts etc.

Also, The rookie contracts are simply ridiculous. I would be furious if I was a proven veteran player and kids like Bradford are getting some of the biggest deals the league has ever seen, before they throw a single pass on the field.

Agreed, if Bradford has a season ending or career ending injury he walks with 50 million for doing nothing. How can anybody run a business that way and survive, much less win in the league?

Obviously it’s subject to change, but for all those Laurence Maroney lovers out there, he was the third RB on the depth chart when it was released today, with Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris in front of him (and the Pats don’t usually do the depth chart motivation thing).[/quote]

That means nothing to me, Maroney will have a breakout year. Morris and Taylor will get hurt again, he showed in the second half he is the better option at this point. It also means nothing to me because Kevin Faulk always gets carries no matter where he is on the depth chart

I hate the pats BTW but believe Maroney has the talent to be a stud and if under another head coach who does not use so many rbs may have already proven this

Wells got carried off the field with rib injury, later negative for fracture. I dont know about this kid, I know I said he may have a break out year. But he has no pain tolerance, I remember at OS when he went down with the foot. Maybe needs to get the sand out of his vagina.

Union dues my man. Why would the union want a cap. I was never a union rep but I’ve paid my share of union dues. I could be wrong but the bigger the salary the bigger the contribution, and isn’t it all about money for both sides anyways?

Never thought of that, that is why I like being on here cause guys have a different perspective. And I have never heard anybody ever bring up that argument. But the NBA did so the NFL can to.

Just wanted to remind everyone that there is a Monday Night Football game on tomorrow (Panthers vs. Ravens 8PM ET).

I don’t know how in the world they decided it was a good idea to have a Monday Night Football game on a Thursday, I’m sure many will be confused and might miss it, but it’s a football game none the less and should be fun to watch.

Cowboys and Raiders on regional TV also.

dont have cable. so ghey that mnf went to espn.

Just payed my yearly game pass sub to nfl.com $280. Every reg season game and unlimited NFL network. I have to pay a small amount again for playoffs but its worth it.

Lucky. I have Comcast and they don’t offer that amazing package. All I can buy is the Red Zone channel which is decent, but ends up being the biggest cock tease in the entire world because you can’t stick with one game.

Things I have observed from Hard Knocks

Somebody Has to tell Joe Namath that his pants should not be pulled up to his nipples

His daughter is hot

Rex Ryan loves dropping the F bomb

The lap band surgery was a waste

OH NO!!! I had to Tivo due to work sched. Shouldn’t have read this post. Gonna try & get to it tonight. As much I love ya Matty & I do love ya. You can’t bust on the legend that is simply known as Joe Willy. Pants to nips or not, he is the only viable thing we have had to greatness.
