I disagree with Brown being a good matchup. He’s a bit over zealous in trying to block shots, I could forsee Rondo doing a quick shot fake, Brown going up and him zipping right by him for an easy basket. I think Farmar may actually be a better matchup for rondo. He doesn’t get carried away and has been improving on D lately.
That’s a valid point, my thing is NOBODY’s going for a Rondo pump fake from 15’ out. He’s proven able to stick open jumpers but I don’t know if he’s ever taken, let alone hit, a contested jumper in his life. Brown’s significantly bigger, stronger and more athletic than Rondo, and if he stays planted can frustrate him.
Thats a big IF. Shanon Brown hasn’t shown that he is capable of that kind of self restraint yet, not IMO anyways. I think he’s too eager to use his athleticism, he needs to realize thats great for offense, but for defense he only really needs to use his strength and size to body up. I wish Ron Ron would pull him aside and start training him on how to be a truly effective defender.
I really do think that Shannon Brown can develop to be a GREAT defender, I just wish it was sooner than later.

I see what you’re saying. But I think you’ve been bamboozled by the last two series. If Deron Williams pump fakes, you bite. If Steve Nash pump fakes, you bite. If Rajon Rondo pump fakes, you chuckle. I agree that Brown can be a LOCKDOWN defender with his size, strength, athletic ability and condor wingspan.

This wait is nothing, the wait after these series are over before the championship starts is going to be killer.
Tonights game should be interesting. I think orlando is going to bang out a win.
I agree. I think they take tonight but lose the next 2. I also expect Paul Pierce to spend about half the game on his ass. If he doesn’t, then the Magic have no hope.

If he thought the flagrant 1 he got from D12 in game2 was anything he should probably stay out of the lane tonight.

Haha. You know man, when Pierce was at Kansas he was one of my favorite players. Since he’s joined the league though he’s been kind of a pompous dick. I was reading an article in SLAM the year after he got stabbed where he said he wanted to go down as the best player of all time, like it was a legit possibility.
He also said after winning the 3-point contest this year that he was “one of the greatest shooters in NBA history”. The guy’s a ball player for sure, but I don’t know if he’s even top 20 of his generation. He clearly suffers from delusions of grandeur. I really hope the Magic play like they want it tonight.
Orlando probably won’t break 70, what a pathetic performance this turned out to be. The C’s defense continues to just smother people in this 6 game winning streak they have going now.
