The teams everyone said sucked midway through the season sans LA are in the semis in the west: spurs, jazz and suns.

My wish is for that to happen and to have Dirk to come to Phoenix reunite with Nash and win the title they would’ve won if Cuban wasn’t a dumbass. Oh and Finally the Sun’s will get revenge for the Finals the Spurs took away from them along with the shitty NBA officials.
You know what man? I feel like the league fucked the Suns out of a title shot the year Horry clotheslined Nash. Horry only gets suspended for a game, but so do Stoudamire and Bell, when both literally sat back down when they realized they were violating some absurd rule. Not saying they would’ve won, but they definitely woulda beat the Spurs. That changed the whole complexion of the series.
Man you have no idea how pissed I was during that series. It’s all coming back I might go and burn my Ginobli shirt (that’s right real fans wear jersey shirts haha)
My thoughts exactly. I was literally seeing red after that whole ordeal. I never really liked the spurs, but after that series I hate them with a passion, no matter who’s playing for them. It’s so bad I’d actually root for the lakers over them, and that’s really saying something… lol
The suns now have an opportunity for some well deserved payback. Suns in 6.
I figured this was going to be a series and it looks like it will be. Celtics-Cavs tied at 1 game apiece heading back to Boston. The Celts almost had an epic collapse there at the end but pulled it out.
LeBruised
That wasn’t the same Cavs defense I’ve been watching all season, to the Celtics credit that isn’t the same anything they put forth in the regular season either but we all knew they’d be that Spurs type of team to turn it up for playoff time. Seriously though, someone make Rasheed take a contested shot, makes me mad =/

I know I took a jab at LeBron two posts ago but thats only 'cuse I love him and he underperformed in G2.
Disregarding that, LeBron is the best NBA player right now. 2010 is LeBron’s year. Fuck it. When was the last time basketball saw a athlete as skilled, athletic and charismatic as LeBron. Ever since he came into the league basketball hasn’t been the same.
Kobe not that long ago? Shaq?
If you asked me to give you three players that STAND OUT in the last 20 years I’d say: 1) MJ 2) Magic and 3) Lebron.
The reason a lot more people like Kobe compared to LeBron (making Lebron the subject of jokes and rhetoric of how Kobe dominates LeBron) is because Kobe hasn’t done anything except consistently talk with his play. You don’t see him in as many ads, out about in public and talking to the media. He’s a shy guy. He’s one of the best basketball players but thats it.
The guys I mentioned 1)2) and 3) just have something about them that makes them special. They’re multifaceted.
Shaq fits that category too.
^ I think part of the reason Kobe gets more credit then lebron as well is that he’s not quite as physically imposing, he must rely on skill rather than size more the Lebron does. Lebron can absolutely wear down most defenders with his strength and size, Kobe isn’t the type to wear them down, but he will beat them again and again and make them doubt themselves mentally. I think thats part of the reason that although Lebron is doing more then Kobe, Kobe is still debated as being better. Just my 2 cents.

Dude, you really need to pay closer attention to the game. Magic retired almost 20 years ago and wasn’t the player in the 90’s that he was in the 80’s, so that’s out. Jordan was RETIRED for a 1/3rd of the decade, and Hakeem Olajuwon dominated the center position when it was at it’s most stacked point in league history. The 3 best players in the past 20 years would be Jordan, Olajuwon, Bryant. Shaq could probably be interchangeable with Dream if you really wanted. I’m trying to cut you some slack 'cause you’re overseas but you keep making some pretty boneheaded comments about the league, players, and basketball in general.
Wow, way to go ATL for not showing up for Game 1

Magic still had INFLUENCE in the 90s and Jordan dominated the 90s. LeBron/Kobe are dominating the 2000s but Kobe doesnt stand out as much as 'bron because he had Shaq for awhile and pretty much sucked (his team) until Gasol came.
You can say whatever you want about my opinion but theres no doubt LeBron is in the mix. To say its boneheaded I think is just being arrogant because you’re measuring it on your own opinion.
Basically what I’m getting at is Kobe fans need to start appreciating LeBron more. They taunt what they fear.
I’m a Kobe fan and I appreciate LeBron and take nothing away from him. But lets not start talking about who’s better until Lebron does what Kobe has done.
I’m also shocked people think Kobe is more appreciated than Lebron!? Its the other way around in my experience.

Dude, LeBron is going to be like Karl Malone until he wins a title and gets that monkey off his back. Thems the breaks in the NBA. You get measured by titles. LeBron has none (yet). And as for Kobe’s team sucking until Gasol came, you’re right. It’s kinda like Dwayne Wade and Miami. Dwayne is still great and willed his team much further than they should have gone otherwise because they suck. Same thing with those years between Shaq and Gasol. That man willed his team to success way more than it should have accomplished with absolute shit around him. For God sakes, the guy scored 81 points in a game and has 4 titles to his name.
I’m not saying LeBron can’t get there. He’s uber-talented. But I think everyone is willing to crown this guy the King’s shit when he hasn’t accomplished that much yet beyond some individual accomplishments (2 MVPs). It’s still early in his career so he gets a pass…for now.
And by the way, to all the earlier naysayers that were predicting the Lakers were going to be upset some time in the western conference; are you guys willing to concede now that the Lakers WILL make it back to the finals??? This Utah series is what I call an “intermission series” for the Lakers. There just too big for Utah. And San Antonio or Phoenix will not upset the Lakers either.
What they accomplish in the finals is a lot murkier. Can they win it again this year? Yes. I think Bynum’s health will actually have a lot to do with it. They will definitely have a hard time with the Cavs or the Magic and either of those two can win it as well this year. That’s if the Cavs can make it past the Celts even.
I’m seriously doubting the cavs will make it past the Celtics. They have successfully taken away the home court advantage and almost beat them the first game. The cavs are lucky it’s not a 0-2 series.
My only question is who’s going to play the lakers for all the marbles, the celtics or orlando?? My money is on Orlando, but this will be the only time that I’m rooting for the celtics to step it up.
I know what you mean. I’d rather the Lakers see the Celtics in the Finals than Orlando. With a healthy Jameer Nelson this year, they may end up being too much and they’ll be looking for revenge.

Currently Lebron James is a better player even if James wins 0-1 championships he will likely go down as being better than Kobe. Kobe had Shaq Bron doesn’t.

You do watch the NBA right? I mean, LeBron currently plays with Shaq
And Kobe won a ring without him too…
Would you use the same shaq argument if cleveland wins this year? “LeBron only won cause of Shaq”
I saw someone call LeBron ‘charasmatic’ maybe that’s what you call it in the US, here in Australia we call it being a C*nt. The guy is a real prick and I wouldn’t be surprised if he bails on cleveland for next season after they bought an entire league of free agents over the last 2 years to try and win him a ring.
On a serious note, I think the lakers have a real shot this year, especially with how well the big men are playing and Kobe is back to his best at the back end of games.
I think it will be the same finals series as last year, and it will come down to how well Howard can handle the Bynum/Gasol team.
