2010 NBA Playoff Thread Part 2: The Return

Thanks Larry!

If Lakers win and Big baby starts crying you should use that as your new avatar!!! lol

Did you guys read this column on Kobe? I think it describes him well.

I want to say the Lakers will win, but it’s still hard to tell.

Perkins is out [sorry to hear btw] so Gasol/Bynum should have it easier as Garnett and Big Baby just won’t be as effective. I fully expect the let-Rondo-shoot strategy to work again, as he’s shit at jumpers. And that’s big because they can defend the others easier when they leave Rondo open-- it’s a shame other teams didn’t think to do this.

At the same time Bynum is no guarantee. Artest is almost guaranteed not to play as well as last game, and his 15 points came early and were crucial in game 6.

I’m going with LA today, but only because the weaknesses I mentioned for LA aren’t certain to hinder LA like the ones I mentioned for Boston, and because Boston has more of them.

But I’m not too confident.[/quote]

Now that I think of it…

Artest may not play well today offensively like on Tuesday, but it’s most likely that Fisher won’t get into foul trouble like he did in Game 6. So while I doubt Artest will hit those timely 3’s today, Fisher’s quite good at that!

And I think the ref’s have had enough with Sheed. They’ve gotten him in foul trouble as soon as he’s gotten on the court for the past 3 games. It’s not like he doesn’t deserve it, though.

Lastly, while Ray Allen may have gotten his stroke back Shrek and Donkey may have more than accounted for that. Big Baby got in foul trouble in Game 6, and while that may not happen today, he will have to spend more time guarding Gasol just like last game so it’s definitely a possibility. And Nate took some dumb shots last time, and he’s not a very smart player so it can happen again. The only reason no one noticed he takes bad shots is because he made a bunch of them in Game 7 vs the Magic, and Game 5 of the Finals.

Oh–and Fisher was in foul trouble and couldn’t be a pest for Allen in Game 6 either, so it might help if Fisher isn’t in that predicament tonight. Maybe Allen will go back to missing shots.

So…more confident in the Lakers now :D. Just don’t let Artest and Vujachic take too many shots.

BOSTON SUCKS BALLS… It’s science

I loved that article. Sums up Kobe perfectly. Sitting in the parking lot with car as my girl go gets cash to pay for parkig. She went to the first ATM and there’s no cash left in it so now she has to walk another four blocks to the next one.

I’m so freaking excited I can barely stand it. The energy here is unreal. I have a couple of Lakers flags posted on each passenger window on my car and I’m getting raucous cheers from all walks of life that are united for this singular event tonight. It’s another perfect sunny day in LA and I’m listening to some Snoop Dogg on the radio waiting to go to LA Live and party!

I can’t be more excited right now.

It’s a beautiful day and it smells like Celtic blood!

Red Auerbach just got on a ghost train going to staples to help the celtics win!! Celtics will win!!!

Ha ha!

And to think that at the start of the playoffs I was hoping for a Cleveland-LA Finals if Phoenix didn’t make it out of the West.

A LOT of people were hoping for Cleveland-LA for the past two years. This is MUCH better. This is a real rivalry. This year and the past two years, the Lakers and Celtics have had quite the competition with each other.

Regardless of who wins tonight, I wouldn’t mind a Celtics-Lakers Finals next year… if the Suns don’t come out of the West. LeBron-Kobe can wait.

^^hahahaha already looking forward to next year huh? Thats exactly how I was at the end of last season when the Cavs got Shaq and the Magic go Carter… I was really excited for the playoffs already but that didnt really work out so well for those two teams…

LOL yeah.

Last years free agency period was nice too, but this year will be insane. If LeBron goes to the Bulls and/or Bosh and Wade in Miami…shit will go down.

an hour away!!! Celtics vs lakers game 7… winner takes all!!!

yeah the free agent market could get wild this year. I mean no matter what happens I still like the Lakers chances of making it to a fourth consecutive NBA Finals as long as Jackson stays. They’ll have everyone back

.greg.

^^ I totally agree.

I’m in line for beer in the lobby and there’s a wicked loud cheer for “Let’s Go Lakers” clap clap… Clap clap clap. The energy is unbelievable!
