2010 NBA Playoff Thread Part 2: The Return

ok Rand I am super jealous that you’re going to the game tonight so I had to take a trip down memory lane. I went to game 1 of last years conference finals and so I was reliving the moment by looking through the pics I have… I throw one up to show my support… although we’re much closer than “halfway home” at this point  GO LAKERS!!!

couldnt swap pics so i’ll just upload a non tiny version

EDIT: also I might have been slightly intoxicated at this point

For you guys who made bets that the Celtics are going to win this game are freaking insane. Whoever has won the rebounding battle has won every single one of these games. Perkins is now out. And you think the Celtics are going to win the rebound battle in game 7 on the Lakers home floor?!? Again, you are all insane.

Nomorewar, get ready for that avatar change.
not worried.Sheed and big baby are gonna spread the floor against the lakers. Its all good.

I’ll give you this. You are at least sticking with the team to the very end no matter how ludicrous it is. You’re definitely going down with the ship!

lakers fan in newyork?? gtfo!
I hate NY almost as much as I hate Boston. FYI I’m a Denver Broncos fan, and a Chicago Blackhawks fan. I AM a Mets fan, but only because I feel like they are the Anti Yankees and I hate the Yankees. NY City thinks it’s soooooo cool, fuck at least boston can pretty much stand on its own, I mean NY city gets subsidized by the rest of the fucking state it’s so pathetic. They just tried to run a huge power line through our corridor. It would have taken out little towns and villages like crazy. Main St Clayville, founded by Henry Clay, would have been tore down under the proposal. The reason this “Needed” to be done? NY City needed more and cheaper power. So some company from canada would supply cheaper power to NY city and our energy costs were actually going to INCREASE as a result.

My brother in law is from the bronx, his family came up to visit and I was talking to his sister. I told her how horrible it was they were going to try and wipe out all these small towns and villages. Her response… Stop being so selfish, millions of people in NY need that cheaper power. I just got up and walked away before I started flipping out on her.

Where has whiteflash been lately??? He stopped posting all of a sudden

I want to say the Lakers will win, but it’s still hard to tell.

Perkins is out [sorry to hear btw] so Gasol/Bynum should have it easier as Garnett and Big Baby just won’t be as effective. I fully expect the let-Rondo-shoot strategy to work again, as he’s shit at jumpers. And that’s big because they can defend the others easier when they leave Rondo open-- it’s a shame other teams didn’t think to do this.

At the same time Bynum is no guarantee. Artest is almost guaranteed not to play as well as last game, and his 15 points came early and were crucial in game 6.

I’m going with LA today, but only because the weaknesses I mentioned for LA aren’t certain to hinder LA like the ones I mentioned for Boston, and because Boston has more of them.

But I’m not too confident.

Damn Larry, you sound like me before game 6. The Lakers will win this game.

Not only will they win, I’m betting they will dominate!

I really think so too. I think they’ll do what they did last night and blow it open in the second quarter. Rasheed is going to start, get in foul trouble, Lakers will dominate the glass, push the tempo and the second half will be one long party.

I think the Lakers dominate from the start, Boston begins to make adjustments, begins chipping away at the Laker lead then in the 4th quarter the Lakers release their wrath and step on their throats!!!

Today’s my birthday, so if this doesn’t happen and by some miracle the Celtics win I’m throwing a very justified temper tantrum. I may even start throwing my cake around!

Andrew, Happy Birthday! What a day to have a birthday! With the Lakers delivering a championship against the hated Celtics on your birthday! Right on!

Thanks, yes it will be great!

Now when you get on tv because you’re gunna be the crazy guy in the purple hippo costume can I get a happy bday shout out?? C’MON!!! lol
