Anyone else worried that if Boston comes to LA and Lakers lose there is going to be a pretty serious riot?? No bullshit, we’re talking about a fan base that riots even when we win, imagine if Boston comes to the Staples Center and wins the Championship?!?!
I’d like to be the first to predict that in the off chance that the Lakers lose one of the next 2 games, there will be a serious riot afterwards.
on the off chance that the lakers lose?? off chance?? some of you guys are making it seem like its automatic laker victories. The celtics are 2-1 this year against the lakers at staples, and bynum will be worst then ever for game6/7.
on the off chance that the lakers win the series,i’ll lose 200 bucks.Thats more like it.
LMAO, I like how I can pose a question, but instead of focusing on what was asked, you focused on 2 words in my question and turned that into the issue. It is still an off chance because Lakers are still favored to win. As Kobe Bryant put it, “if you told me at the beginning of the year that weâ??ve got two games at home to win a championship, yeah, Iâ??ll take that”.
The only thing that separates the Lakers from a Championship is 2 home games that they have to win. They are still the team to beat and the pressure is on Boston to bring it to a team that has one hellofa at home record. So yes, OFFCHANCE
The lakers are still favored to win? does it matter what the experts think at this point… most of them picked lakers in 6 and did so thinking bynum was gonna be healthy. the c’s have a great road record and like ive said… they have beaten the lakers in staples twice this year. Oh btw, all the pressure is on the lakers… they are at home, they are the champs.nobody expected the c’s to be here.
this whole “the pressure is on the Lakers” or “the pressure is on the Celtics” argument is dumb. The pressure is on both fucking teams in the damned NBA FINALS!!! You think either one of these teams hasn’t felt pressure to win every game so far? Does anyone really think the Celtics believe “well no one thought we should be here and we’re only one win away from the championship so good for us. No pressure to close this series out.” Come on now lets be honest.
The C’s regular season win at Staples was without Kobe Bryant playing, and their other win was with the refs handing them the game on a silver platter. This series should be 3-2 Lakers, but it’s not. The reality is it’s 3-2 Celtics, and even though both teams have a shit ton of pressure the Lakers have their backs against the wall. We know Kobe will go out swinging, but will his teammates have his back? I’ve said it since last off-season, said it throughout the playoffs and I’m saying it now: Ron Artest does not know how to play winning basketball, and getting rid of Ariza was a boneheaded move.
He needs to play HIS role on the team, not try and be the premature hero. Gasol needs to start taking it to Garnett again, 'cause the last few games Garnett has been in his ass and Gasol has all but disappeared. Jackson needs to put in Mbenga if for no other reason than to lay the fucking wood on people for 10 minutes and make 'em hesitant to get in the lane. Lamar Kardashian is playing like he’s wearing his old lady’s garter belt, and pretty much the entire bench has been MIA. I’m so frustrated. I’m gonna be on a plane tomorrow night, does anyone know if flights show regular tv?

ok … good points… now lets be honest now… you really think that loser odom and artest is gonna help the lakers down the stretch in a tight game?? i really think that the lakers lost this series when bynum got hurt.

if they go on to lose the series I would 100% agree with that. Odom and Artest have proven to ben non factors in these finals. I mean they have 2 games (well one game really) to turn that around but I just dont see that happening

So it’s not just me, others agree that it’s ridiculous that mbenga hasn’t seen any playoff time! The guy brings a shit load of energy, strength, and he contests EVERY shot. Maybe not the most skilled player in the world, but it’s obvious Phil doesn’t trust him, but I say play the hand you’re delt and use what you got. Mbenga on Perkins is a GREAT matchup. Perkins isn’t much of a scorer so there’s no real threat there, but Mbenga is stronger and more athletic and has some serious hops for a big guy. He can definitely get some boards and tire Perkins out a bit in the process, if nothing else he can fould the shit outta him as he tends to do and frustrate him. Mark my words, Mbenga is the key to this series!!!
Okay that last part was a joke, but I’d kill to see him match up with Perkins.

Hey don’t turn my joke into the fact that we’re desparate. IT WAS A JOKE! Nothing more. I just want to see Mbenga in there because I wanna see how he matches up and I like the guy. He’s humble, doesn’t try to be more than he is, and gives 110%. I feel bad for the guy, he’s one of the lowest paid players on the team and despite his efforts it seems he will never be anything more than a EMERGENCY USE ONLY player while playing for the Lakers.

You want who in the game?
Thats the GUY!!! I’d rather have Mbenga in their face and them dunk on him, then Rondo continue to get to the hoop COMPLETELY uncontested because Bynum is gympin around, Gasol has lost his drive, and Odom forgot his tampons. Fuck that, put Mbenga in the game to knock some heads around for 5-8 min. and change the energy level of the game is all I’m saying.
