Did you hear the quote from the president of the BCS yesterday? I couldnt find it today (didnt look hard either I am at work) but he was saying how all the players in the D1 football dont want a playoff like the D2 etc. The players want things to stay the same. What a crock of horse shit.
Yes, Cam’s issue.

Player’s don’t want to play more? That’s silly. What’s more true is that a lot of players are probably not happy with their particular bowl destinations or the matchups, but those are determined contractually by conference tie-ins. Unfortunately it’s the only post season choice they get.

It’s also silly to say that a playoff would interfere with academics when most of the games would be over Christmas Break.
As president of the BCS he has a dog in this fight and his opinion is tainted.

so SEC predictions? BCS bowl predictions?

like i’ve said from the beginning i don’t see USC (south carolina) putting up much of a fight against Auburn… Auburn should roll i’m thinking by 9 or more…

The BCS is for making money. Thats it, nothing else. There will not be a playoff until the schools can get more money from the playoff system than the current system.

I remember. TCU got slapped almost as hard. What happened to the Aggies? Not much.
We moved to Texas when I was 10 years old, the school I went to was the Mustangs. So of course this was shortly after the Dickerson time in college, so we were all SMU fans. Man that school has NEVER come back, I dont think June can even resurrect them.
Don’t look now but SMU is in their conference championship game.

Hahahahaha insert foot in mouth. Still not anywhere near where it was.

Just flipped it on when I got back from work, but the ending to that Miami (OH) vs Northern Illinois game was pretty sick. Converting on 3rd and 25 and then scoring a TD with less than a minute to play was a nice treat to see.

In three years, our coach took us from “cupboards bare” to a possible/likely BCS bowl. I’m feeling vindicated over wanting that fuckwit Houston “The Right Reverend” Nutt fired and finding someone else.

x2…million

Anybody else notice that A&M beat both of the teams that were in the Big 12 title game?

Anyway, Cotton Bowl bound!

You know who I feel bad for… Boise State. I still think they made that first kick at the end of regulation but I guess we’ll never know.

Now they have to watch TCU play in the Rose Bowl… the same TCU team that they beat last year in their bowl… and Boise basically has their exact same team back… that sucks for them. No way they get an at large bid even though they’ll be ranked in the top 10… sucks for them.

So what are peoples predictions for the NC game? Oregon vs Auburn??? Lets hear it

Auburn will win.

It will be a close game, its going to be a great game to watch, but I believe Auburn can match Oregons speed and is overall bigger and more physical. It will be close though.

I’ll take Oregon and let my west coast / Pac-10 bias shine through. I think the pace of the Oregon offense is just to fast for Auburn, especially if the Tigers dig themselves a hole like they usually do.

Don’t sleep on Oregon’s defense either, their unit is 14th in the country in points against.

Interesting side note, but I wonder if the amount of prep time that Auburn will have to study Oregon’s offense will make a difference…

what can I say, I have a Southern bias.

That is an interesting side note, I think it will make a difference, but on the flip side, Oregon can study Auburn as well.

Oregon’s offense is a little more intricate, and has a lot more looks than Auburn. I just think if I had to pick who the longer break would favor, I would go with the Tigers.

Bah. You people and your level-headed discussions on this match up. I had this all ready to go, just to find reasonable people on here. Damn your eyes.

Oregon’s speed is overrated. Auburn will take it by 2 TD’s.

I’ll take auburn easily… i think auburn’s defense is underrated and they should come up with a few stops… also auburn this year if nothing has shown its resiliency… it should be a good game…

anyone see the bowl schedule… UCF, USF, FSU, UM, and UF all made bowl games… should be interesting… as my brother in law mentioned there quite a few storylines too

FSU vs USC (south carolina): ole ball coach vs his rival back when he coached UF
UM vs notre dame (catholics vs convicts part deux)

My wife is an A&M fan and still learning about football. I gave up trying to explain how this happened. Personally I think its horseshit, but I am sure there are many on here that will patiently explain to me how Oklahoma AGAIN jumps teams due to technical issues instead of winning on the field.

The question should be Greg how many points will be scored. I mean it will have to be the highest scored BCS game in history. Are we going to have final scores in the 40’s, 50’s?

Auburn by 4 points on Cam late minute drive and score by him running in a TD.
