@willybrokeback you would be MUCH better off taking a SERM such as Nolvadex/Tamoxifen than taking an AI. An AI will block estrogen everywhere whereas a SERM will block activity at the receptor site which is what you want. You can take something like that temporarily until the symptoms are resolved, wean yourself off, and then you typically wouldn’t need it anymore. Some guys get these lumps when they first start on TRT due to the hormone fluctuations that their bodies are not used to. You could also lower the dose, as you have, and once symptoms have resolved you can try to raise the dose again slowly over time instead of all at once.
Ok- I misspoke. I am taking Novadex- I have anastrozole, but am not using that anymore. So once the symptoms go away, I will ween off and see how things go. Thanks for the input.
I am 100% right with you, been on TRT since 09/2018, ups and downs, lately as I increase my dose, went from .25ml to .3ml 2x a week and I keep track of how I am doing and my erecetions. The past two times around weeks 5-7 my erections are way harder and my wife of 20 years notices. after week 10 all that magic dissapears, this time I actually reached out to Dbossa and had my labs done today. It has to be free T, I figure when I increase my dose it takes about 5 weeks for my erections to get amazing, then I believe SBGH and E2 catch up and ruin my fun. I asked me Dr to allow me to try 200mg per week and go from there.
I was doing 100 twice a week in hopes it would help me better manage e2 so I wouldn’t have to take my AI. I just felt like crap breaking my dose up. I really don’t notice the high and lows some people experience. Maybe on the sixth day I feel a tad slower. So I’m now back to 200mg a week .25 AI 24 hour after injection. Acne on my back is clearing up some and morning wood has returned. When I was doing 100 twice a week with no AI, I got greasy as hell and my back acne blew up!
I have been on trt for 20 years now spent over 15 years on 250mg every 2 weeks didn’t now there was any other way lol. Felt great I don’t really get the ups and downs for some reason I had no clue about shbg or al’s heck sometimes I would forget what week I was on and forget to take my shot didn’t really even notice a difference.
Only reason I changed was got some blood work done and noticed I was starting to have issues with high hematocrit.
Was it the best protocol by today’s standard no but it worked just fine for allot of years. Everyone reacts differently
I should probably start a thread. I’ve already hijacked this one.
Just so I understand…
The theory is that it’s not high estradiol that’s causing my symptoms that I’ve thought require an AI, it’s the hormonal fluctuations from peaks and valleys, due to too infrequent injections? And over time, lower amounts of test in each injection, along with more frequent injections, should alleviate the symptoms, which should erase my feeling of needing an AI?
Exactly… works virtually every time. As long as people continue to blame estrogen for their issues they will never figure out what the ACTUAL reason is. Like I said, some guys do great with once weekly injections. Others need some tweaking.
Here’s the other cool thing I’m seeing:
Some guys up their dose, move to daily, and things improve. After some time they move to EOD and eventually twice weekly injections and things remain stable. At the end of the day we are all different and your ‘best’ protocol will be different from everyone else. I am simply convinced, absolutely, that AIs should be avoided at all cost.
Endothelial dysfunction, impaired glucose and lipid metabolism, decreased vasodilatory effect in response to exercise (AAS in high dosages also cause this… and endothelial dysfunction), neurological dysregulation, if E2 is crashed/tanked decreases in BMD/increased incidence or risk for fractures, joint pain/connective tissue ailment (once again with crashed E2).
Sorry for late replies, been a bit hectic recently, the day after my birthday was dgkjadgjkfdsngkjasenrjksadfasd
Didn’t get to hook up, my party was small. In two days i’ve got another party (very large, staying sober though, there was only a five day break between this one and the next and that’s not a long enough break…) and then another one two weeks after that, we will see what happens.
But the other assumption is correct, the hangover that ensued the next day was fairly horrific
I am speaking in extremely loose concept terms and all I know is 3 different times I increased my dose I had similar experiences week by week. I know the timing and actual process might not take that long but I reiterate what @dbossa is saying and feel my libido and erections are more tied to my FreeT and not E.
Guess you haven’t worked with too many people, being a troll and all. I have. Cold turkey doesn’t work out for a lot of guys. Weaning off slowly makes the transition more bearable in order to avoid a huge fluctuation and estrogen rebound. This is common sense for most people. Just not for trolls.
