As a Raiders fan I am happy a 15 sack guy is out of the division.
As a Broncos fan I’d like to inform you that despite Jared Allen leaving the division you remain a Raiders fan, and therefore have nothing to be happy about.

I was happy about the chiefs and broncos both having losing records last season. Granted the Raiders where worse but at this point I am happy for the little things.
Good for the Vikes, but it’s too bad we Packers are going to have to run their asses into the ground twice again this year. (I can’t even say that without cringing - come on, Rodgers.)
As for the Vince Young debate, looking at the Titans this year (or especially last year) reminds me of one certain team, the '06-'07 Patriots. Think about it, Brady had NO ONE to throw to all year. The biggest name they had was… Jabaar Gaffney? Exactly. Granted, I think everyone around here will agree TB is better than VY, but I think a quarterback should elevate the play of his team, good receivers or not. All I’m saying is that that defense has been more of an attributing factor to their [mild] success compared to VY. That, and he has a fat face.
The Chiefs are definitely the focus of the draft now. Hopefully we can pick up Chris Long with the 5th pick. I’m hearing a lot about Dorsey to the Rams, so Long should be there at 3. I now think we should try to trade up to make sure we get him. If him and Gholston are gone by 5, we will be reaching for just about anybody and with all the picks we have it is senseless to trade down.
With the 17 pick we draft best O-lineman available, possibly try to trade up here also to get Branden Albert. We could just sit still and hope Jeff Otah is available. I don’t like Ryan Clady, though. Many rumors that he is lazy and unmotivated.
If we manage to get a starting DE and OT with our first two picks. I think we should just draft best available the rest of the way. You figure we need a CB, OG, C, WR, QB, FB, and depth everywhere and the best available is the best way to go. May want to get away from this a bit and pick up Brohm in the 2nd, followed by Jordy Nelson in the third. It’s just too hard to say after DE and OT, though. There are just way too many needs.
I just hope we don’t blow everything and take Matt Ryan.

I think this QB class is collectively horrible. Everyone says Matt Ryan is the best, but I’m not sure. Personally, I think Henne has the best chance at being the best in the Draft.
On QBs, I hate how all the “experts” are saying that the Ravens need a QB in the Draft. Did anyone watch Troy Smith play last season? He balled it up, even though I don’t think he’s won a game. He’s the real deal, and they’re fools if they listen to the media.
Troy Smith beat the Steelers in the season finale. I distinctly remember screaming at the TV for a full 3 hours.

I saw the Long signing coming. Miami’s OL was horrible, and is their biggest concern. Parcells had his way in making a mammoth OL in Dallas, and Long just seems like a Parcells type of player.
I don’t care if it’s Bo Jackson, no RB warrants a top 10 pick in today’s NFL, let alone a #1. The 5 guys in front of him are so much more important to a team’s success than he ever could be. I think the Jets take McFadden anyway.
My guesses for the rest of the top 10 are:
Rams: Dorsey
Falcons: Ryan
Raiders: C. Long
Chiefs: Gholston
Jets: McFadden
Patriots: Will trade down or reach on a defensive back who will become a perennial pro-bowler
Bengals: Harvey
Saints: Rivers
No way the Raiders pick Long. Al Davis and his dad had quite the falling out way back in the day. But then again, Davis is a crazy old bastard, so anything is possible. He might draft Howie Jr. just to make his life miserable. I know I would hate to be drafted by that disaster of a franchise if I were a top 5 prospect.
Chiefs - A lot of draft picks is one thing. I’d feel better about it if that Jackass Peterson wasn’t running the show however. He will likely fuck up this wet dream also. I would have dealt Hali before Allen. I’m hoping to be proven wrong on all fronts.

Ideal picks for KC would be Chris Long @5 (he will be there if the Rams take Dorsey) and Otah or Vandy’s Chris Williams @17. I’m gun-shy on Branden Albert because he played G, not LT, in college. No telling how he will manage with the best pass-rushers in The League. And I want him to fall to 23 so the Steelers can pick him up to replace Faneca

So I hear on espn today that the Redskins offered the Bengals TWO first-round picks for Chad Johnson, and the Bengals said no.

The Bengals are doing this ONLY to piss Chad Johnson off. More power to them! I used to think that Chad was “the good guy,” just trying to have fun and win games at the same time. He raced against a horse for charity! However, the more I see and hear of this spectacle, the more I think that he’s just a crybaby. Yes, the Bengals need help on defense, but one could argue that they’re not far off from being contenders again. Chad’s got a top notch QB and a good friend in Who’s-Your-Momma (they went to college together). He’s a fool if he thinks that another team would be better.

You are exactly right as to their motivation, but it seems as though they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. He’s being an asshole, but hey, get rid of that asshole and help yourself out in the process. Having a pissing match doesn’t do them a bit of good.

I honestly don’t know what they’re going to do. They went out on a limb and straight up told the Eagles and other teams that a trade was out of the question. Part of me thinks they’re trying to get maximum possible value out of this, but another part of me thinks that they really don’t want to trade him.
2 first round picks is a GREAT deal. However, they dropped Chris Henry, so really, they only have Chad and Housh. Without Chad, it’s only Housh, and since it’s only Housh, it’s really no one, because everyone knows to cover him. There’s no WRs in this Draft, so they’re in quite a rut as far as personnel goes. They need defense, but a good work-in-progress defense is nothing with a work-in-progress offense, which is what they’d have if they got rid of Chad.

bullshit. what is up with all this henne talk? he was mediocre for four years at UM and all of a sudden he’s a first round pick. i wouldn’t be surprised colt brennan had a better career.
