Rip Hamilton drives on Ray Allen.

I wasn’t trying to be greedy, but I was logging on to ask you if you could get a pic of this dunk, but you beat me to it lol.
Looks like Ray is back in the groove. And how bout Kendrick Perkins coming up large today? That’s a nice surprise for Boston.
One more quarter to go, let’s see if the C’s can hold on.

Ha ha. Getting tight at the end. Here’s Ray:

Hate to say it, but Brent Barry deserved two shots in the end there. Fisher clearly fouled him. That was kind of bogus. But…
5 to go!!![/quote]
Jackson said it was a no call
Bryant said it was a no call
Fisher said it was a no call
Popovich said it was a no call
Even if it was a foul, he would have had the chance to TIE it.
If the ball had hit the rim like some said near the end, the Lakers almost for sure would have won it.
If they hadn’t called goaltending on Odom’s block they almost would have won for sure.
Lakers won, end of story.
You know, Eielson, it helps if you read the rest of the thread before jumping in to respond to something out of context.
Damn, Pistons did a great job down the stretch, but Boston held on. I do not see this series ending in Detroit on Friday.
Wednesday, May 28th Recap:
- Celtics defeat 2) Pistons 106-102: Kevin Garnett finished with 33 points, Ray Allen had 29 points, and the Celtics take a 3-2 series lead. Chauncey Billups had 26 points, and Rip Hamilton had 25 for the Pistons, who now have their backs against the wall.
Stud of the Night: Kevin Garnett. Bigtime performance from The Big Ticket, finishing with 33 points and 7 boards, and his C’s move one game closer to reaching the NBA Finals.
Co-stud of the Night: Kendrick Perkins. What a game for KP, finishing with 18 points and 16 boards. Even though most of his damage came in the first three quarters, a great game for the young big man in a big playoff game.
Man, that was close for the Celtics! Up 15, then the Pistons closed it to 1 point. The look on Stuckey’s face when he missed the free throw was horrible for him and Pistons fans in general. They put up a fight though.
I agree with MV, I think the Pistons win game 6 in Motown, and it goes to Game 7…again, for the Celtics.
Boston certainly can’t win easy, wow. They learned (almost) the hard way in Games 3 and 5 that Detroit will not roll over and die, you have to kill Detroit.
The C’s need to absorb those lessons and apply them to the series as a whole. Boston, metaphorically speaking, is leading the series by ten points entering the fourth quarter. The Pistons are going to do in Games 6 and 7 what they did in the fourth quarters of Games 3 and 5.
Boston better be ready to rumble, or they’ll be watching the Finals from home.
Huge first half for Perkins. So huge that he was spent by halftime.
Also, how did P.J. Brown’s foul in the first half earn a flagrant, and Paul Pierce’s tackle of Chauncey Billups in the third quarter did not even lead to free throws?

For whatever it’s worth, the NBA says it was a foul.
But it’s over and done with; the Lakers won. And they should’ve won, they played better long before the final buzzer.

Also agree.

Yeah, I should read 22 pages just to make sure that your post means what it says.
Anyone else hear Rasheed’s comments on the officiating after the game? That dude was pissed! There’s a fine in his future.

Then surely you read the post I made after that were I retracted my initial reaction, after having reviewed the play again?

I didn’t read your post and then look through every single page looking for just your posts to make sure that I knew your true opinion.

I have to agree with TGunslinger and deputydawg: that should have been whistled on the ground, so two shots in the penalty.
I’m still unsure of which MAJOR mental mistake amazed me most: Bryant trying to go coast-to-coast when LAL didn’t need a score, Fisher leaving his feet period, or Barry not jumping directly into a compromised Fisher.
I guess I’m leaning towards Bones Barry: if he even just stands there, he gets two or three free throws. By putting the ball on the floor and appearing to try and go AROUND Fisher, he basically did the worst thing possible.

I totally agree with Chillain. Bones Barry did the worst possible thing. Manu was playing terrible, but if that had been Manu he would have stood his ground and then launched his three jumping directly into Fisher then he would have flown back into the scoring table. Gone to the line and nailed all three free throws.
