2006-2007 Fantasy Football Thread

Ok, so last night I had my Yahoo automated draft and here’s what I got.

QB - Delhomme, Plummer
WR - Holt, Burress, D. Branch, D. Givens, I. Bruce
RB - Tomlinson, W. Parker, D. Foster, C. Brown
TE - Gates, J. Stevens
K - Feely, Janikowski
DEF - Balt., NYJ

So, I dropped Janikowski and picked up Duckett off of waivers. Also dropped NYJ DEF and picked up Brandon Jacobs off of waivers.

Overall i’m really pleased with my team and think I have a great shot at winning again.

I can’t believe I got Tomlinson with the 4th pick of the draft. Peyton went 3rd. Some of the guys in this league make some real bonehead moves.

Nice squad. Should have great shot at winning. I would drop Stevens and pick up Michael Turner to hand cuff LT.

Did you pick up Wali Lundy in any of your leagues? I took him in two, even paid a fee in one. I saw him play at VA and the boy is for real.

They say Dom may not even make the team. I dont think they can put him on PUP since he passed his physical earlier. So if goes out on IR I think he can come back week 7 the earliest.

I’m in one league where I’m keeping one guy from last year.

My team was horrendous because I was a rookie at the shit, but hey…

Anyway, would you fellas keep Corey Dillon or Brian Westbrook? Those are my two best guys, but Dillon is old and hurt last year, and I heard about Westbrook’s incident this preseason.

Is it better off droppin both of them?

So how bout my boy Carson Palmer airing it out on MNF last night

I’m only in one league at the moment. Looking to join another if anyone has any openings.

My squad for my current league:

QB - Tom Brady
RB - Shaun Alexander
BR - Willis McGahee
WR - Plaxico Burress
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - Keenan McCardell
TE - Todd Heap
K - Jason Elam
Def - Chicago Bears

Bench Players:

QB - Byron Leftwich
RB - Kevin Jones
RB - DeAngelo Williams
RB - Vernand Morency
WR - Matt Jones
WR - Ashley Lelie
TE - Ben Watson
K - Olindo Mare
Def - Washington Redskins

10 team league, I picked 4th. I’m pretty happy with where I’m at.

By the way, $5 says McGahee breaks 1500 yards this season. Dre, I’m looking in your direction.

I like Westbrook but he wont stay healthy for every game. Dillon may go down again as well and Maroney will get a lot of carries. Whats the scoring format?

If you drop both, what are your options?

Yeah, I actually stopped my pickup of Brandon Jacobs so I could instead pick up Michael Turner. So, i’m good there.

I haven’t taken Wali Lundy in any of my leagues but i’ve read a lot about him. I’m looking to pick up some sleepers so maybe i’ll take a chance on him.

I’ve been rippin’ on my buddy who took Dom in our live draft league about this whole fiasco. He took him in the 3rd rd! I think he’s going to get cut. Yeah, they can’t put him on the PUP just like you said.

Lundy pronounced starter, nice got an xtra back in 3 ou tof 4 leagues and am second on waiver wire to pick him up tomorrow. Hope the guy in front of me in not paying attention.

Yeah he looked good. I want to see how he does after a few full games but it sure looks promising.

Hey, you got a pretty solid team man. You picked 4th and got Alexander? How the hell did that happen? Did some moron take Peyton in the top 3 like they did in my online draft? You might want to keep a close eye on Ben Watson. He is slowly becoming Tom Brady’s favorite target. Plus that would be double points for you everytime they hooked up. But McNair loves to throw to his TE’s also. I have Heap and hope he has a big year.

I got your $5 and my left nut that says McGahee doesn’t break 1500 yards this season. Ok, well maybe just the $5! LOL I thought that when I made a trade for him last year that I was going to make out like a bandit. I never even started the damn guy.

So, you don’t think I need the extra TE? And I should pick up Lundy? What about when Gates has his bye week? I guess I could just keep an extra WR and drop them or something.

I don’t know if it was that Carson Palmer looked that good. Or if the Packers looked that bad. Actually, it was both.

Damn, this is going to be a looong year for us Packers fans again.

Nice. So Alexander slipped to fourth? It would be great if you could package 2 of those WR’s for a top dog.

Stevens is hurt and you can get a bye week fill in TE from the waiver any day. If I had a chance to pick up a starting low end 2/3RB versus a low tier TE, I would not hesitate but thats me. Plus a shit load of stuff will happen between now and then anyway.

I dropped Vick for Lundy in one league. I have Eli and I would never start Vick over Eli in any week. If I need a bye week replacement I will pick up an Aaron Brooks off the waiver wire. If Eli goes down and I needed to start Vick every week I would play weekly match up with the waiver or trade for a QB, either way I am fucked if he goes down, see what I mean?

I gotcha man and consider the pick up pending.

Who should I start between Delhomme and Plummer? Just have it be a week to week thing depending on the team they play?

Here’s my team:

Starters:

QB Carson Palmer
RB Shaun Alexander
RB LaMont Jordan
RB Jamal Lewis
WR Larry Fitzgerald
WR Javon Walker
TE Alge Crumpler
D/ST Eagles
K Jay Feely

Bench:

QB - Jake Delhomme, Jon Kitna
RB - DeAngelo Williams, Jerious Norwood
WR - Matt Jones, Michael Clayton, Greg Jennings

I’m very please with my team. It is not without its risks though. I took some chances with Walker and Palmer returning from ACL surgery, Lewis could be past his prime and I’ve got more rookies than I’d like. I’m banking on DeShaun Foster going down at some point and Williams filling in and Norwood replacing Ducket as the goal line back or filling in for Dunn if he gets hurt. I had drafted Greg Jones intially but dropped him yesterday when I heared about the ACL tear and picked up Norwood.

Feedback?

Wtf? Were you drafting by yourself? Thats a great squad man. Jamal at RB3 is still very solid. I think Walker will be ok and if last night is any indication, so will Palmer.

Yeah I would play match up but most weeks it should be daylight come.

You have great talent and depth at QB, as Delhomme is a potential top 5 QB and obviously Palmer is if he stays healthy. Your WR’s are a little weak (just because I’m not very high on Walker or Jones… but some are), although if Matt Jones steps forward this year that could still be a strong point.

I like Clayton as a sleeper though and he could rebound more towards his rookie numbers with a change in the QB. Do you guys start 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex?
