A guy in my league just dropped Matt Jones. Does anyone think he’s a good pick up? I know he’s hurt right now and hasn’t done much but I have a spot for him and he has great potential. I’m debating between him, Reggie Williams, D. Williams, Michael Robinson, Jones-Drew, and Leinart.
I would pick up Reggie Williams if you need a WR. Groins and hamstrings sometimes linger for the whole season. Reggie Williams is playing huge right now and I think Leftwich will continue to look his way for the rest of the season. The longer Jones sits out the more trust Leftwich gains in Williams.

If you don’t need a WR I would go with DeAngelo Williams or Jones-Drew. Both have tremendous upside to them. Both should take over the starting spot at some point throughout the season. I would probably go with DeAngelo first though. The kids is a stud.

Not much you can do now. Have the commish talk to him and dont invite him back next year.

Charge for losses next year or have the guy that comes in last take you fools out to eat. Thats what we do in one league.
Yeah, I hear ya. I suggested we lock out his team and whoever plays him that week just gets a bye week. The Commish said he would update his team each week with the best players but that just doesn’t make sense.
chillain wrote:

After some thought, I also dropped Matt Jones since he’ll sit this week and be on bye for Week 6. I’ll prob try to pick him up again later, but groins and hamstrings (he’s hurt both) generally tend to linger.

What are your team’s needs? Reggie Williams should be on someone’s roster. And I still love DeAngelo’s upside.
I have a decent squad I’m just not getting the big points that I’m looking for. I really feel like I need a big time back or receiver. My current RB’s and WR’s are D. Driver, L. Coles, T. Glenn, H. Ward, C. Chambers, L. Jordan, S. Jackson, C. Taylor, and L. Maroney. QB’ are Bledsoe and Pennington. I’m 3-1 so far but I’m not winning by much. I’ve been getting a lot of yardage points but not many TD’s. Some of my guys finally came around last week so maybe I’m just being too anxious.

Anyway, I do have a roster spot available. Pitt is over its bye week and I like dre’s thoughts about carrying 1 defense instead of 2. I plan to cut Philly to pick up an extra skill player or a sleeper pick. I actually think I might go R. Williams or Michael Robinson. Williams is putting up nice numbers. Robinson is a wild card but will be getting the goal line carries. Plus, he is eligible to be played at RB or WR.

Alright fellas, I need a little help with my lineup this week. It seems that all of a sudden i’m having trouble trying to come up with a starting line for my draft league team.

Here’s my two questions.

Who to start at RB. Maroney or C. Taylor? I’m leaning towards Maroney because Taylor is not doing anything right now. Maroney plays the Dolphins and I think could have another big game. Taylor plays the Lions who are actually pretty good against the run.

And who to start at as my 3rd WR. Colston, Burress or Berrian. If I go by the numbers, I should play Burress. The Giants play the Skins this weekend and the Skins are giving up more yards passing than TB and Cleveland who Colston and Berrian play.

Plus, Burress is coming off a bye week and says he’s 100%. So, what do you guys think? Am I making the right moves?

I would start Maroney against the Dolphins. Detroit and Miami are both decent against the run. However, I think that the Pats are going to want to pound the crap out of the Dolphins due to all of the talk this year about how the Dolphins were supposed to challenge for the AFC East crown.

As for your receivers, I think Burress will have a big game. I think he’ll be playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Also, who is your tight end? Colston is available as a WR & TE if I’m not mistaken. Maybe you could line him up at TE and get 2 of your 3 options on the field together. Then you would have 4 big play receivers.

chillain and dre

Thanks for your responses. I ended up going with R. Williams. I just checked my injury reports and it looks like I might need a healthy, productive receiver. Coles and Driver are both listed as questionable for Week 5 and Ward is still not 100% and may not be this season.

Thanks guys.

Thanks, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Maroney and Burress. But Colston is just on fire right now. I hate to bench a guy who is putting up consistant numbers. And as we all know Burress can disappear at times. I’m really going to have to think about this one. But then again, if it wasn’t for Colston’s 86yd TD reception last week he would have had a bad week.

I agree with you that NE will probably try to pound the ball against the Fins. So, Maroney will get the start. But i’m sure this will be the week that Taylor finds the endzone. haha

Oh and in this league TEs count as WRs. We don’t have a seperate position to start TEs.

I like C Taylor this week. He’ll get at least 25 carries and that DET rush def is an illusion since they’re so bad against the pass.

I also think we’ve reached the point where Colston is a must-start every week.

I’ve talked so much shit this week in my fantasy league…I better be 5-0 by the end of this week.

Driver is hurt, I’m not sure whether he’ll start.

I did pick up Gabhriel for New England though, he should be a good pickup.
I’m not taking the chance, I got Driver benched. If you have a decent replacement, I wouldn’t risk it.

I just traded for TO in the league I am 4-0 in. I actually have won 15 straight dating back to last year.

This guy had no RB’s. I traded him Droughns, Berrian and Chambers for TO and Ward. I hope Ward will come around so I can trade him. I would love for Jamal and Ward to have a good game so I can combo them for a decent RB2.

My line up would be McNabb, Tiki, Westbrook, Jamal/Ward, Andre Johnson, TO, Heap, Gould and San Diego D, I like my chances.
Amsterdam Animal wrote:

How many teams in your league? And how have they allowed you to win so many? In the sixth year of our hardcore fourteen-teamer, the longest streak has been six.

Dre and Heap (and Wilkins) have been carrying my squad so far.

There are 12 teams in my league. This year McNabb, Westbrook and Andre Johnson have carried me. I also had Javon Walker and started Heat Miller on the right weeks. We start 2rb and 2WR with a flex being a rb/wr. I have started 3 rb’s just about every game and drafted with that objective in mind. My number one pick Tiki hasnt performed like the Tiki of last year. I got Mcnabb and Johnson fairly late so I went RB in the first three rounds of the draft.

Last year, I started Tiki, Portis, Chad Johnson, Boldin and Chambers. I also had Dillon. My QB was shaky but I got by with Warner/McCown and Kerry Collins. I have made great trades in the past getting rid of guys weeks before they got hurt and acquiring guys that were high risk high reward. Also playing the waiver wire and making 2-1 deals have helped.

My thing has always been risky trading, giving up depth for studs and hoping they dont go down. It has paif off.

Well, i’ve got C. Taylor on my bench this week. Detroit’s rush defense is currently 2nd in the league. I’m staring Maroney instead. However, Miami’s rush defense is pretty stout also. But, I like my chances with Maroney more than Taylor. If the Lions watch how the Bills shut him down last week i’m sure they’ll be able to do the same. Besides, I would rather committ to stopping the run and try to let Brad Johnson beat me.

After thinking about it i’m going with Burress instead of Colston. The Redskins seem to be having problems stopping the pass so I think it’s a better option. Sorry AA, but it’s true.

I think that’s a hell of a trade. Good work. Good looking squad.

The Skins secondary is horrendous, Carlos Rogers gets burned a few times every week. We need Shawn Springs back but his groin has not gotten any better.

The Packers secondary isn’t any better. Atleast they finally cut Ahmad “I get a penalty on every play” Carroll. That guy sucked. And the addition of Charles Woodson hasn’t helped at all. Al Harris seems to play every once in a while and the linebackers can’t seem to cover anyone. Not to metion that Marquand Manuel can’t tackle, cover or break up a play. The defensive ends, Kampmann and KGB are horrendous at stopping the run or even getting to the QB most times. But other than that, the Defense isn’t too shabby this year.

No doubt. And Tiki will pick things up as NYG won’t fall behind big every week. You’ve got Jacobs on your bench?

That streak is pretty unreal man.

You’ll be fine regardless, but I will reiterate that DET’s rush defense is an illusion. Every year this happens: why run against DET when they’re dead last against the pass? By the end of the year, you’ll see that the weakest rush defs (NYJ, CLE so far) have good stats against the pass because teams have been so busy running over them. In a copycat league, everyone exploits the same weakness.

Brett Favre Rules!

I just wanted the 601st post on this thread.

And the streak continuous, also 20 buck bonus for high score 3 weeks in a row, 5-0 baby!

Won in another league 3-2
Lost in another 3-2, should have left Berrian in there instead of switching back to Driver

Overall league - 29 points behind in 4th place to 4pts behind in second place and thats with LT giving me only 2 pts and fucking Bledsoe giving me 4, had Leinart on the bench with 19 but only GoHeavy could have predicted that one…

And LJ Smith, please stay on yoru fucking feet, you should have scored!! And Donnie Mac should have lobbed that shit to you on the next play.

I have been praying all night that Larry Johnson is ok.

A

Yeah, he rules alright. Why can’t he protect the ball or step up in the pocket or not throw it so damn hard all the time or, or, or… I’m getting sick of his bullshiat. But i’m really getting sick of the play calling. Let’s run every running play to the left side. Morons.
