I pulled out a two point victory with Keadign outscoring Moss. I am still pissed b/c the Skins lost but after Oakland ran into the kicker and my minus 2 for a missed field goal turned into a +3 for a FG, my day got a little bit better since that put me over the edge.

I told you about Randy Moss, they pulled Brooks for Walter…nice, lets see what goheavy has to say about this…

Oh and I like the Wilford trade but both are hit or miss, Wilford more likely to hit. I like Parker over Jackson actually.

Alright, it’s nice to start the year off with a win in both leagues! I was the highest scoring team in one league and second highest in the other. And the league I was the highest scoring in I started Steve Smith who didn’t even play! That bodes well for me.

Question for you guys. After hearing the news that Branch was traded to Seattle I figured that Nate Burleson’s value was going to go down. So, I proposed a trade for Ernest Wilford and the guy accepted. Was that dumb or not? I think Wilford has a bigger upside than Burleson.

I can’t wait to rip on my bro-in-law for making that move. Starting Brooks over Brady. I know GOHEAVYFOOL you are on the Brooks-Moss bandwagon but i’m not. And wow, did the O-Line of Oakland look awful. If they play that bad my prediction of Moss not being a top 10 receiver is going to be correct. Brooks didn’t even have enough time to complete his 7 step drop.

Oh, I also proposed a trade to my bro-in-law. Willie Parker for Steven Jackson, let’s see if he bites. He doesn’t like Jackson so i’m going to try to steal him for cheap.

Yeah, I wonder how GOHEAVY is going to spin this in a positive light. If he can, he really should be a politician! haha

Good work on going 3 for 3. We should have got a T-Nation league going. Oh well. There’s always next year.

So, you like Parker over Jackson huh? That’s interesting. Why is that?[/quote]

I’m busted… and it’s not even Brooks, I know its not Moss. There is nothing I can do or say to help Randy… I maybe fucked. Randy is TIER 1, he got a decent QB, but even that’s not helping. That OFFENSIVE LINE let a pretty mobile QB get sacked 7 times last night I believe it was. Oakland got shut out and Lamont Jordan went nowhere. I think this display should pretty much prove to you that running backs are mostly a result of their offensive line. and when your qb gets sacked that much, you can’t possibly get the ball downfield.

The most important position in football is the offensive line without a doubt. Emmit Smith knows this very well. The Raiders and Randy Moss and Brooks will all be busts unless that line improves.

If I were Randy Moss… I would get the fuck out of Oakland with a quickness, he os pausing a great career for an elite WR playing for a garbage team and offensive line like that.

I really feel for Randy. I mean this guy is fucking sick when it comes to talent… he is the best in the league with T.O. Larry Fitzgerald and Chad Johnson. Too bad Randy plays for a sick team. I expect the same output as last year, the QB improved and the line went down… WTF! is Oakland doing. They won’t win 1 game with that line.

AA I need your advice quick.

I dropped Brunell last night and picked up Leinart in case Warner goes down. Now I still have Bledsoe… but he faces Was this week and it doesn’t look good. Drew is close to getting benched. Warner has a tough match-up with SEA this week.

Now a guy in my league dropped Favre who plays NO this week… Favre threw 3 td’s last year against them.

I need a second opinion. Right now I want to pick up Favre and start him vs NO. IF not I have to start Warner or Bledsoe because I dumped Brunell. I ain’t fuckin with Brunell… he’s too risky, Id rather gamble on Favre.

Yo man, I’m feeling you. I have Moss and Jordan on my team.

However, Brooks is partly responsible. That dude holds on to the ball way too fucking long trying to front like he’s Kenny Stabler or John Elway. Not even close.

Without a doubt, Brooks is the dumbest fucking QB in the league.

Brooks is not decent. Randy used to be Tier 1. Not anymore.

Truth.

No doubt. And even worse Art Shell was a fucking O-lineman. Not only was the line play abominable but the play calling was equally atrocious.

Raiders will get goose-egged again next week. Andrew Walter will be starting by October, and I’m benching those two until shown otherwise. Lucky for me I got some depth on my squad.

good luck next week.

The best thing for Moss to happen would be for them to start the kid Walter, he has got a canon and will sling it deep to Randy all game.

I just dont think Randy is the Randy of old, regardless of how good the line is or how good the QB is. He just doesnt seem to have the same break away speed anymore. Right now he cant touch Fitz, Smith, and Chad.

I am starting Warner, who I think will be just fine at this point regardless of who he plays against. Fitz and Boldin can beat any secondary in the league and if Seattle gets ahead b/c of AZ’s weak DST, they will sling it more.

If Ahman Green can burn CHitown for a buck 22, he can shred the saints D which will mean more run and fewer passes. GB is a run first team and the only reason Favre has thrown so much is bc they have been getting behind and they havent had a running game.

If it aint broke, don’t fix it. I’ll leave warner in there until its time to take him out. Last year he sucked against SEA though. I think he threw 3 picks and only 1 td.
Alright you convinced me… but i’m still going to try to pick up Favre for Leinart… just in case I change my mind by gameday.

Lets just hope Warner can pick apart that secondary.

I got Moss on the bench against BAL… no fuckig way am I starting him. Only if Walters gets the start will I think about it. I’m thinking it might not be a bad idea though on this scenario. Baltimore is going to blow out Oakland… so they’ll be playing from behind slingin it all over the place. Randy could end up with a 100 yard game and a possible score. Its a tough call to bench him. I got Harrison, Walker and Driver so its not to bad of a bench.

What are you doing with Moss? I’m stuck again… not sure what its gonna turn into. I’m seeing Randy getting those deep balls when they’re behind like 24-0.

As the resident Packers expert of the thread I would tell you to start Warner and keep it that way. As much respect as I have for Favre, I wouldn’t start him at all this year. The way the team is playing right now the only thing you are guaranteed is INTs from Favre.

Like AA said, if Green can get over 100 yds rushing against the Bears he will do even better against the Saints.

But remember that the Packers torched the Saints last year 52-3. However, that was last year. Outside of Driver Favre won’t throw it to anyone else and if he does it’s usually not completed.

I hate to say it but the Cardinals have a better team this year and you can count on Fitzy and Boldin. You can’t count on Driver, Ferguson or Jennings.

But there is also the fact that after an opening week shutout most teams come back to win the next week. I heard that somewhere. So, maybe Favre will go off. But I highly doubt it. He looks pretty bad and so does this team.

Oh man, the Packers are worse than the Cardinals. What has this world come to?

On a more amusing note, I offered the following trade in my Yahoo league.

Delhomme for Culpepper

The guy comes back with this counter offer:
Delhomme, Brandon Jacobs for Culpepper, Tynes

haha, he wants to give me a kicker for Brandon Jacobs! That made me laugh. And I thought I was king of offering the shitty trade. haha

I agree except for the Driver bit, I think he will put up numbers all year regardless of how well the Packers do, someone has to catch it. He may not get many TD’s though.

Trade question, would you guys do the following?

Delhomme, Brandon Jacobs
for
Culpepper, Stallworth

Sounds like a good deal for you but who are your other RB’s and WR’s and how mnay do you start?

Damn, he didn’t go for it. Said he wanted to wait one more week.

Would have been nice. Jacobs would have never started over LT and Parker anyway on your squad unless Tiki goes down.

Branch wont be ready for a few weeks I think and than you could have played matchups with him and Stallworth.

Hopefully for you, Stall doesnt get a lot and Jacobs falls into the end zone again.

Ok I have a dillema. I have both TG and Winslow on a team and I’m looking to move one of them. I’m looking to package Mike Bell in hopes for a better back and or a reciever (kinda weak).

If you had your choice to move either, which would you prefer? I think people are kinda hyped on Winslow and even after 1 week it might be a good time to move him, but TG might get the ball a lot more with Trent down.

TG/Winslow, Mike Bell or T.Jones for
Stallworth, McGahee
or
Rudy Johnson and some else?

I’m just looking for someone with a weak TE and a decent back, so these could change as well. But I would like to drop Burleson and there’s not much on waiver.

Teams as follows:
QB:P.Manning, S.McNair
RB:T.Jones,M.Bell,R.Droughns,J.Jones
WR:C.Johnson,N.Burleson,E.Moulds,R.Smith
TE:T.Gonzalez,K.Winslow
K: A.Vinatieri
DF:Baltimiore,Philly

Alright, it sounds like Steve Smith is going to be out again this week. So, this is what i’m thinking for WRs.

S. Moss
E. Wilford
T. Heap

I also have Michael Clayton and Corey Bradford. But Clayton plays the Falcons and Bradford plays the Bears. Both shutdown defenses. Heap plays the Raiders and I think he will do better than the other two.

I doubt it very much that someone would take either of the deals that you are going to be offering. I wouldn’t give up R. Johnson for a TE and M. Bell or even J. Jones. No way in hell.

Nor would I deal McGahee and Stallworth for what you are offering. McGahee and R. Johnson are both definite starters and you are trying to trade them for guys who will be splitting carries.

Sorry man, I just don’t see it happening. If you could pull it off though that would be freakin’ great for you!

Yeah, like I said to AA, the guy denied it and said that he wanted to wait one more week. So, hopefully both of those guys will have crappy games and we’ll do the deal next week!
