Two decisive victories and still alive in another league. Am ahead by one, have Kaeding going and he has Santana Moss. Being a skins fan, I will accept the “L” if the Skins can pull it out tonight.

Fourth league did not matter after all that I started Pepp over Bledsoe after he threw three picks. My only TD in that league was scored by the Bears DST. All my WR’s, Holt, Fitz and Chambers had yards but no titties. I have 41 points so far, top guy has 76, you play against everybody every week. I still have LT and Kaeding to go in that league so hopefully I get a bit closer to respectability.

My Kaeding shrine is up in my office as we speak.

I hear ya, I need Kaeding to have a good night tonight too!

Here’s my situation:

Yahoo League - I’m down by 2 going into tonight and I have LT and Gates to play. My opponent (bro-in-law) sat Brady this week and is playing Brooks. He’s convinced that he’s going to throw 4 TDs and will be his key to victory. I’d say i’m in good shape with two studs playing tonight to his one Aaron “WTF” Brooks. I think i’ll take the victory.

Draft League - I’m currently down my 12 points going into tonight. I have Chestor Taylor, Santana Moss and Kaeding to play. While he has Gates. I could come away with a victory is Taylor and Moss come up big. However, I’m not counting on it. We shall see what happens.

Damn Steve Smith not playing cost me. Luckily for me he had Joey Galloway who didn’t score any points so they evened out.

I suck! No competition for me guys. I won 65-41 and I still have Randy Moss left. And I lead the league in points. I kinda figured I had the best team after that draft. The “winners” league too.

I’m so glad I have Kurt Warner. He is a steal from hell, got him as the 81st pick.

How long do you think Kurt will last? My only worry is injury.

I figured him for 350 yards and at least 2 td’s or 19 fantasy points. He did even better, 301 yards and 3 td’s or 22 fantasy points.

LJ was a bit of disappointment, but when your main guy does nothing and you still win… it kinda givs you a good feeling.

Hey Animal, I need some DEF help though.

I drafted Miami, dumped them before the first game and picked up Washington, dumped them then used Philadelphia for 9 points. Now I dumped them and I’m using Cincy for next week.

Do you think I should keep using this weekly DEF vs a bad offense scheme. Or try to pick the best DEF that’s in there right now and stick with them.

Here’s what I have to choose from.

-Buffalo
-Washington
-Miami
-Philadelphia
-Cincinnati
-Minnesota
-Dallas
-Detroit
-Arizona
-New York Jets

Your brother-in-law might be correct. Be weary. I think the Brooks-Moss connection will surprise most. I figure he made a decent call. Brooks should put up at least Brady’s points and maybe a little better.

Personally, i’m rooting for that, I have Randy Moss. But it could go sour and maybe Brooks has a bad 1st game with a new team. That’s a possibility too.

Good luck guys.

I kicked ass this week, but next week I have a tough opponent… probably the #2 guy in the league… I’ll need L J to put up some TD’s next week, enough of this 7 point bullshit. Where the fuck is L J’s 200 yards and 3 td’s. At least my opponent had Alexander and he got 0 points from him.

My opponent is so pissed right now. We got into some trash talking and I had mentioned Shaun might be a bust this year, just dropping out of the top 3 maybe the top 5 and that’s not really a bust, but a bust for Shaun. Similiar to Randy Moss last year. 1000 yards and 8 td’s inst really a bust, but it is for Randy Moss when he’s capable of about 1,600 yards and 16 td’s with a top level QB.

Moss’s year is all based on the QB. Moss’s talent is there. Always was, always will be.

I am picking up Cincy for their tasty match up against Cleveland next week. I already have Tampa Bay in that league.

I have Carolina D in one league and they struggled against Atlantas but they were also on the field too long. Steve Smith coming back should help that. I am considering trading for the Ravens.

I have the Ravens and Chicago in two other leagues which right now I would start against anyone. If you can get a top DST I would stick with them unless you can get a solid DST with a great match up.

Eagles sacked Carr 5 times. There was another DST with 7 sacks, I think it was Buffalo. Look at their match ups and those maybe available. I also think the Jaguars DST is underrated. Target your DST’s a couple weeks ahead of time to stay ahead of any other smart match up folks in your leagues. I have already looked at weeks 13 and 14 for the fantasy playoffs.

Alright, it’s nice to start the year off with a win in both leagues! I was the highest scoring team in one league and second highest in the other. And the league I was the highest scoring in I started Steve Smith who didn’t even play! That bodes well for me.

Question for you guys. After hearing the news that Branch was traded to Seattle I figured that Nate Burleson’s value was going to go down. So, I proposed a trade for Ernest Wilford and the guy accepted. Was that dumb or not? I think Wilford has a bigger upside than Burleson.

I can’t wait to rip on my bro-in-law for making that move. Starting Brooks over Brady. I know GOHEAVYFOOL you are on the Brooks-Moss bandwagon but i’m not. And wow, did the O-Line of Oakland look awful. If they play that bad my prediction of Moss not being a top 10 receiver is going to be correct. Brooks didn’t even have enough time to complete his 7 step drop.

Oh, I also proposed a trade to my bro-in-law. Willie Parker for Steven Jackson, let’s see if he bites. He doesn’t like Jackson so i’m going to try to steal him for cheap.

I would pick up Cincy’s D for sure. I think they are one of the most underrated in the NFL. They seem to always force turnovers and are a pretty darn good unit. They got me 17 pts this week against KC.

Nice but I can beat that, I won in all three leagues I play heads up. haha. I got high score which is 20 a week in two leagues with one score being 168. In the other league, LT and Kaeding brought me back to respectability and shot me into third place. 65, leader has 75, long way from 41.

I pulled out a two point victory with Keadign outscoring Moss. I am still pissed b/c the Skins lost but after Oakland ran into the kicker and my minus 2 for a missed field goal turned into a +3 for a FG, my day got a little bit better since that put me over the edge.

I told you about Randy Moss, they pulled Brooks for Walter…nice, lets see what goheavy has to say about this…

Oh and I like the Wilford trade but both are hit or miss, Wilford more likely to hit. I like Parker over Jackson actually.

Yeah, I wonder how GOHEAVY is going to spin this in a positive light. If he can, he really should be a politician! haha

Good work on going 3 for 3. We should have got a T-Nation league going. Oh well. There’s always next year.

So, you like Parker over Jackson huh? That’s interesting. Why is that?

I have Cadillac on a couple of my teams and am considering a trade. I haven’t really put much thought into who or what because I haven’t looked at my needs. Do you guys think he’s gonna be a bust this year or it was just the Baltimore Defense.

I think it was the D, but I’m still not sold and think I should wait until a breakout game and sell high. Just looking for insight.

Oh in regards to trading Parker for Jackson, I think that would be a great trade. From the looks of it,baring injury, Jackson is going to get touches and he can bust in the middle pop outside and will get the goal line carries. Parker seems to be a speed back to me and I’m still not sold on his goal line play.

If he breaks one and gets tackled at the 5,which he seems to do a lot, is he gonna have the juice to finish the drive or are they gonna have to “rest” him and let someone else steal his glory.

Just a thought…gotta love fantasy

Couple of reasons, Parker got all abut a handful of the carries and Pitt is a run first team. St. Louis has more emphasis on the run but I am not sold on it.

Pitt’s D will be a lot better and I expect Pitt to get ahead a lot more and just hand it off to fast Willie. St. Louis will be behind and will have to throw more. I also think the St. Louis WR’s are used to catching a lot and some grumblings may start if they lose and S. Jax gets all the carries.

Lastly, I am not convinced Jackson will stay healthy all year with the little ailments he has. I think Parker will and also hs more break out speed.

I aggree with you here…However, I do question the durability of Parker to handle a heavy workload. He did have the Bus to spell him last year, but I think he’s up to it.

You cannot compare the defenses, so I can see strategy coming in to play and benefitting Pitt more, since they are the better team.

New coaching staff new era??? I kinda wondered about this. If the team is winning, I wouldn’t expect much griping, but if the losses start to pile up this could be an issue, but unlike TO they have professionals on their team.

This is my biggest concern and could push me to trade while his value is high. He always seems to miss a couple games here and there and this was with Faulk sharing the load. With the wear and tear he takes shouldering the whole load, I have my question marks.

Since I happen to have Jackson on one of my teams I may consider looking to move him for a more consistent back or other before he becomes an issue…and if he does stay healthy and runs for 1500yds and 12td’s then I’ll put my money on black next time. Not going for Parker though

Pulled the trade. The more I thought about it the more you are right. Plus, I don’t like the idea of having Holt and Jackson on the same team. That’s depending too much on one offense.

Thanks for talking some sense into me AA.

No worries man but all this stuff is pure speculation, dont come knocking when the rent money is due and you dont have it cuz you did not win your league…

I don’t think you have to worry about that. You got atleast 50 lbs. on me! lol

I think Simms was bad and no fluke and that offense looks to struggle all year. Sure the Ravens D is top of the league but I still would expect them to struggle regardless.

Also, their D was on the field way too long which made them less effective so they will be behind and forced to throw. If you can move him I would. Or sit back a few more games and see what happens. ATL should give you a good indication.

The other guy had Trent Green…poor bastard.

Frank Gore scored me 38 points, Bell got me 22, and James got me 29.

Portis, on the bench, got 18.

The question is, what three backs do I start next week? Should I sit James because they’re playing at Seattle? Or Portis, because the they are going up against a decent Cowboys D?

Bell is going against KC, so I think he’ll have a good game. Gore is going up against STL, and he’s the feature back…I’d rather not sit him.

Thoughts?[/quote]

Depending on the status of Portis I would go with Portis, Gore and Edge. Bell is going to be splitting carries still regardless of which one it is. Mike or Tatum.

How does that get you 38 points dude? Wow.

I would play Gore and James. Which Bell? Regardless, he splits.
I think Port will share again next week till he is fully healthy, against Dallas he was struggled in the past.
