Anyone notice a big difference after a night of drinking? I’ve read about the effects alcohol on T and E, but couldn’t find an answer on just one night of heavy drinking. I rarely drink (1 beer every few months) but I had a taste for Whiskey several years ago. I drank half a bottle of Vodka Saturday and had a basic hangover the next day, but yesterday I still felt bad. Very tired, tons of brain fog, no mental desire to procreate, and felt a bit pissy. I ended up taking off work today because I felt horrible when I woke up. Still fell the same but not as bad. Could one night of heavy drinking cause a spike in E? I injected Saturday before drinking.
My consistent bas feeling since could also be from being under the 6 week mark for my new dose. I am on week 4. Week 1 and 2 I felt poor, week 3 I felt a good bit better, this week I have felt all the normal symptoms since drinking 3 days ago.
Oddly enough (and I’ve read others feel this too) I’m horny the day after a binge drink fest.
Don’t know why
Alcohol crushes dopamine which could mimic high/low E2. Symptoms of low dopamine include:
- muscle cramps, spasms, or tremors
- aches and pains
- stiffness in the muscles
- loss of balance
- constipation
- difficulty eating and swallowing
- weight loss or weight gain
- gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- frequent pneumonia
- trouble sleeping or disturbed sleep
- low energy
- an inability to focus
- moving or speaking more slowly than usual
- feeling fatigued
- feeling demotivated
- feeling inexplicably sad or tearful
- mood swings
- feeling hopeless
- having low self-esteem
- feeling guilt-ridden
- feeling anxious
- suicidal thoughts/thoughts of self-harm
- low sex drive
- hallucinations
- delusions
- lack of insight or self-awareness
A lot of these look familiar. In the future I would suggest supplementing with l-tyrosine which is the building block of dopamine and from experience cuts way back on the shitty feelings the next day.
Thank you, It would have taken me forever to think it was dopamine. Sometimes I feel like a hypochondriac with all this mess lol. I’ll pick up some tyrosine this afternoon! Any other supplements you reccomend someone take with their T to improve mental and physical ability? I want to become as optimal as possible.
I am the wrong person to ask about supplements. I take a shit load. At the very least I would say a good multi, Mag Glycinate at night, quality cod liver oil, if you are going to drink Tudca for liver support, curcumin, and boron.
Also get your vitamin D checked. Maybe pregnenolone and DHEA too, especially if you feel tired a lot.
Dhea . Preg. Vitamin d. Make sure your free t is optimized and same with thyroid.
T and thyroid are the only feel good hormones we have. So make sure both are optimal. Some need a 25 free t and others need 35 to feel normal. Some are good at 15.
I’m going to grab the Tyrosine, Vit D, Preg, and another multi. I need some vits for my daughter anyway. I know my DHEA was great, almost to the top of the scale pre-TRT. I didn’t have preg tested though. My vit D has been slightly low on every test.
Get vitamin K for the D to absorb properly. Vitamin A is good as well. Just heard all this from dr Serrano
Would a multi with almost all of those in it, (like the A, D, K, ect., be better to buy? Then just grab the tyrosine and preg?
Not sure bro. We are all unique so you and I need more
Or less
What were your vitD levels? Also, you should have your pregnenolone tested before supplementing.
I’m pretty new to all this - I started shooting up 2 weeks ago. Dr prescribed 200mg every two week. A couple days ago I took my second shot. Yesterday and today been feeling a bit tired and not as motivated as I was the first few days after my first shot. Is this normal? Is this part of the “dialing in” period?
What happens during this dialing in period and why does my doc want to take blood test in 6 weeks?
Oh, and it’s been hard as sh*t getting up in the morning - is this normal??
Okay man. First, you should start your own thread and not hijack. Heroin addicts shoot up, nobody says that except my wife when she’s harassing me. It pisses some guys off to use that term.
If you’re getting one shot every two weeks you’ll never get dialed in, because that’s stupid. That shot has a half-life of 7-8 days, which means that it’s mostly gone long before your next dose. 6 weeks is when your blood levels should stabilise at whatever your current dose is, but they won’t with that dosing schedule. At least one shot a week, and 100 mg a week is a good place to start,
I couldn’t find preg so I guess that works out. I have it on my list of “things to test” in 2 weeks during my next visit. I did find a men’s one a day active that had more vitamins and higher amounts of it than everything else on the isle. I was also looking for magnesium, which it does have. I finally found the L tyrosine at GNC, 1000mg capsules. I read that a normal dose would be between 500mg to 2000mg. Lower doses showing that it helped people with stressful events, higher doses helping build dopamine and improve cognition. So I went ahead and dumped 2000mg in 3 and a half hours ago. I wont lie, I was a bit sceptical, but on my hour ride back home I had this weird feeling to do stuff… I picked up 3 sacks of mulch and some plants, have building a garden since I got home. I’ve literally been in this consistent feeling of grey since Saturday, this evening I have began to do something I’ve wanted to do for 2 months. Thank you sir. Idk if it’s placebo, but I generally have a sceptical view of things, as I’ve taken several vitamins before without noticing any change, but I do believe this kicked me out of my funk.
When you do start a thread, name it properly for long term use. I wish I would have done that lol
FWIW I take 3G of l-Tyrosine and am currently taking 600mg of magnesium a night. I upped the magnesium at my coaches suggestion, he is an endocrinologist, because I had some irritation and rumination popping up randomly through the weeks. Did the trick. He said he has some guys that take as much as 1200mg or more.
My wife just mentioned something that I had not thought of regarding how poorly I felt this week. Originally we spoke about the alcohol causing my dopamine to bottom, and the L-tyrosine helped. But when I injected last Saturday I how alot more blood than normal after removing my injection. I literally pulled it out, turned to grab my alcohol towelette, turned back around and saw a trail of blood dripping into the floor. I assumed I clipped a vein on the way in. Cleaned it up and quickly stuck on a bandaid and forgot about it. Could this have leaked our my injection? I inject IM into the glute, I also do not Z track.
Perhaps a little bit but doubtful enough to REALLY feel it. If you hit a vein on the way in you obviously went into deeper tissue so the delivery was probably ok.
