when I started TRT when I was 25 after cancer i had the same issue to this day im not sure what it was but it went away but it took about a month. If its doctor prescribed id be calling him also depends how active you are, you could be burning alot of calories now that your on TRT so might need to up the protien and watch your general diet with a close eye.
I do remember that a week before this test my erections disappeared and sexual interest died for a week or two then came back. Possibly a nice spike in estrogen becuase I first started TRT. I have felt fine since then. Strong erections, I asked other people about bloating including my RN mother who said she did not see any yesterday. I do eat primarily sausage and egg in the morning. Along with vegetables and chicken in the afternoon. I rarely have broke from that pattern for a while. I do workout about 30 minutes 5 times a week. And I work 50 hours a week. I am trying to stay active by cleaning and working in the afternoons and going camping/hiking on the weekend. Maybe it was a spike up in the beggining like what happened to you, and now it is dropping. I am due for my next test on the 27th.
If the symptoms subside, then just carry on. But I still think you will end up increasing the dose a little.
Why are you keeping free t so low?
Itās very plausible his estrogen test number is wrong and he needs to re run. Doesnāt make sense when you consider his dose and history.
I canāt see how he is feeling any real benefit from Trt habjng a free t below normal ranges.
Iām a little lost why even do Trt if free t is 3 or 5. Unless we are using different measurement than the norm.
I thought his Total T and Free T both kind of sucked, thus my opinion that he probably needs to up the dose. He just needs to keep an eye on the E2 at the same time just in case itās not lab error.
Yup I consider it torture if my doc had me at those levels .
I added the scale for each measurement beside my findings. I certainty am not happy about such a low free T either. My first free T test (pre-TRT came out at a 5 (scale:9.3-26.5) after my 6 weeks on my first dose of 80mg we got the results you see above at 3.5 during my last day before taking my next injection. He did up me to 100mg after taking this test and said once we see the 6 week results from the 100mg we would probably need to up it another 20mg. He seems to want to slowly up my dose and watch what happens. Although I am not experiencing any sign of high E at the moment, he said that if I did then I needed to come in and we would go ahead and draw another blood sample early to tackle to issue. I do feel slightly better on the 100mg. This week is the first week that I generally feel slightly better. I just beat my monthly walking goal today, only 8 days into the month, without trying to. I will say that during my 80mg dose I would feel just as horrible as pre-trt during my last few days before my next injection. I remember mentally trying to talk myself into injecting early. Ofcourse I knew better and didnāt, I think it was just a subconcious response as I knew that I didnāt feel right on those days. I I deffiantly need to be at a higher dose and am glad he agrees. Iām hopi g he will up me a little more than .1ml next time, since we will have a variable showing what .1ml, or 20mg, does to my T in the body.
A 20mg increase on weekly dosing will show miniscule increase in testosterone. You are in for a long, long dailing in process. These inexperienced sick care doctors are nervous about their patients getting anywhere close to 800 ng/dL and will take action to decrease your levels.
Insurance companies have these doctors on tight leases.
Your doc sounds fine. Heās cautious but not stupid, he wants sides before fooling with your E2 and he wants to increase you gradually until you hit the right number. Best way to do it really. He started you too low, but it sounds like heāll get you there and get it right.
He takes TRT himself. I think the secondary hypogonadism is where itās throwing things off. Most of his TRT patients are primary or just older gentlemen. Iām his only secondary patient. He is the recommended TRT doctor for the area, better ofcourse as you get into Atlanta and Tuscaloosa in sure. But that is a serious drive. I am going to ask him to check my progesterone though, my DHEA is great! Iāll also ask him to possible raise the amount by. 2ml at a time next time to see what happens. He is very open to conversation and listens to everything I find and discusses them. I generally spend an hour per visit just talking to him.
Where are you? I lived outside Asheville NC for 20 years.
I am in Oxford, AL. Oh, one more thing that seemed important. When he upped my dose, he said to pay close attention to how I feel. His main concern was how I felt first, and if I didnāt feel good we would continue to move my dose.
Why are you wasting your time with this doctor. You needs to start at 200 from the sounds of it and thatās today.
Heās fucking you up man. You went to him to remove low T and he removed natural
Production and put you right back in the hell you started.
Yet you stay with this fuck stick.
These docs should be banned from hormone treatment.
Doesnāt matter how nice or friendly. Are you going to let a friendly mechanic ruin your favorite car and practice on it?
If I gave someone a 100mg dose of T and they had 3.5 free , then I would jsut shoot up to 200mg. Not small 20mg increasesā¦
You want to heal your patients ASAP. Low t sucks. Jsut give the client 200 mg and modify as needed
He is doing everything right, honestly. Heās got you mid-range on your T with a reasonable starting dose and is trying to dial you in. And his first concern is how you feel, not the numbers. Be patient and heāll probably have you dead on soon.
I get it but you do realize his free t is 5?
Yes, but doubling his dose could put him way above range quickly and actually be worse. Heāll probably end up around 140-160, but stepping him up is better than over-shooting and having to back him back down. It will help him avoid sides while he adjusts to having test again.
I agree with hardartery, it would seem that stepping would be better than overshooting. I havenāt read of any doctor starting at 200. Iām sure it happens though.the average starting dose is 100mg, although I will agree that 80mg was a bit conservative. Iāve already picked up alot of the stuff Iāve had issues with since I swapped to the 100mg. Iām back to blocking my own schedule, working out properly everyday, my libido is great, and Iām spending less time feeling āgreyā. I would say I feel 30% better than I did pre T, and I have a ways to go but stepping up and watching the levels will allow me to find the right spot, and deal with anything that may come up as they come up. The only thing I see that my doctor does negatively is that he didnāt have alot of things on my blood tests that are recommended here. But Iāve spoke to him and he said he was happy to test for those. I dont think this is enough to condemn him.
Although depending on my next blood tests I may talk to him about bumping it 40mg this time. Because then we will know what a 20mg difference makes in my body.
