I’d love to know who your doctor is. I live near Birmingham and I am looking for the best options around here.
Dr. Keel, in Oxford, Calhoun County.
Drive over to Chattanooga or a plane ticket and go see the best dr. Nichols. I flew from Houston and it was best decision I’ve made.
What is a T4/T3 pill? Is a prescription required? What were your thyroid panel numbers prior to the T4/T3 pill?
Yes t4 and t3 . T4 converts to t3, but usually just giving t4 doesn’t help becusse the body isn’t converting to t3 optimally. So you give both.
Free t3 is like free t. And you would do the same for testosterone but there’s no way to dose just feee t. If one could it would be awesome.
You are getting there man. Labs are a great idea. The guys can help you decipher.
I believe it takes a good 3-4 months to properly see the benefits and then up to a year for some of the other benefits like depression and etc.
I notice levels fluctuating a little bit a couple of days after 6 weeks mark and seemed to be settling down, 8 weeks will be the true measure of your protocol. This is usually when you actually feel the stable levels achieve two weeks prior.
Lab testing are the only way forward.
Just had my 6 week checkup! The doctor drew blood to get my new levels and upped my dose to 100mg weekly (also stating that he expects us to raise my dose a few more times but wants to do it slowly and follow my Blood test results) I will know my new levels in a day or so but my CBC test came back all clear. I mentioned everything yall told me to and he was very knowledge on all of it. He told me how SHBG effects my Free T count and figured mine should be ok due to my body being is good health. My BMI is perfect, low fat content, ect. But he is running the test to be sure. He gave me a prescription for a 10ml bottle and told me how to get it as my insurance company is forcing me to only get 1ml bottles at a time. My body is getting some of the rewards of the cypionate. I have abs for the first time ever and I’ve noticed alot of definition lately. I also am starting to feel slightly better but do not have a major difference. Since swapping my diet to all meat and veggies I feel alot better as well.
You got this man, everything is starting to turn in our favor lol. Good going changing your diet up, it has really been helping me. I basically made it easy by buying a large thing of chicken and Salmon along with 5 gigantic bags of mixed veggies. I prep 15 meals at a time and eat them when I feel hungry. After a week I noticed I felt better. I also notice my fecal matter looks like the best kind on the chart lol.
Nice you found a legit trt pro. What’s his name where is he located?
@jlambert1123 did he up your dose before seeing blood test results?
@systemlord thx I’m just staying the course right now unless labs tell me otherwise. I’m trying to be patient with the process and not change anything with the protocol.
Dr. Keel, located in Oxford Al
Is that AL or some country/state?
Right on there aren’t many good docs around and you should share that with folks in your area when You can.
Would be nice to have a nice directory of docs based on How they prescribe logically.
He did up my dose before my 6 week results came in, but he also said that was not common practice but he knew I would need to get to an even higher dose based on my pre-TRT labs and the fact that he was moving me from a low dose (80mg) to a base dose (100mg).
Yes that’s Alabama. I will be telling people locally as I can. He is the preferred TRT doctor in Oxford. He gave me another local doctor’s name and number from the town over if I wanted a second opinion but said most of her clients move to him and claims she doesn’t check free T nor E levels. He was happy to talk to me about everything refered to me here and gave a perfect description of what it felt like to have low T and free T, “It’s like living in a world of grey, not necessarily depressed (although some are) but nothing feels good.” He also is one of the only doctors that sits down and talks to me for a while and is happy to explain to process of everything I ask. Great conversationalist.
Perfect so happy for you and the folks in that town. It’s a great asset.
My doc is exactly the same. Talks and answers questions.

The whole point of waiting for 6 weeks is to see labs first. Your doc is doing stuff backwards. I would wait for labs before injecting higher dose. I’m 80mg a week split dose E3.5d. We may need a higher dose but we need to make changes based on what labs tell us. He’s just arbitrarily doing it.
Your doctor sounds alot like my first TRT doc. He did the same thing and kept upping my dose to 200mg a week for no apparent reason. He never made changes based on labs like your doc. Everyones body is different which is the point of labs. Don’t make the same mistake I made trusting idiot doctors.
I get that, and that’s why I mention above that he said he would be following my blood test results from now on. It was not typical to allow up updos before results came back in but since it was my first go and that I had no free t, no E, and hadn’t noticed the effects he would go ahead and write me the basic dosage. I’m pretty sure I states above that this wasn’t typical. This is my 6th week, my blood results for my T should be in today sometime, my CBC tests were good. He sounds fine. It’s not like he plans on doing that everytime. Besides my up dose wont be until next Monday and my labs will be in way before then.
