2 Meets 5 Months Bring It!

nlmain - smores = um, hell yes!

Today →

BENCH

Flat Bench
bar x 10
65 x 8
80 x 5
95 x 5
115 x 5

130 x 5 x 4 → not a PR, but my back is ridiculously sore and fatigued from yesterday (WTF?), so this was pretty tough

Military Press
bar x 10
65 x 8
70 x 7
75 x 6
Again, couldn’t stay tight in my back, especially when I have knots the size of golfballs all around my shoulders, rhomboids, traps…ok, everywhere

Chin-Ups (5,5,5,5,5,4)–> PR!!!
my grip gave out on my LAST rep! I have to say though, I was feeling pretty bitch made with this workout and no PRs on my bench, but my confidence was totally redeemed with these…don’t know how my poor back pulled them off

15 mins on Stepmill - high(er) intensity

Holy shit those are some wicked chins! Now I have chin-envy. Well done shaunar and good for you for finding the silver lining in a not so good workout day. Funny how your back gave out on the other lifts though. You must have some killer-strong shoulders and arms.

Yeah, probably not as much as it seems because I went to bed and woke up with wicked pain in my right shoulder! Seems to me it was from the military pressing, since the pain originates when my arm is in that position.

Looks like a day of rest, recovery, and ice and heat like a mothafucka

Ice, heat, stretching, hot baths, and Icy Hot have all made the pain subside a bit.

But new plan…realized today I have not taken a break or deload in MONTHS. So, taking the rest of the week for rest/recovery and then at the cabin we will bring the sled and do some MORE recovery, and then will hopefully have a new plan for the next week.

Finger crossed that my lazy ass will get on top of it!

everyone and there cabins. I want a deload of no kids, haha!!

rest and the cabin. sounds dreamy. enjoy chica!

Just catching up on your training. I’ve got to say, your attitude re: your meet and subsequent training is incredibly smart and inspiring! And besides, I would kill for your squat and deadlift numbers!!

Not to mention your good mornings and chins! You’re killing it!

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I love chatting at the gym. It helps me kill time between sets, because I otherwise have a tendency to rush my rest to get the next set in. But then again, my workouts do drag on waaaay too long sometimes!

Edit: Oh, and enjoy your deload and time at the cabin!! I’m jealous. :stuck_out_tongue:
