It doesn’t sound bitchy. It sounds honest. And I can totally relate. Many of us have limited time to train and don’t want to be interrupted with small talk.

x2
my workout can run 1.5 hours on average. small talk would have me at the gym for atleast 2 hours. Plus I’m like totally in my Rage Against the Machine zone which means all I can muster in terms of vocabulary is the occaional grunting, swear word and mayhap some barking. We wouldn’t call a sprinter a “snobby bitch” 'cause he doesn’t stop in the middle of a sprint for a little chit chat about the weather.

Good point!
Honestly, I think I must give off some kind of “stay away from me” vibes cause it’s really rare that anyone approaches me in the gym.
nlmain and snap - totally true. And btw, I must give off the don’t talk to me or I’ll cut a bitch vibe too…then when I actually talk to people I think they are weirded out that I’m nice. I think its just more helpful to me in my workout to have serious face!
My workout brought all kinds of frustrations today.
-
Gym was a fucking zoo.
-
Still obnoxiously sore in the hams and glutes from my circuit on Saturday and it became clear very quickly my legs were still fatigued.
-
Drank coffee too fast so felt a little blah in the stomach.
-
Aaron took fucking FOREVER to warm-up and get his shit done so we were there WAY too long.
Lower Body–>
Sumo Deads
bar x 10
95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 3 (still a warm-up set…or so I thought)
255 x 3 - failed on 3
255 x 3 failed on 3 AGAIN and yelled some obscenities louder than I should have
225 x 3
Good Mornings (conventional stance)
bar x 10
65 x 10
95 x 8
105 x 8
115 x 8
115 x 8
105 x 8
Cable Hip Pull-Throughs
90 x 12
100 x 10
110 x 10
120 x 10
20 mins on Stepmill
And I’m giving shout out to CBear - just looked at my FA log from way back when. My last post was expressing irritation because NO ONE WOULD ANSWER MY FUCKING QUESTIONS. The only girl to post in response (and recently too, which is weird since I haven’t posted on there in a year), basically said, in that fakey fake nice kind of way, that if I just make friends by kissing the ass of every other chick on there, then the chicks will like me and post on my journal.
CBear followed that up with a link to this PW journal.
Thank you. Fuck. That. Shit.
I can’t imagine you as a FA logger at all. glad you made it to the dark side.
sorry to hear about that shitty day, you’re usually crazy strong. but we’ve all had one of those.
question: is there a reason you need to wait after the b-friend. seems to be a reaccuring aggravation for you. could you not let him stretch and stuff and move right on to you lifts? just wonderin.

I’m not the most web obsessed person, so FA just kinda popped up and I started posting. I saw women “lifting” and thought it was the greatest…until I realized the truth ![]()
As far as Aaron and I in the gym goes, we only have one car and at our gym there is a certain time where you have to pay for parking and when it’s free (total bullshit btw…end up paying twice the membership just to fucking park). We are trying to save some money and our schedules have been similar so we just go in together.
Anyway, we clearly get there at the same time, start warming up, he takes longer than me so I start my workout, and I get done sooner than him. Lately if we don’t sync up I can try to kill this time with some cardio or something, but some days are just truly annoying.
Trust me, I like to workout alone and there was a long time when I hated going to the gym together (refer to “I DON’T TALK AT THE GYM”). But when he is my coach, my form critic, and my spotter I appreciate him a lot and have gotten to really liking us being there together…especially when someone is horrendously squatting…or benching…or doing throwyourbackout bi curls. If he sees it then I don’t have to reenact him for him at home…although that’s always a good time!
Does your gym have a sauna or steamroom…I find that can kill some time in a relaxing way too…much better than cardio…lol
PROPS x8 million to the third power on the not liking people chit chatting while you’re DOIN WORK!! Screw em! If they get their feelings hurt they deserve it! pansys!!
Its so frustrating!! I hate that even when you are doing something for yourself–totally benefiting you and you only because its FOR YOU, some blithy person feels the need to get something out of you- ie. conversation from a badass chick like yourself and your freaking life force. its selfish on their part i ssy!! GRR!!
OH! and WTF? paying for parking?? that is lame!!GRRRr!!!
and oh yeah–great workouts! :)!

It does, but, well…gross. It i basically the hangout for old men who clearly do not comprehend the pain of having to see them in a Speedo. And they are NOT inconspicuous about looking at the ladies. It’s just weird. But I suppose I could try it again…I need the recovery.
Since I’m not doing this second meet, I am, ONCE AGAIN, trying to cut some body fat. I am the queen of inconsistency and self-sabotage, so I am taking those realities into significant account as I proceed. Since I don’t eat meat the diet thing is clearly a challenge unless I want to live on eggs…so is working in an office where doughnuts are a food group. So, instead, I am not going as extreme with diet manipulation (besides the obvious of eating clean, good food choices, carbs PWO, etc.) and simply accepting some cardio in my workout regime. I have a fair amount of BF I want to lose, so with two days of circuit training, a day of HIIT, and occasional brief steady states, I hope it will make a difference.
Also, this is my last week of work (temporary position) and I am going back to being unemployed for a few months to complete my NSCA-CPT cert. In addition to studying, I plan on using this time to kick up my workouts, stay steady with my diet, and throw in a 21 day vegan cleanse. The last time I was in the thick of unemployment I was basically crippled by stress, so I am looking forward to this time having made a solid decision to be unemployed and use the time most effectively.
If anyone has any suggestions/advice/better options please let me know. Cardio is not my favorite so I am open to suggestions.
I have some accepting of cardio into my routine, that I have to do as well…yuuuuck.
I say do what you you think you would stick to. Intervals are great, but not if you are going to do them consistently…(speaking about myself here, haha)
your plan sounds pretty good though. Stick to it(CONSISTENTLY!!) to give it time to work and go from there! And remember, nutrition is your best friend.
I’ve hardly done any up until this point…

I’ve only been in the hot tub at my gym once. After brief conversation with a guy in there, he said “You look tight. You want me to rub your shoulders?” Honestly, I didn’t know what to do. It was so awkward.

HA. Hahahahahaha. Holy shit. Snap you just made my day with that story…mostly because I can picture that being said by any number of the creepass old men in my gym.

I’m definitely an interval fan, but I’m trying some treadmill incline walking and stepmill…usually only about 15-20 minutes at a time for the moment so I don’t get burnt out.
Honestly, and I know the skinnier ladies will bite my head off, but I really do have some muscle to spare, so if some gets lost in the shuffle I won’t be too upset. If only I could get leaner without so much god damn work…yes I’m talking to you Snap and Kimba!
My nutrition is good. My downfalls are too many carbs and bites of things here and there. Not being in my office anymore will be a huge relief for staying clean and on track.
my post made no sense…kids screaming around my head, sorry!
I meant, I’ve hardly done any cardio up until now…
Nutrition has to be ON POINT, ALL THE TIME! That’s what I’m saying. I know all about those BLTS(bites licks tastes) ![]()
My point being, pick something and stick with it…give it time to work before making adjustments. there. lol

…and that ended the hot tub haha.
That is very awkward.

ha, no worries, i got the jist
Damn those BLTS (shaking fist in the air)!
Today–>
Second Upper Body Circuit workout:
Circuit #1 - all movements supersetted:
Single Arm Standing DB Shoulder Press (25) - (12, 12, 10,10)
Single Arm Bent Over Lateral Raise (10) - same - couldn’t find the 12.5
Single Arm Bent Over DB Row (25) - same - lower back soreness made me keep the weight low(er)
x 4 (90 secs rest between each circuit cycle)
4 minutes rest
Circuit #2 - all movements supersetted:
BW Chin-Ups - (3,3,3,2)
Standing BB Bi Curls (40/30) - (12,12,10,10)
Single Arm Incline DB Curls (15) - (12,12,10,10)
x 4 (2 mins rest between each circuit cycle)
My intended 4 minute rest turned into 10 because I got another talking interruption, although the guy was really nice and was asking about advice to get his wife to lift heavy. Not sure if its because I’m not doing PL workouts or because Aaron isn’t there, but the guys tend to come up to me more when I do workouts like today. Maybe I only have mean face when I’m lifting heavy.
Circuit #3 - all movements supersetted:
Inverted BW Rows with Hanging Rings (kinda like TRX) - 10 reps
Walking BW Push-Ups - 10 reps
“Kettlebell” Swings with 25 plate - 30 secs
x 4 ( 90 secs rest between each circuit cycle)
15 mins incline walk on treadmill
Lowered the weight on some of the movements. Probably should have lowered the rest times because even though my muscles were getting tired, especially my forearms, I wasn’t as exhausted as last time. My lower body is toast from my workout yesterday, so I’m planning a Epsom salt bath and a long foam roll session tonight.

LOLLZ. haha yeah I probably do this a lot, but my headphones are so loud that I can’t hear myself. ooooops!
_Mel
just a small tip suggestion advice opinion, haha!
for my circuits(when I do them) I really like the push/pull method…or upper/lower
So I’m really too lazy to seriously log any of this…
Thursday → Interval Cardio work (plate pushes, kettlebell Tabata, and some steady state). Kicked my ass.
Friday and Saturday → too much booze, dairy, and sugar…had a nice little hangover too
Today → Lower Body Circuit #2 and extremely clean eating
The plan is to do workouts basically all week until Thursday (Aarons B-day extravaganza) and then leaving for his family’s cabin for a long weekend! Going to stay as clean except for wine and SMORES!!!
