From what I’ve gathered you’re quite successful, X. What was different in your life that allowed you to become an officer, doctor, etc? I think I remember reading how you’ve been pulled over before for being in the wrong place. Is it things like that you’re talking about or is it something bigger?
It is interesting someone would ask what bias…in a thread started for no other reason than to shine the light on BLACK TEENS who committed a crime… in a crime where not all suspects were black.
The bias is staring you in the face.
Yeah I got that. I’m asking how you were able to overcome this bias. It seems like it’s more just an annoyance to you, but absolutely crippling to others. Was there a difference, or was it you?

Both my parents were well educated teachers. I did not grow up at poverty level…and they stayed married.
it is much more than an annoyance that much like the op…I am seen as a negative from skin color alone.

Do you think you had to work harder than non blacks to get to where you are? Have race baiting comments like the OP ever stopped you from pursuing your goals? What do you think his motivation for posting that was?
Professor X wrote:

Are you saying the individuals in this thread with negative biases towards blacks are representative of the whole of white people’s view on blacks, because they are saying that the actions of the black individuals in the linked story are representative of the whole of black people?
First, like usual, the only person making this about race is ol’ Fatty X.
Second, the link posted in the op only had pictures of two of the suspects, both of whom are black.
Third, the third kid of the trio is NOT white. He might be mixed, but he quite clearly has black in him. So, if he was successful the brothers would claim “half black”. Since he did something wrong ol’ X shouts “he’s white”.
This doesn’t seem to be about skin color. Seems to be the definition of “random act of violence”. But, imagine if it were three white kids that shot a black kid in the back…

You waste internet space posting here.
the op titled his thread BLACK TEENS MURDER FOR FUN.
He made it about race. The mods changed the title.

It doesn’t matter if they are representative of the whole.
The same bias that made the OP start this thread is the same bias that will hold someone back from getting a job…or a promotion…because of this negative view.
I wish the Mods had left the title the way it was.
None of those earlier posters are posting now for some reason.

How would I know how ALL non blacks had to work?
I know from personal experience there were classmates upset and thinking I was only in school because of “AA”. I heard them. It isn’t about who worked the hardest in some broad sense.
Most of the truly wealthy people in this country didn’t work for their money themselves.

His motivation was likely trying to act as if the issues behind the Treyvon case were insignificant and also literally making a point that “black teens” are more dangerous because they are black.
That is a racist view point whether he considers himself one or not especially given the true issues at hand.

What an insane thing to say. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% of millionaires are first generation. I wouldn’t be surprised if you thought you worked harder than others, you’re just not willing to admit it on this site. Either way, I don’t care. You are a doctor, officer, entrepreneur who just happens to be black. Why do you even entertain these threads?
Do you think those classmates said those things because they were bigots, or because they didn’t like you and were looking for a way to hurt you?

What a bunch of crap you just wrote.
I didn’t write that I worked harder because I doubt I did. I remember things by looking at them. It makes study time way less…time consuming.
You CLEARLY wanted me to say that just so you could rant some more.
Sorry, it didn’t work out for you.

? I got along with most of my classmates. Schooling like that puts people into very close perameters. It is a very tense education so yes, I heard many things that some of them might not have said in other circumstances.
That is what happens when you spend that much time everyday with the same people for years on end.
I am truly laughing at that outburst because I didn’t claim I worked harder.
Your colors are showing.

I honestly feel bad for you if you believe that.
"It isn’t about who worked the hardest in some broad sense.

Why would you say this? I suppose that’s what I should’ve asked. I haven’t really ranted at all until you said that. You said what you’ve dealt with “is much more than an annoyance that much like the op…I am seen as a negative from skin color alone.” Do you understand how your comments as a whole can be construed as someone who thinks they did, in fact, have to work harder than others? Just because you didn’t directly say something doesn’t mean you didn’t say it.
Also, why does someone in your shoes feel obligated to defend every other black person on the planet? You know full well why people make these threads and you keep coming back.
So white guy gets gunned down by black thugs. Where are the white politicians screaming into the hills?
Where are the people ourtaged at such murder?
gee I guess this white guy was scoping a poor black neighbourhood to tell his friends so they can rob places. Black Panthers rise up!

No, it doesn’t. There were several points there, retard. You’re welcome.

Because there is a difference between “old money” which is true wealth in this country and what you were talking about.
The Hilton sisters didn’t work hard for that shit.

What did that have to do with education? You are trying too hard to pigeon hole my thoughts.
If I have to consider I am seen as a threat because of my skin color, that is a hindrance.
Uh, what?

LOL. It is funny how if any black person speaks up, they are held at fault for speaking for every other black person…yet I have been told right on this forum that blacks should police “their own communities” and that “blacks tolerate pimps”.
The mass generalizations seem abundant when there is finger pointing to be done.
I am lumped into a group…and held at fault if I defend said group…and if I don’t.
Interesting.

It’s not if any black person speaks up, it’s that you speak up every time. I can only assume that the majority of these threads are made to get you riled up or to reinforce some messed up opinion some may hold. Have you ever tried staying out, just to see what would happen? I bet the thing would be buried in 2 or 3 days.
I’m not pigeonholing you and my questions were all based in curiosity. I legitimately wondered what the difference between you and other blacks was–assuming you are all subject to the same bias. What was the point of bringing up Paris Hilton not working for her wealth? You were talking about dental school.
