No offense, but that doesn’t make your point better, it makes it worse.
You are claiming race hate crimes…for a guy who hung with someone whose family was half white?
I was saying that the youth who wrote racist tweets, who picked a person out to kill who happened to be the race he said he hated…should be charged with a hate crime, yes.
Your defense is his buddy was half white?

Uh, yeah…it is hard to claim you want to kill all white people…when your best friend is half white and drives you to do it.
Uh, no…it doesn’t make sense.
Honest question, and by the way new information shows that this is more likely a gang initiation and not hate crime, BUT aren’t ‘half whites’ identify as black by the black community?
Obama is NOT black in my eyes, neither is Halle Barry or Beyonce etc. To me they are of mixed race, which I think is a lot more awesome (I have two mixed race kids
) yet in the media they are identified as black. We, according to the media, as well as you, have a BLACK president and Halle is the first BLACK actress to win an Oscar.
So could it not be that this kid doesn’t consider his best friends “white”?
Again, I do not believe this to be a race motivated crime BUT since so many different issues were raised in this thread I hope you don’t mind taking some time to share with me your point of view on this.
I ask because my best friend, who is from Suriname and a descendant of West Africa slaves so he is very, very dark, will never refer to mixed race children as black. Neither would his family. They call them Creole, or mixed or Eur-African but never black.
I am curious as to why in the States they are identified as black. Lived here for 18 years and never really figured that one out. Always felt weird to me to call a mixed kid ‘black’ and ignore the Asian/white/Hispanic part.
