Front Double Bi:
Again, legs locked or not. I can possibly have my legs locked in the front relaxed to draw more attention to them there and then have my knees bent in the front double bi to have more of an x-frame.

Side Tricep:
Lastly, either I can grab my wrist or grab my hand in this pose. It is easier for me to grab my hand and remember to lock the elbow.
Not sure what looks better in all of these poses or if it even makes a difference.
Thoughts, I would incline towards locking the legs for you as it is more eye catching and shows off the definition a little more (which is what judges tend to lean towards in natty shows as I understand it)
I like the straight arm Side side, and I really dont see a difference on the side tri. Maybe a slight nod to the hand grab in terms of making the Bi look a tad more full.
I really like the locking out of the legs more on the front relaxed, but they may look better bent slightly in the FDB…I would try bending them even a little less though.
On the side relaxed, I like the arm bent more personally.
The side tri is up to you, both look great.
Looking awesome bro, keep hammering away!

I like your idea of doing both, depending on the pose. For front double bi, I think you need the X-look that the slight bend in your knees gives you. Of course, for the “relaxed” pose, locking your knees would be fine.
@Lonnie, ebomb, and david, thanks for the feedback guys. I like the locked knees on the front relaxed too. Also, for the front double bi, like david said, I think the x-frame is needed so I may not lock my knees out but bend them slightly less. Side tri, I think it’s easier for me to really ‘lock’ it in if I grab my hand instead of my wrist, so I’ll most likely go that way. I’ll keep taking pictures both ways too see if anyone starts looking better closer to the contest.
i have zero experience in this so, grain of salt, but i have been following your thread and you have done awesome! congrats! as for the poses the one with the tri’s, im slightly OCD lol and think grabbing your hand behind your back looks more natural as opposed to grabbing your wrist. like i said i dont understand all the posing so i can be 100% wrong, just thought I would drop a line an congratulate you.
Thanks, fighting_fires. Grabbing my hand does feel more natural than grabbing my wrist, but when it comes to posing it’s about what makes you look best, lol. In that shot, like most people already said, I don’t think there is much of a difference so I can go whichever feels more comfortable (which is grabbing my hand).
Update:
This morning I weighed in at 189. I’m officially under 190. It’s been about 3 years since my weight was this low. I actually did the V-diet to get down to this weight when I first started training (when my only goal was to see my abs), and now I look 100x better than I did then (and actually do see my abs, lol).
On a side note, I am always hungry right now. I don’t know if its due to the Indigo. Last week was so easy due to the higher carbs. I can actually see myself staying on last week’s macros when I’m done with this, as long as I can get rid of all the cardio ![]()

Lol, aw, you get used to the hunger! ![]()
It’s all mental at this point, and as you’ve come so far, I know you’re itching to keep pushing the envelop as your 2nd show approaches. Just remember that as proud as you are of the pics from that 1st show, you’re gonna look back in 3.5 weeks and think “… and I thought I looked great THEN.”
Gonna kill it big man!

Amazing writeup, thanks for “pulling back the curtain” for us and keep up the great work!!
Update:
I weighed in at 189lbs this morning. That’s a 3 pound drop from last week. I believe that’s been the largest drop in a week for this whole contest prep. Since my diet has been the same for the past few weeks and the only change we made was to add 5 extra minutes to morning cardio, I have to credit the additional pound loss to Indigo. On top of that, I’m more vascular and feel fuller through out the day (even on my low days).
As a side note, these pictures were taken tonight after a long high carb day, so I might be a little bloated ![]()

That’s a real good pose for you. Looks great. : )

Looks good. Use this.
I guess it’s unanimous on the front double bi. I also tried it on the front lat spread as seen above, but it doesn’t look right to me. Might just keep this one the standard way I’ve been doing it.
mnnn not sure bout the Lat spread, but a lotta competitors do the ‘single leg thing’ when hitting the front bicep shot, and it definitely displays one of your strengths. By all means use it!

Good luck man.
