They moved me over to the end :(…
I’m also considering posing my legs like the guy next to me as opposed to having my knees bent. Thoughts?
The guy next to me placed 3rd, next to him 2nd, and all the way to the right in black 1st (lost the overall)
My back looked good before…now compared to this guy, not so much, lol.
I def need to work on my ‘lower’ lat thickness. Any suggestions?

Last photo for now. My girlfriend and I showing off our bling after the show.
Guys, I’d love some feedback and suggestions on any and everything…Thanks!
Impressive for a first contest. You’ve got good thickness through your torso, arms, and legs. The biggest thing that jumps out to me at first glance is working on overall width. You have a pretty narrow structure, so hammer that back (and I guess delts, to some degree, to help with the illusion) and you’ll be well on your way.
Great work.
great work, I was looking at doing a show earlier this year but at about 8 weeks out my metabolism went haywire(was dieting for about 2-3 months before).
good luck with future training and goals
Awesome dude - you’re a very articulate guy. Thanks for detailing your experience. I thought you looked great and did really well. : )

Thanks. Yeah, my width is something Stu and I have been trying to work on. Currently, my high carb day is when I train back. I’ve been hitting lateral delts twice a week. My back workout has been focusing on width and I’m going to try to revamp it to focus on width even more. Also, considering hitting lats twice a week as well. So, I’ve been trying, lol, just coming along slowly.

Looking awesome in the pics. You looked great for your first show.
I’ve been having the same problem with back width and have been hammering it hard for the past 3 months or so and improved it quite a bit. You can check out my log for some of the back workouts/exercises and techniques that I have been doing if you want.

Thanks…based on your avatar, I was going to ask you what you’ve been doing for back. I didn’t know you had a log up. I’ll definitely be checking it out and stealing some of your workouts ![]()

Haha steal away.
Do you have a log? I’d be interested to see what you are doing for arms, specifically triceps.

I don’t have a log on here and really don’t plan on starting one (at least during this prep). I write everything down in my little notebook which is falling apart (and other gym goers threaten to steal when I’m done, lol).
As far as arms, since they’re short it’s both a gift and a curse. It’s really easy for me to build them up with the basics…for bi’s I’m currently doing Incline DB Curls, Cable Preacher Curls, and Barbell curls. I’ve always done similar things like that since the beginning.
For Tri’s, I’m currently doing rope pressdowns, Decline DB Tricep Extensions, and dips. Again, I’ve always just done simple exercises for triceps as well. I think the bulk of my tricep mass has just come from them taking over whenever I do any pressing. Anytime I try to work chest or shoulders, they just dominate. I’ve actually totally gotten rid of flat barbell bench for bench, switched over to dumbbells for overhead pressing, and now for the next 5 weeks switching to db’s for Incline pressing.

Ahh, I remember the old log book. I have about 10, starting when I was 15, pretty insane to look back at them.
Thanks man, sounds good!

Based on these photos alone, I would have given it to you. You had the most mass, best definition and your poses were more complimentary to your build. Great job!
