You’re killing it brother. Keep up the good work.

Thanks bro!

This is just a test to compare how my body reacts to two peak strategies. I took this pic this morning after waking. Yesterday I trained chest/delts, had lots of water and low carbs…about 65 net. I will take another pic this Saturday morning after a carb load Friday night, and I may dehydrate all day Friday. I haven’t paid much attention so don’t know which is best for me. I hear water depletion is a mistake but I’ll try to see if I notice a difference. I’ll post the other pic Saturday.

How are things going Yodaddy? Feeling dialed in? I’m excited for you to kick off the contest season for us Tnation guys!

Feeling great! Ready to represent Tnation on my first show!

April 6th, Sunday morning, after carb loading Friday night and all day Saturday. Very little water just to test it out.

Side

Other side.

For peak week, I’m really keeping things the same. Carb deplete during the week, and will start carb loading on Friday, nothing too different than what I’ve been doing, and not going to crazy high on carbs. Going to keep my water intake the same as well. I really don’t feel the need to risk anything. I think a good pump pre-contest will give me an advantage Saturday morning, maybe a small carb and protein meal a couple of hours prior, depending how I feel. I welcome any suggestions or thoughts.

Looking great man, your lats are a huge strength in that front pose. I’m sure you’re pretty set on how you want to pose at this point (and it looks good!), but one thing I picked up from WBFF pro Michael Gonzales when I worked posing with him last week: he felt like my lats/V taper would be a strength for me compared to the other men’s physique guys at my show, and wanted me to really emphasize my width in all of my poses. He had he twist my torso a little further toward the front on the side poses to show the lat and width on the side furthest from the judges, and also to minimize my waist. I think that might be something you could tinker with and see how you like it, as you’ve definitely got better lats than me! I’m gonna post new pictures with my 5 week out update tomorrow morning, I’ll post my physique shots also to give you an idea of what I’m talking about if you’re interested in seeing what it looks like

You’ve must have read my mind bro. I’ve been trying a similar pose that I like. I displayed it at posing practice today and I’m going to throw it in the show on Saturday. It also shows the striations on the obliques more also.

Something like this. This was taken 3 weeks ago so I’ve improved it some.

You look great buddy. Keep us posted, and do you have any full body pics with wheels?

Definitely bringing a great looking package brother. Just so long as you get a good pump up before getting onstage, I have no doubt you’re gonna get some good looks from the judging panel.

Well the NPC contest was Saturday and I placed 7th in the Masters and somewhere around 17th in the open. There were about 25-30 contestants in each category. I got first call out in the Masters but somehow ended up Not in the top 5. There were so many competitors, we came out 3 at a time, only quick front and back pose. I didn’t even get drug tested. Oh well, excuses are for pansies. Got another show in less than 2 weeks so I gotta stay focused. This next one is INBF on April 26th. I’m going to pick it up a notch with cardio and lower my calories…I seemed a little bigger than most this past weekend but maybe not lean enough. I’ll post pictures soon.

Chin up mate and we can’t wait to see your pics.

Takes b@lls and a lot of dedication to step up on stage so big congrats to you. First TN’er to step up on stage in 2014 right? Good job.

Congrats, man…I’ve been following along and really admire your discipline and determination. I don’t know much about the competitive side, but I expected you’d have plenty of size. Maybe not lean enough? Wow. You looked insane to me…looking forward to the pics.

Also looking forward to the adjustments you’ll be making over the next two weeks. Most of the prep threads end pretty abruptly after the contest, so it will be cool to follow along on this one.

Congrats again, very impressive job and good luck!

To hear some competitors talk, it’s easy to forget that placing top 5 at an actual competitive show with a decent number of athletes is one hell of an accomplishment. While I don’t think you’re getting down on yourself (good), I hope you understand how truly crazy it is that we have the group of competitors on here that have done as well as they have.

Refocus on the next show, assessing your strengths and weaknesses, reaching out to get feedback from the judges if you can, and continue on your journey. I’m expecting some good stories after your next outing. Don’t disappoint me

Thanks a bunch guys. It means alot having the support I’ve had on Tnation…especially with not using a prep coach. I just saw they updated the results and placed me at 6th. I’m following something like the 2 Weeks to Shredded protocol by Shelby Starnes. I won’t disappoint you Stu

Congratulations on competing and bringing a package you can be proud of! Not a lot of gym rats ever actually do that. And to echo the others, keep your head up and get ready for this next show!
