1st Natural Competition

Feb 8th

Of course…I’ll need work on the posing.

Doing the Physique category but posing just for comparing purposes.

Back

All taken Sat Feb 8th, 9am, before food, water or training. Very high carbs the night prior.

I’ve always been challenged on my legs since when I was a kid but I’ve been working really hard on them for the last 10 years. I know they won’t be much of a factor for Physique but I’m still hitting them hard regardless. My calves however, will be a focus going forward.

You’re looking great Yodaddy! Not much further to go for conditioning

Can you post your diet? How come you’re eating so much carbs at night, is that when you train?

There really is very little scientific evidence to show that carb timing has much effect on body comp

Thanks man. At 11 weeks out, I’m really trying to keep it slow and steady.

Okay, but you’re getting the most benefit from carbs around your training window.

Also debatable, but I do prefer quite a few carbs around training for the placebo effect if nothing else. Sorry, just didn’t know if u were suggesting that consuming carbs at night would hinder fat loss!

I’m definitely getting in most of my carbs post-workout and at night. Very low to no carbs during the day. I just happen to weigh train in the evenings. I’m doing intermittent fasting so my first meal is at 1pm(I know, I know, this topic is debatable but I’m giving it a try…it’s allowed me to stay a little higher on carbs and still leaning out at a good pace.)

Been averaging 2600 calories per week, about 200g protein, carbs vary depending on training or not. That’s been maintaining me at the same weight but I have dropped bodyfat, although slightly the last few weeks. I’m adding an extra session of HIIT, but leaving my calories as is for now.

Yodaddy, not sure if you’re doing this already, but check out JM’s Calves Everyday article here: Train Your Calves Every Day.

I incorporated that and put a half inch on my calves in a bit over four weeks. I think much of it has to do with the tibia raises; most of this was new growth for me. I was trying to gain at the time, however there’s only a 4 lb difference between measurements.

Nice. I’ll give it a try. Definitely need to work on my calves. Thanks!!

you look good man

wait are you doing INBF physique? or NPC physique?

I dunno if you’ve ever been to a natty physique show but they looks small man. Like they don’t even lift. You’ll be like the biggest 5’8 on stage if you wanna do a natty show you should do bodybuilding. Your proportions look good man.

Thanks man! Funny I was just thinking that yesterday. I just don’t know where I’ll be closer to competition. I still have over 10 weeks to go. Plus I’m doing my first one solo(without a trainer), so I’m playing around with my macros and cardio…especially since I was counting calories beforehand. I guess I can decide closer to the date. Right now, I’m just focusing on losing bodyfat slowly and maintaining my muscle.

I’m doing INBF b/c I hear the testing is stricter.

Feb 15th. 10 weeks out. Front.
