19y/o Intelligent Suggestions

I am more of a performance guy. I have a 36" vertical leap, and run the shuttle in 4.10 seconds. I can squat and deadlift almost 3 times my bodywieght and have done chins for sets with 2 45’s. I do value a balanced body though. Any suggestions?

Way-ull…personally, I think you should have moved the equipment out of the picture and moved a smidge to the right. Then the picture would have been just you with a clean, spotless background.

Regarding your first two statistics, I don’t get it. The squat, deadlift and chins are excellent. What advice do you want, though?

Well I honestly don’t believe your accusations on your lifts ext. But thats because you only give one shot of your body which is your back… maybe some more pics? Also some stats weight/hight would be nice. You look average to be honest.

Well I have to agree that u def need more pics to have ur physique rated… once again rate my physique not rate my back

But id have to disagree with the fact that u look average… and ur rating of three is probably unfair except for the fact that u only gave one pic so there isn’t too much to go on

Thank you for the photography advice. Actually to be more accurate my deadlift and squat are about 2.6 times my bodyweight. I would like any advice based on your judgment of my development.

Thank you for your comment. I am 5’10" 178lbs.currently. I understand that you believe I look average, but what ares of development do you perceive as points I maybe should pay more attention to? Thank you

I don’t think you look average at all. You have low bf, you have large shoulders and are solid everywhere else. I’d say work your lats, and add some isolation for your biceps. Do some floor presses for your triceps. Your forearms are big and your shoulders are big but your upper arms are lacking. I’m sure that is because you are more interested in function.

How are the wheels? I’m sure good given your numbers. I don’t doubt your lifts or your shuttle or verticle. Some folks don’t beleive anyone, it is mostly because they lack somewhere and not because of you personally.

Anyway, way to take some stuff on the chin and move past it. At 19 you are beyond many of these guys who have been at it for several years.

i think u look fine, no homo, check out my thread in this forum, but i weight 13 pounds less than you

Looking very good man for your age I’m envious. Shizen he doesn’t look average, but I also want a pic of the wheels.

Thank you for your comment. I think your observation of my upper arms is spot on. I never did curls until recently because I used to have the idea that only the people who didn’t know what they were doing did curls.

Now I know that what is more accurate, people who dodn’t know what they are doing- ONLY do curls.

As for my lats, I don’t row heavy very much, probably the source of my problem. My leg development is very hamstring dominant. from the front I look skinny but defined, from the side I look like a horse. What techniques take emphasis away from the hamstring?

Thank you for your comment once again

Thank you for your comment. I’ll have a leg pic soon.

So you can squat and deadlift 500lbs?

Shoulders and core look solid. I would focus on lats and pecs if I were you. Of course it depends on your goals.

Like I stated, by almost 3 times, more accurately it is about 2.6 times…big difference. I have deadlifted 455lbs without straps or a belt for 2 reps before from the floor.

I know these lifts are not supposed to be equal, but I have squatted 455lbs well below parallel for 2 reps as well 5 sets into a workout. I’m not looking for a pat on the back because there are many much stronger people that are lighter than me. Thank you for your comment

Thanks for your comment. My pecs just recently started to grow since I have been doing more horizontal shoulder abduction movements. My shoulders seem to take a lot of the force in normal horizontal pressing movements.

I never did flys previously because it doesn’t seem to carry over to performance as well as compound movements. I do a lot of heavy chins, but my heavy rows are lacking. I dead lift in different variations once a week but previously my rows were more repetition sets doing face pulls and d-bell rows. I guess I need some good old barbell rows.

I swear if immature kids start bringing ‘no homo’ on to T-Nation boards I’m going to absolutely lose it.

The guy doesn’t look average at all. Keep up the good work and stay natural. Ur solid.

Pause

I feel you look very solid. From a BB’ers point of view your lats and upper arms can fill up a bit. I guess heavy rowing would help solve that problem. However, like you already said, you’re into performance, so no big deal. Personally I would take performance over looks anyday. With your numbers, great work and keep doing what your doing.

What does “no homo” mean? i’ve never seen that before. does it mean, “no, I’m not a homosexual.”
