I think part of what you’re talking about Carl, is (and this is and observation not a slight) @Vincepac1500 isn’t overly active in the forum outside of his own log, I noticed that as I’ve been busier and had less time to spend here the traffic drops off - only natural really, and totally understandable but definitely keep up posting here Vince.
Anyway that’s a derail, love seeing strong guys doing awesome things so I keep watching and always interested to see people compete, so go for it @Vincepac1500!
I do watch the powerlifting section. It has slowed down since I started here years ago though.

I have noticed this. With out being “rude” to current members - the general standard of athlete has dropped. I’m not partially strong. I can squat just over 200kg (about 450lb). Which is okay but 5 years ago this would have been very run of the mill for this site. But I find myself as one of the stronger guys on the forums. I mean there are some guys on here still kicking ass. But not loads.
was lifting with a buddy yesterday so did a couple things with him. Pulled snatch grip conventional up to 405x10 and also benched 325 paused for 3 but missed a 4th.
Worked up to a bench double at 360 tng that moved surprisingly well and a smooth single at 375
Smoked a triple with 535 on squat. Definitely think the 560 double miss was from coming straight from the chiropractor.
Nice work mate. Other than the Chiro, did you approach these any differently given the miss last week ?
No nothing different. Hell lay week I was sure I would hit the 560 double. I do think I have it in me after moving 535 great
Hit a snatch grip conventional deadlift up to 435x10. Thought I loaded 425 until I thought about it later that night.
Just hit a 550 single on squat as an easier squat day and pulled a 20pr double conventional at 635 but on a gym bar, not a deadlift bar this time. I was tired and didn’t want to be there today but I have a rough work week and if I didn’t go tonight id be stuck going in 5 am tomorrow morning. Pretty happy with the double. Aiming to bring my conventional over 700 this year while my groin gets a small break to heal
Squatted a paused double at 525 and it moved pretty nice. Also benched up to a single at 380 the other day.
Was either gonna be heavy close grip bench today or another shot at 560x2 squat and heavy bench on Saturday. I got out of work pretty late. About 11 hour day. Just hit some close grip. Top set was 330x3 moving pretty good. My best ever triple is 335x3 so I’m closing in fast. Most likely giving the 560 double on squat another shot Saturday.
Training still looks like its in a good place right now. Do you have any comps coming up ?
If I was able to pull heavy sumo I would be looking. That’s the biggest issue right now.
Did hit the 560 double on squat a few days ago. The first rep moved slower than the last time I attempted it and missed the second rep. This time I didn’t have the bar rolling and pushed through the second rep. Also hit a pretty good 330x4 on normal bench and probably had a 5th.
Squatted up to 410x11 highbar then hit 340x4 on bench.
