1800+ Raw Total And 800+ Deadlift Drug Free 181 Class

I gotcha. I’ve got a buddy giving me some help with editing tonight for a quick video, hopefully I’ll be able to post it later. My torso literally looks like it compresses. Lock out with 700 compare to 500 is like 2" shorter. Very strange.

I’m a bit disappointed, I got out of work late so didn’t get to work on the video editing wise but here it is. Let me know what you think.

Thanks dude, that guy tends to get in my way a lot. Just how easily that pull came up got me excited I know there’s more. I do believe in about 8 weeks when I max again 725-730 will be there.

As for the challenge im free any time ha ha. People ask me how much I pull im going to start giving out the number in kgs now so it sounds like nothing. A little over 315.

Hit some squats and conventional Deadlifts tonight

Squat
135x10, 225x8, 315x8, 405x8, 455x5

Conventional Deadlifts
135x8, 225x5, 315x5, 405x5, 475x8

Won’t be going over 500 for reps on conventional anytime soon. Just adding it in to build the lower back more.

You made that look easy!

Thanks dude, definitely better than the 710 I think the difference between those was that I had 700 in my head all week. 710 was an after thought, really struggled on that.

Looks like you had the speed to get another 20 pounds on the 700 lift

Yea, I’ll be shooting for that in about 8 weeks, if things go how they’ve been going might hit 740 but don’t want to get ahead of myself.

Edit: well I’ll be shooting for 20 over the 710

Did some Comp grip tng bench that went pretty good. I’m being very careful on my shoulder and it seems to be working, no more 135x10 jump to 225x10, grip is in a bit and getting most of the heavy volume in with the sling shot.

tng bench
135x3, 165x3, 195x3, 225x3, 255x3, 285x8, 315x2, 340x2, 370x1 - smooth had another 5-10 lbs in me

Close grip paused bench
135x3, 165x3, 195x3, 225x3, 255x3, 285x3

Think I tweaked my hip on speed deads yesterday but it’s starting to feel better, I may be skipping my previous Max block pulls Monday and hit my speed work Friday and hit heavy block pulls next Monday. Will be shooting for 730 from 3" blocks of all goes well.

Took it easy today some football bar and slingshot, afew machine rows and called it a day. Thought I was pulling a max off blocks tomorrow but it’s next Monday.

Football bar all triples
145, 165, 185, 205, 235, 255, 275, 295

Slingshot
315x5, 355x4, 375x3

Machine rows
Few lighter sets of 10

Did squats followed by block pulls from 3" in prep for a max off blocks next Monday. It’s getting very hard to not get ahead of myself with this but my Deadlift is getting ridiculously strong. 8 Ish weeks ago I block pulled 705 for a smooth single. Tonight after squats I pulled up to 675x5 easy off blocks with at least 1 rep left. I decided to up the goal for next week and shoot for 740 instead of 730. Unless for some reason I’m just not feeling it.

Squats
135x8, 225x8, 315x5, 405x8, 455x5

3" block pull
135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 405x3, 495x3, 585x3, 635x3, 675x5

Some machine rows
180x15, 200x15, 220x15

Lighter rows and some hip flexor work.

Just the memory of having to put on/take off plates for 700+ lbs deadlifts at USAPL meets tires me out. And that was WITH bar jacks. Can’t imagine doing that for my own workouts at the gym. Then again, I’ll be fortunate to ever get my deadlift even over 6 plates

Ha ha funny you say that I’m always asking my buddies to give me a hand putting them back.

I don’t know what if it’s allergies or what but everytime it starts to warm up I’m feeling sick. I was up since 4 this morning and was going to call out sick till my buddy got me up to do some Bowfishing. Called up work to tell them I was Bowfishing instead. Had to work pretty hard for one carp about 8-10 lbs. As for lifting I may skip today and bench tomorrow. I was thinking of trying to hit 405x2 with the slingshot. I’ll probably go just not enjoy it ha.

Managed to some how get it, haven’t eaten much today and feel like crap but slingshot bench went good, probably could be better with a better day. Started close grip then transfer to slingshot

Close grip bench to 245, slingshot after
135x3, 155x3, 175x3, 205x3, 225x3, 245x3,
295x2, 335x2, 375x2, 405x2

Just a little ab work after that, hoping for some rain for once to get rid of this pollen. I’ve never had allergies in the spring ever till this year.

Feeling much better allergy wise, runny nose and still a little congested though. Getting in some extra squats, my abs were sore from yesterday but I think I need to start doing ab work. Added the belt after 405. Also didn’t eat or drink much today. Really want to feel 100% so I can start killing it again.

Squats
135x10, 225x8, 315x5, 405x5, 445x5, 485x2

Ghr 3 sets of 10

Some light dual cable machine rows.

Back when your max training weight for squat was in the high 300s/low 400s (ages ago), at what point in the workout would you implement the belt, if ever?

That’s where my squat is at, and I’ve been training beltless because my stability/tension has always been a weak point, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m losing out on some significant strength gains and would be better off just using the belt and adding more direct core work.

I never used a belt for about the first 4-5years until I was talked into it when I was close to a 500lb squat. If your high 300 low 400 I would say get one, once you learn how to use it it will make a difference. You’ll have to play with breathing and belt position to feel these difference. If I put it low on back squats it does nothing for me but I tend to breathe into my chest. Also for what it’s worth your don’t have to spend a ton to get a belt that will work for ya. I picked up a cheap belt for like $50 though the lever broke about 14-15 months later
