Got real sick over the last week. Bodyweight got down to 191 lbs. Just getting over it. Haven’t hit the gym since last Wed. Hoping I can go tomorrow. Gonna do some lighter bench and back and maybe throw in a leg exercise in there. This cold really kicked my ass.

Still have a cough and sore throat. Bench fell off a cliff. Struggled with 320x3 last week. All around just coming back slow. Bodyweight is high 190s

Not sure what I had initially but was told today had the beginning stages of bronchitis. So getting that taken care of and going from there. Feel decent just a cough for the last 3 weeks. Benched 305x3 and 335x3 yesterday. I’m also messing with adjusting my lifting schedule cause I’m not 25 anymore. 35 incase anyone is wondering. I used to have to squat or deadlift 3 days during the week. I’m putting my secondary squat day with my main deadlift day. Here’s the break down now I’ll be running with to see how it goes

Sunday - off

Monday -secondary squat and main deadlift + accessories and Larsen press

Tuesday -off

Wednesday - bench and accessories

Thursday -off

Friday main squat and Snatch grip conventional +accessories and Larsen press

Saturday -bench and accessories

Still having a hard time getting my weight back on track. Mid to upper 190s currently. Recent lifts are bench doubles at 335,345,355 and 365. Squatted 541x3 today and deadlift has not been pushed yet with a single at 660 coming on Monday.

Pushed deadlift today. Worked up to 725x2 hookgrip. Second rep started slipping a bit. And a single at 760 with straps (holding it tight not finger tipping it). I might start pulling my heaviest single with straps cause I feel like it makes the lift a bit easier even though I can pull it hookgrip. I can see going over 800 fairly soon. I have also switched back to a Texas deadlift bar if I haven’t mentioned it.

Pulled Monday 740 single hookgrip then 740x2 strapped rpe9.5. Today finally squatted something decent. Single at 571.also benched a single at 386 today. Roughly 1717 with the 760 pull from 2 weeks ago. Getting back up. Feeling pretty good this time around.

Forgive me, I haven’t totally kept up with everyone in the forum. If you don’t mind my asking, what is the most you have actually pulled (gym, and competition)?

I’ve pulled 800 in the gym and best competition pull is 771. Both hookgrip but I held back on the 771 a bit to win the meet. Probably had 777-782 on the day.

Pulled 750 hookgrip yesterday and loaded 780 for a single after. Had an ab cramp right before the 780 attempt and couldn’t even break it off the floor. 750 moved great though. Think I just got thrown off with the cramp and didn’t get enough water over the weekend.

Yeah. That 750 looked great. No question the strength for 780 or better is in there on the right day.

Knees feeling good. Pulled 695x2 hookgrip followed by 695x4 with straps yesterday. Think I’m gonna push squat in the coming weeks. Looking for 2-3 in the 560 range then aim for a single in the 580-585 range hopefully.

The split squat stretch with elevated front foot is saving my lifting. Squatted 545x3 yesterday. Tapering the accessories and going to hit that 2-3 set at 560 ish or possibly take a heavy single in the 580-585 range next week depending how I feel and who’s there to spot. Been working up stiff bar Snatch grip conventional deadlift to 2x6 at 475 last week. And switched it over to beltless stiff bar conventional this week with 490x8. Plan is to stay beltless until I go over about 535 ish.

In the process of peaking the squat and to an extent deadlift. Allergies hit me hard over the weekend but usually a slight cold is when I peak the best. Even feeling shity I worked up to 455,465,475 Paused doubles on squat and more importantly for today (main deadlift day) 712x2 hookgrip followed by 712x4 strapped.

Squatted a double at 563 a few days ago. And pulled 732 x2 hookgrip and 732x3 with straps a week ago. Had some graston work done on my pec so I am gonna feel it out today and maybe go light. Was planning a pr double today or next week but had the grain work last minute so gonna at least push it to next week.

Gonna see how squat feels Friday. Might be taking a single at 586. Here’s a pull from yesterday. 725 nice and slow off the bottom to let my pec and are heal from the graston work.

Heres a single at 586 moved well. I haven’t gone this heavy in a almost 18 months so I was a bit nervous going into this rep. Ended up having a few lbs in the tank but I did pop out of the groove at the bottom a bit. With any luck I’ll be loading a pr double (762+) on deadlift Monday. And bench is getting back on track. A tight rear delt was giving me issues for the last few weeks and finally found it. Bodyweight sitting right around 200.

Didn’t quite have 765x2 in me. Pulled it hookgrip and second rep started slipping. Missed the second rep above the knee. Also looking at the video the bar was a hair away from me at the start. Tends to happen, heavier the the weight the more it bounces where it wants to go. Did bench 375x1 yesterday to prime for my bench day today. Hit 370x1 and 390x1. I think I’ll be over 400 again quickly. Counting the 765 as the heaviest pull I’ve done recently puts me around 1741 for the week. I may load into the 780s Monday depending how I feel. Now that my knees are feeling good, shoulder /pec is coming around, the weights are moving. Debating cutting to 199 at the end of the year and jumping in a local meet to qualify for the tested American pro next year. That would give me the best dots and set me up to compete 220. If I’m going I want to be in the main event.

Did wide stance squat as a secondary today 450,470,490,505x4. Miss loaded an extra 5 lbs over what I wanted to do each set. Only corrected the final set. Then pulled a single at 705 and 780. I was pretty near from the squats. Was going to load 785 but dropped it to 780 cause I was slightly rushed for the top single. Strength is coming back with the healthy knees. 586/390/780 in the lady 10 days or so. Once I get my pec / shoulder figured out i should be moving into the 1800 on total I think.
