17 Y/O Deadlifts 788 @ 197

PeteS: I’m sorry for hurting the feelings of you, apw, and whomever else. I’ll go write “I’ll stop insulting people that I have absolutely no reason to respect for over the internet” 100 times on the chalk board.

Based on your posting style I would say that you are either very young or very immature (more than likely a combination of the two)

What do your numbers look like? (I dont actually expect you to answer this honestly or at all. I’m sure you’ll avoid the question and continue posting your factually incorrect mindless nonsense)

I would be willing to bet they are no where near this kids numbers and he is younger and lighter than you are.

This has nothing to do with respect.

This has to do with you posting stupid nonsense, having it pointed out to you that you are incorrect, and you getting buttsore and acting like a spoiled child about it.

How about writing 100X, “I’ll stop demonstrating my ignorance on the internet and then having an episode when it is pointed out to me.”

I doubt it will help but hey, seems to be your own suggested means of therapy.

It doesn’t matter what his numbers are. If he were a World Caliber HW I would still point out to him he is being an ass.

It’s more about, " Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

This kid wields a mighty shovel.

495-365-535 at 242. He’s done one meet, which was 5 months ago. BOW DOWN.

Is this happening, for real?

Oh, c’mon now.

Maybe these numbers were RAWWWW in which case we all know in single ply would be more like 700-500-750.

Hell, just with a monolift and some briefs he would probably be able to squat 1100 no problem. Everybody knows Chuck is all smoke and mirrors. He’s really not that strong. He’s just all gear and lax judging.

Throw in some loose judging and a monolift and those numbers could easily eclipse 2500+.

Give the kid a break.

That’s truly amazing.

It needs to be pointed out that the contest was decided by less than 1 Wilks point and Dan Williams went 340 at only 82.5 kilograms.

Both were tremendous performances.

To the poster who said, “he has a great future as long as his other 2 lifts come up,” you need to google the kid and check out his full meet performance.

His other lifts are “coming along” just fine.[/quote]

Thanks, I must not know anything about him, since I was also the one who pointed out that he Gene Bell’s son…

He squatted 663 and benched 342 at last year’s Men’s Nationals. I think deadlift is very clearly best lift, but his squat is definitely respectable. His bench isn’t anything to write home about.

Please tell me this is in multi-ply gear so I can not commit suicide.

and he’s ripping on this 17 year old kid who beat every one of his lifts while being 197lbs?

From my perspective he could have barely posted a first total of 1000#'s at HW and I would state at least he took it to the platform. That’s part of the the PL brotherhood.

I think we lose sight of the real issue here (hence my sarcastic post above) which is he is posting some profoundly stupid things with an amazing combination of lacking in historical perspective and failing to recognize one of the most consistently dominant powerlifters in the history of the sport.

Maybe it’s just me but I kind of expect young, upcoming lifters to be a student of the sport and at least have some perspective/knowledge of what they speak.

Like I said, “better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it.”

Well, I hate to ruin your night but scroll down a little further in the post.

He actually understated his numbers…which were in fact posted in single ply.

Sorry, man.

Don’t jump.

This lift was 100 times more ridiculous in real life. This kid is fucking scary.

I swear I’ve seen him a few times in my college’s PL room.

I got to see Nick T. compete in person when he just began. Nice Kid, very respectful. He has always had a sick Squat and Dead and got everything out of his gear.

This kid is going to be a force in years to come and already is making his presence felt.

Much Props.

You’re old.

Now go do some concentric-only front squats against bands, old man.

Ouch, right to the quick.

Will do and I will post some OUTRAGEOUS FUGGIN VIDEOS that will make everyone feel worthless and weak.

(BTW, how the hell do I do a concentric only front squat against bands…just asking. Wanna make sure I get it right.)

I can only imagine. Did you compete? If so, how’d you finish?

It’s one of those things, if you have to ask, you will never get it…

I can take solace in the fact that I probably raw bench more than him. I’m sure he gets more than 30 lbs out of the shirt…
