On this we agree 100%. If all those people had enough outrage the gang wouldn’t have stood a chance. Violent people COUNT on the fear of the masses. Hitler counted on it, Milosevich counted on it, and vicious little street thugs count on it.

Wow, evoking images of Hitler? Surely your argument is not that weak. Stalking. Hitler. Where does your imagination end?

fwiw BG, from a news story about this I saw yesterday, the girl was following around the victim in the shopping mall harrassing her … another word for that is “stalk” I believe
If that’s true then I stand corrected. Thank you. That wasn’t the initial report was it? And is it accurate? I mean, if the victim was an innocent lone wolf being harrassed by a group, surely the PD would have stepped in earlier, instead of kicking them out? Am I missing something?

I am more angry at the security firms policy more than anything else. When we think or see security guard, we think protect and serve. When 1st responders job description change from act to observe we’ll all be in trouble. Hopefully in this litigious society, other 1st responders like police, fireman, and paramedics wont have similiar policies in the future.
Anyone who walks around expecting to be “protected” because some security guard is nearby ain’t very bright.

What do these guys make, by the way–8, 10 bucks an hour? Just wondering.

No disrespect, but some of you are just…retarded. This isn’t the wild west and you’re not Wyatt Earp. If most people acted the way they THINK (hoped?) they would in certain situations, those same people likely would not be with us for very long.

She went to the only “authority” figure in the immediate vicinity. Not really stupid, I certainly understand it. Don’t know what they make but in my City (Philadelphia, major city obviously), our armed guys in the club are making $25/hour cash. I’m not sure what the above the board rate is for armed security but believe it’s less. So yea, those guys aint making much.

Not ignoring it. You’re right. Where there are severe penalties, people tend to think. In the old west, had someone been stomped like that, there would have been an immediate reckoning, or hell to pay later, and someone likely ends up dead. I don’t think too many teenagers went around then doing this. But consider this; most of our youth gangs deal daily in death. It does not seem to faze them a bit.

I will reiterate though; I think kicking someone in the head while they are down warrants an attempted murder charge. Period.

It was on a news at noon here in Mass (saw at lunch) … there’s other footage of the two girls in the mall one following the other around and pointing menacingly (closed circuit don’t know what was said but body language tells a lot) and an interview with the attackers mother saying similar things have happened to her daughter both by the victim and by other people, from what was reported there has been a history between the two girls. Just some background from the channel 7 news in Boston.

How do those guards sleep at night?

I wonder what it might be like if everyone was REQUIRED to go strapped all the time. Would manners improve?

anybody else remember that frog on Channel 39 (in Houston, anyway) and he sang: “The Double-U BEEEEEEEEE!”

No need to conceal it, show the motherfuckers you plan on decapitating the first asshole that gives you shit. Instead of some pussies in bright yellow vests NOT deterring bad behavior, you have a couple people with sword hilts hanging out who WILL deter bad bahavior.

Manners usually improve the moment the attacker realizes they can get seriously hurt as well. That is why people honk at retarded issues when in their cars but those same people wouldn’t say a word if standing right in front of someone.

Hell, if people perceived that would be held liable for their actions, they would avoid much of this as well…but look at our system as a whole. We protect the dummies and reward the jackasses. Everyone has someone ELSE to blame for their poor lot in life other than themselves.

You ate 30 donuts a day for 20 years and now have diabetes so severe a leg needs to be amputated? Sue the doctor due to mental anguish of losing an appendage…because he obviously forced you to eat those donuts.

The girl attacker knew the guards weren’t able to do much damage. They no doubt treat them much like they treat their teachers at school…like they can’t do shit to them.

Look at how most kids act now especially in schools in poor areas. You can’t even reprimand one of them without their parents trying to get the TEACHER fired for setting them straight…yet we act surprised when shit like this happens?

What do people expect when you create a society where you give kids who flunked gold stars so they don’t feel so bad about themselves?

WE CREATED THIS. That is what you get when you erase personal responsibility from society and place every damn thing in the hands of a poor court system.

Hell, if you could simply defend yourself without risk of getting sued for it, more people would quit starting shit.

As it stands, the most powerful person in the room is the guy who can afford the best lawyer, not the guy with the strongest right hook.

What about a guy with a bunch of baloons filled with pee and as soon as someone starts trouble, he starts dousing them with the pee?

Very intersting thought. Not sure. I do think though that the majority of our fellow citizens do not desire to be put in that position…ever. It’s why we have surrendered, as a society, those “freedoms” to the State. That surrender is a bit of a paradox though; we surrender the freedom to mette out justice and retribution in return for protection by law and police. But I think that all sane minds agree that the police cannot protect you at all times. Although I disagree with the German contingent here on the finer points of this thread, I’m intrigued by their laws.

Just bring back Samaurai and moreover, their code.
