15 YO Attempts to Mug a Cop with Fake Gun, Gets Shot - First Degree Murder?!

If this is the case, then there should be a trial at least.

We’re not gonna get into a debate “what’s worse, northern criminality or southern,” are we?

If that’s accurate it could be really bad for this dude.

Obviously not the same incident, but fun to watch.

(Edit: I apologize for all of the commentary. I had trouble finding the video without it.)

Jesus, that’s grim. I’d hate to be in your position, I’d end up shooting every fucker.

They are connected and work together so it’s all part of a common criminality.

Northerners are jealous because they know that when a Southerner has the opportunity he exceeds what the Northerner can do. If you look at Italian immigrants and their descendants, they ended up being among the most influential people in all sectors of life, and they were mostly from the south. Dr. Anthony Fauci’s grandparents were from Naples and Sicily.

It’s just a matter of training, discipline and quickly assessing a situation. Being on SWAT we go after the heavy hitters and they typically know it’s futile to engage us. Ends one way. But, we do get suspects that refuse to drop a weapon or run with one. It’s definitely tough, man.

I bet. I bet that policeman is torturing himself in private, nobody wants to kill a kid regardless of circumstances.

This sounds so much like something a southerner would say…
That’s a hasty generalization, you realize this?

On the other hand, the fact that the rate of crime in the southern cities of Italy is much higher than the average at the north is factual. As is the fact that, and you’ll find this in every history book out there, southern Italy has always lagged behind in terms of culture, economy, technology, and so on.

The fact that criminality in the south of the county might be connected with that at the north isn’t necessarily false, but it’s not necessarily relevant either.

Indeed, what I was referring to when I said that the two halves of Italy almost feel like two separate countries, is the atmosphere you live on the daily. People in Northern Italy don’t think “what if I get robbed or end up in the middle of a firearm conflict between clans today?” whereas this is much of a common worry in Naples. The mentality between people here and there is like night and day. If we see a crime being committed here, we instinctively (I’m generalizing here but you get my point) feel like we need to tell the police, whereas over there nobody ever sees anything. And those who do, either get intimidated into silence, or are eventually revenge killed.

You cited exactly one major criminal organization that was rooted in the north of Italy. You’d be hard pressed to find a couple more. I can start naming known criminal organizations rooted at the south of the country and we’d be done maybe by dinnertime.

People in those cities that own small businesses are forced to pay “protection fees” to the mafia, otherwise their businesses will mysteriously burn down during the night.

You can’t compare it to the way life is here in Northern Italy. And I’m not trying to bash on the south. Like I said, half my blood is from there. But I’m being objective and stating facts.

It would weigh on anybody’s mind that has any semblance of a conscience.

The Tamir rice incident was tragic as hell, but the media was incredibly irresponsible with it’s reporting. American media is a joke.

His life is marked for good for sure. He’ll never be the same.

He wasn’t doing anything wrong. I think the sense of guilt he might be going through is more than enough. That’s why I hate that he’s being prosecuted at all.

This particular cop is a military police officer. He may have been deployed to Afghanistan or something. It’s quite possible he may have been thinking like a soldier (he is one) in combat.

The Italian one ?

yes.

That might have some bearing here, but a lot of guys never saw any kind of combat or conflict.

This does not make much sense to me. We don’t have any idea if the guy is experiencing guilt or not. Some people have basically no guilt for their actions.

Prosecuting doesn’t equal guilty. We need more evidence, and have the evidence presented by both sides. Guy might be a psychopath, a normal headed dude or somewhere inbetween. We need to find out

Kid prolly died on purpose to make a point

Southern Italy was civilized before the North. Greek ruins show that. Archimedes was Sicilian. The Sicilian School of Poetry was the first in Italy, or what would become Italy. It existed before Dante was born. Under the Arabs, Palermo made Rome look like a ghetto. The best actors in Italy are Sicilian. Pirandello and Quasimodo are Southerners who won Nobel prizes in literature. You could add Sardinia’s Deledda to that list. Camilleri was Sicilian.

All of what I said still holds. None of what you said means anything in my opinion. Society isn’t made by a handful of individuals only. It’s too easy to cherry pick examples.

It’s okay, let’s just agree to disagree.

Mai!

Besides, Gaetano Mosca, also Sicilian, and Vilfredo Pareto (the Pareto Principle) would argue that society is indeed shaped by a handful of individuals.
