I’ll throw in with Lixy on this one. This situation didn’t arise as a result of Feminism or of Fear. What is evident here is a COMPLETE lack of discipline. If you read the article, the parents pass themselves off as total victims, unable to control their defiant, empowered 13 year-old daughter.
My stepson is 13 years old, and you had better believe that he knows the difference between acceptable behaviour and unacceptable. That’s not to say that he doesn’t do shit that I wouldn’t approve of when I’m not looking, but at any given moment I know where he should be, and I know who to call to find out if he’s there or not. And I know what’s on his Myspace page, and I’m willing and able to take that page down and/or keep him off of our computer altogether any time I need to.

I think the real issue is the total lack of laying down the groundwork of real parenting. These parents definetly deserve Douchebags of the Year Parenting award for having a 13 year old whore for a daughter. Great parenting I must say.
