I hear the UN is working on a policy to declare all forms of Biceps Curls to be inhumane and therefore illegal except in international waters.
Atta boy. Although I did set the Press number absurdly high, even .8 to .9 would be good.

Just getting caught up in here again. As usual there is a lot going on.
@mr.v3lv3t bicep curls just suck. Good to have you reading though
@Cyrrex my goal was 2/3/4/5 plate, which at a bodyweight of 85-90kg is about the right ballpark. Itās also āstrong enoughā for any non-strength sport goal.
@ChickenLittle a whole lot of talking, and occasionally some unimpressive lifting too. Good to see you back
Thatās what my log is made of⦠lol
I disagree, given the circumstances, your logins impressive.
Thanks! Right now I am trying to decide if I want one 1/2lb cheesy garlic pork burger or two ![]()
How many times can I like that comment? ![]()
@ChickenLittle Is 3 an option?
@anna_5588 the first one is free, for additional likes, I know a Nigerian Prince who can hook you up.
No, I only bought two.
Thatagirl CL I hope they are big.
Why did you move your log⦠I forget to go to the other sub forum.
@dagill2 Bicep curls are the one and only exercise to to. Boosts testostorone to ultimate levels
I just donāt like them. Canāt even tell you why, really. I will probably program them when Iām back in a gym, because it falls under the category of āthings I should doā, but I wonāt enjoy them.
To be fair I donāt do them much and only as a pseudo set at the end of training.
But on a training related site, Curls are something to do, close runner up to bench.
Iām looking forward to benching again, got to say.
Fuck it, Iām looking forward to lifting in the dry and the light. With a rack, and non-rusty plates. And safeties. And a toilet. And water.
I opted for one burger and chocolate cheesecake for dessertā¦lol. Saved the other patty for dinner. I have to go mow the hard yard today so I didnāt want to be miserable.
I took a few weeks off and just moved my log down because itās easier for me to find. I actually put some plates on the bar this morning so maybe I will get my shit together for June.
Theyāre already crying man. No need to pile on.
I know my opinion may come off as salty because I am one of the big guys who is super bad at BW stuff (especially pull ups).
That said bodyweight stuff is only ever impressive for me when the person who is good at it isnāt skinny/ super lean (at lower BW).
Plus I donāt really buy into relative strength too much. It never really appealed to me. I definitely see the need for it obviously and it absolutely has itās place. Still⦠Meh
. Maybe thatās the strongman in me speaking because we donāt care about that stuff in competition.
But honestly if I see all these people who argue on the internet that āThorās world record is only a 2.5 x BW deadlift where as I know this 60 kg guy who deadlifts 240ā¦ā Or āyeah I could do X if I was willing to get that fatā and so on, I could throw up.
Strong is strong. Weight is weight.
I had a talk a few years back when I was just getting into strongman with a veteran (like 12 active seasons) u105 kg strongman. Quick info here: In Germany you compete alongside the heavy guys and have to do the same weights. During the award ceremony you then get two placings: 4th in the class u105 kg and 9th in total. Thatās it. Also some years they have their own final (Germanyās strongest man under 105 kg). Anyway I was asking him if he didnāt think that was unfair, that he had to do the same weights as someone who weighs 150 kg. His answer was: āWhy? Itās not their fault I way less. Itās my decisionā I like this attitude. I kind of copied it in regards to competing against chemically enhanced competitors.
Pretty much exactly my attitude in both respects.
Plus, youād be surprised at the number of good PLers who are decent at bodyweight work, even in the heavier classes.
@MarkKO @Koestrizer I agree with both of you in every respect.
For myself, Iām not expecting to be super impressive at anything fitness related, ever. I just see the bodyweight stuff as easy money on the table, particularly while Iām limited on what heavy lifting i can do.
Try these:
Not to re-cover all the same territory again, but I honestly think it is best to look at absolute strength and relative strength as two different things. If the goal is just to be strong in the most absolute terms, then I completely agree with you.
Relative strength is probably more akin to athleticism, or practical strength. Probably good for people worried about asthetics as well.
I can be equally impressed by both, but I can see why people have different opinions. And we all have our own biases to overcome!
