I was challenged to do the program and it fitted with my goals pretty well so I went for it. I had absolutely no expectation going in that I was actually going to manage 50 reps on the final session, so the fact that it might be possible is pretty motivating. I figure rest enough, eat enough, maybe a touch of caffeine and a video camera pointed at me should be enough to shame me into pulling through with it.
Youāll do it; youāll just be really really fucking miserable for about 35 reps.

This is bring back bad memories of the Hungarian oak leg blast. I didnāt go higher than 135 (60kg) but think my top rep number at around 6 minutes of AMRAP was 103. Was supposed to push the program all the way to 8 minutes but I gave up because well⦠![]()

From my experience with the high rep stuff itās more of a mental battle than a physical one. Youāve almost always got one or two more in the tank. Itās just putting up with the sick!
Is it all done without re-racking the bar?
Yeah. Limiting factor for me is probably lower back and lungs.
You know I am thinking about this now. I am going to have to train to train. Think Iāll start with BW, then goblet squats, empty bar etcā¦
The build up helps. If you look at the start of the program, I was doing sets of 25 with some tiny little nothing weights. It definitely builds up.
I just looked it up and for your weight, youād start with one set of 30 with an empty bar on day 1 and finish with a set of 50 at 135lbs on day 14.

I wasnāt really joking. The last time I pushed anything that hard, I put my heart in Afib.

Not terrible DOMs. I donāt really suffer too much anymore unless I take a week off. Was pretty serious on Monday though.
